    Classification of Unbalanced and Bowed Rotors under Uncertainty Using Wavelet Time Scattering, LSTM, and SVM

    A growing interest in intelligent fault detection may sometimes lead to practical issues when existing malfunctions reveal analogous indications and the number of observations is limited. This article addresses the classification problem of two identical malfunctions, i.e., unbalancing and shaft bow in rotary machines, where only 56 observations were utilized for the training. The faulty systems are modeled in ABAQUS/CAE; a data set for each fault is created by simulation under various physical and operational conditions employing the uncertainty concept. The wavelet time scattering (WTS) technique extracts low-variance presentations from signals. With respect to the classification procedure of the faulted rotor systems, two models are examined with the extracted features from WTS as the input. Initially, a long short-term memory (LSTM) network is trained and tested, and then, the capability of a support vector machine (SVM) model is inquired. Ultimately, the classification models are trained and tested using the raw time series data and the extracted features to compare the effectiveness of the suggested methods, i.e., WTS. The employed approach for feature extraction demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in addressing a potential hurdle in identifying faults in rotating systems: the ability to differentiate between unbalanced and bowed rotors, irrespective of the classification model utilized

    Study of the process e+e- -> omega pi0 in the phi-meson mass region with the KLOE detector

    We have studied the e+e- -> omegapi0 cross section in the sqrt(s) interval 1000-1030 MeV using the pi+pi-pi0pi0 and pi0pi0gamma final states with a sample of ~600 pb^-1 collected with the KLOE detector at DAFNE. By fitting the observed interference pattern around M_phi for both final states, we extract the ratio of the decay widths Gamma(omega->pi0gamma)/Gamma(omega->pi+pi-pi0) = 0.0897 +- 0.0016 and derive the branching fractions BR(omega -> pi+pi-pi0)= (90.24 +- 0.19)%, BR(omega -> pi0gamma) = (8.09 +- 0.14)%. The parameters describing the e+e- -> omegapi0 reaction around M_\phi are also used to extract the branching fraction for the OZI and G-parity violating phi -> omegapi0 decay: BR(phi->omegapi0) = (4.4 +- 0.6)x10^-5.Comment: 12 Pages, 4 figures, submitted to Physics Letter

    Measurement of the pseudoscalar mixing angle and η′\eta^{\prime} gluonium content with KLOE detector

    We have measured the ratio Rϕ=BR(ϕ→η′γ)/BR(ϕ→ηγ)R_{\phi}=BR(\phi \to \eta^{\prime} \gamma)/BR(\phi \to \eta \gamma) by looking for the radiative decays ϕ→η′γ\phi \to \eta^{\prime} \gamma and ϕ→ηγ\phi \to \eta \gamma in the final states π+π−\pi^+\pi^- 7 γ\gamma's and 7 γ\gamma's respectively, in a sample of ∼1.3⋅109\sim 1.3\cdot 10^{9} ϕ\phi mesons produced at the Frascati ϕ\phi-factory. We obtain Rϕ=(4.77±0.09stat±0.19sys)⋅10−3R_{\phi}=(4.77\pm0.09_{stat}\pm0.19_{sys})\cdot 10^{-3} from which we derive BR(ϕ→η′γ)=(6.20±0.11stat±0.25sys)⋅10−5BR(\phi \to \eta^{\prime} \gamma)=(6.20\pm0.11_{stat}\pm0.25_{sys})\cdot 10^{-5}. In the hypothesis of no gluonium content we extract the pseudoscalar mixing angle in the quark-flavor basis ϕP=(41.4±0.3stat±0.7sys±0.6th)∘\phi_P=(41.4\pm0.3_{stat}\pm0.7_{sys}\pm0.6_{th})^{\circ}. Combining the value of RϕR_{\phi} with other constraints, we estimate the gluonium fractional content of η′\eta^{\prime} meson as Z2=0.14±0.04Z^2 = 0.14\pm0.04 and the mixing angle ϕP=(39.7±0.7)∘\phi_P = (39.7\pm0.7)^{\circ}.Comment: 13 pages, 8 figure

    Search for the K_S -> e+e- decay with the KLOE detector

    We present the result of a direct search for the decay K_S -> e+e-, obtained with a sample of e+e- -> phi -> K_S K_L events produced at DAFNE, the Frascati phi-factory, for an integrated luminosity of 1.9 fb^-1. The search has been performed using a pure K_S beam tagged by the simultaneous detection of a K_L interaction in the calorimeter. Background rejection has been optimized by using both kinematic and particle identification cuts. We find BR(K_S -> e+e-) < 9x10^-9 at 90% CL, which improves by an order of magnitude on the previous best limit.Comment: 13 pages, 11 figures, submitted to Physics Letters

    Study of the a_0(980) meson via the radiative decay phi->eta pi^0 gamma with the KLOE detector

    We have studied the phi->a_0(980) gamma process with the KLOE detector at the Frascati phi-factory DAPhNE by detecting the phi->eta pi^0 gamma decays in the final states with eta->gamma gamma and eta->pi^+ pi^- pi^0. We have measured the branching ratios for both final states: Br(phi->eta pi^0 gamma)=(7.01 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.20)x10^-5 and (7.12 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.22)x10^-5 respectively. We have also extracted the a_0(980) mass and its couplings to eta pi^0, K^+ K^-, and to the phi meson from the fit of the eta pi^0 invariant mass distributions using different phenomenological models.Comment: 17 pages, 6 figures, submitted to Physics Letters B.     Measurement of the η→3π0\eta\to 3\pi^{0} slope parameter α\alpha with the KLOE detector

    We present a measurement of the slope parameter α\alpha for the η→3π0\eta\to 3\pi^{0} decay, with the KLOE experiment at the DAΦ\PhiNE ϕ\phi-factory, based on a background free sample of ∼\sim 17 millions η\eta mesons produced in ϕ\phi radiative decays. By fitting the event density in the Dalitz plot we determine \alpha = -0.0301 \pm 0.0035\,stat\;_{-0.0035}^{+0.0022}\,syst\,. The result is in agreement with recent measurements from hadro- and photo-production experiments.Comment: 14 pages, 11 figure
