A utilização da calculadora gráfica no estudo de funções do 10º ano

Dissertação para obtenção do Grau de Mestre em Ensino da Matemática no 3º ciclo do Ensino Básico e no SecundárioA utilização da calculadora gráfica no ensino secundário, em Portugal, é uma realidade há cerca de catorze anos. O estudo apresentado pretende analisar de que forma a calculadora gráfica é uma ferramenta com potencialidades para melhorar as aprendizagens, desenvolver o conhecimento e o pensamento dos alunos do 10º ano, nomeadamente no conteúdo das funções. Por consequência, tem como principal objetivo compreender a forma como os alunos utilizam a calculadora gráfica, analisar em que situação o fazem e aferir a qualidade das aprendizagens efetuadas. O enquadramento teórico pautou-se por uma revisão de literatura sobre calculadoras gráficas no ensino da Matemática, no secundário, destacando-se as orientações de documentos oficiais do Ministério da Educação, assim como de organizações nacionais e internacionais, como a Associação de Professores de Matemática e o National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, que se empenham por melhorar o ensino e a aprendizagem da Matemática. Abordaram-se as práticas pedagógicas associadas ao uso da calculadora gráfica. Por outro lado, estudou-se a noção de função, assim como a necessidade da visualização gráfica de uma função, para a perceção deste conceito. Procurou-se caracterizar a noção de tarefa, uma vez que o trabalho de campo se baseou na resolução de tarefas. Com o intuito de compreender o uso que os alunos fazem da calculadora gráfica, recorreu-se à abordagem instrumental, baseada na teoria da actividade. Através desta forma de analisar a aprendizagem, consideram-se as influências culturais, sociais e das ferramentas na atividade humana. Adotou-se uma metodologia de investigação de natureza qualitativa, baseada em estudos de caso e focada em três alunos, numa turma de 10º ano. Procurou-se diversificar a abordagem estratégica pelo uso de entrevistas, observação de aulas, análise dos procedimentos utilizados na calculadora gráfica, na resolução de tarefas. Da análise dos dados constata-se que existem técnicas que são do conhecimento geral, mas a forma como são utilizadas depende sobretudo do conhecimento teórico. Por outro lado, a exploração que os alunos fazem de documentos/ficheiros fornecidos pelo professor para a calculadora gráfica, facilita a compreensão das tarefas, a resolução das mesmas, e consequentemente a aprendizagem. Estes documentos, para além de serem uma ferramenta para a prática lectiva, permitem ao aluno visualizar individualmente as funções de uma forma dinâmica e elucidativa

Kinetics of Oxygen Ingress into Wine Bottles Closed with Natural Cork Stoppers of Different Qualities

Research NoteThe kinetics of oxygen ingress into bottles closed with natural cork stoppers was investigated by a nondestructive colorimetric measurement method using the oxidation of an indigo carmine solution. In order to encompass the natural variability of cork regarding its oxygen ingress into the bottle, 600 natural cork stoppers from different quality classes and produced from cork planks of different calipers were analyzed. The kinetics of oxygen transfer was similar in all cases and could be adjusted to logarithmic models. A significant variability was found for oxygen ingress into the bottles closed with natural cork stoppers: ingress at 12 months ranged from 0.3 to 4.8 mg; 21% of the stoppers reached the limit of oxygen quantification along the experiment. Rice Compounds with Impact on Diabetes Control

It is composed of starch, which is an important source of diet energy, hypoallergenic proteins, and other bioactive compounds with known nutritional functionalities. Noteworthy is that the rice bran (outer layer of rice grains), a side-stream product of the rice milling process, has a higher content of bioactive compounds than white rice (polished rice grains). Bran functional ingredients such as γ-oryzanol, phytic acid, ferulic acid, γ-aminobutyric acid, tocopherols, and tocotrienols (vitamin E) have been linked to several health benefits. In this study, we reviewed the effects of rice glycemic index, macronutrients, and bioactive compounds on the pathological mechanisms associated with diabetes, identifying the rice compounds potentially exerting protective activities towards disease control. The effects of starch, proteins, and bran bioactive compounds for diabetic control were reviewed and provide important insights about the nutritional quality of rice-based foods.publishersversionpublishe

História do cineclubismo em Portugal: o caso do Cineclube de Setúbal (1956-1962)

Trata-se de um estudo histórico sobre o Cineclubismo Português na sua fase de formação e difusão. Pretendeu-se perceber as especificidades na organização e evolução dos cineclubes portugueses e o seu contributo para o desenvolvimento da cultura cinéfila até aos anos 1960s. O estudo tem como foco o Cineclube de Setúbal, que tem uma duração limitada (1956-62). O pós II Guerra Mundial assistiu à fase de maturidade do movimento. Nos anos 1950s, por todo o país, foram criados cineclubes e Setúbal não foi exceção. Em 1956, foi criado o Cineclube de Setúbal, o qual teve uma vida efémera. Espaço de cultura, com papel de destaque na promoção e divulgação do cinema, assim como do cinema de amadores. Organizou sessões em Setúbal e Palmela, assim como exposições, cursos de cinema e fotografia e retrospetivas. Cessou funções em 1962, depois da criação da Federação Portuguesa de Cineclubes, em 1956, sob controlo do Estado e da imposição do «Estatuto-tipo»; ABSTRACT: This is a historical study of the Portuguese Film Societies in its formative stage and age of dissemination. We intended to understand the organization and evolution of Portuguese Film Societies and its contribution to the development cinéphile culture until the 1960s. The study focuses on the Film Society of Setúbal, which has a limited duration (1956-62). The post World War II witnessed the maturity phase of the movement. In the 1950s, around the country were created film clubs and Setúbal was no exception. In 1956 it was created the Film Society of Setúbal, which had a short life span, but it was place of culture, with a prominent role in the promotion and dissemination of the film, as well as amateur film. This film society had developed a program of sessions at Palmela and Setúbal, as well as exhibitions, film and photography courses and retrospectives. The activities were ceased in 1962, after the State controlled creation of the Portuguese Federation of Film Societies (1956) and the imposition of 'status-type'

Effect of the estufagem process on the chemical constituents of Madeira wines

Madeira wine is a product of well-established reputation, whose aroma and flavour is the result of unique combinations. Particularly, its maturation may include estufagem, wherein wine is usually heated at 45 °C for three months. During this period, several chemical changes may occur, so it is essential to assess its impact on the wine. In this sense, the main objective of the thesis was to evaluate the effect estufagem on the chemical constituents of Madeira wine, specifically on those molecules potentially important in the development of its typical features. Firstly, analytical methodologies capable of determining the target compounds, combining precision and reproducibility to execution effectiveness, were developed. Then various monovarietal Madeira wines were analysed during estufagem under standard and overheating conditions in order to assess its effect. The following compounds were evaluated: furans, amino acids, biogenic amines, polyphenols, organic acids and volatile compounds. In addition, the total polyphenolic composition, the antioxidant potential and the colour of these wines were also evaluated. The results show that most constituents change due to the heating process. Particularly, the heating promotes the development of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) in sweet wines submitted to estufagem at higher temperatures. Moreover, estufagem provides the decrease of most amino acids, suggesting their involvement in the formation of the bouquet of these wines. Regarding the total polyphenol content and antioxidant potential of these wines they do not seem to be greatly affected by the heating step, however most monomeric polyphenols decrease during this process. The thermal processing of Madeira wines favours the development of the volatile composition, especially of volatiles usually reported as typical aromas of Madeira wines. Finally, it was demonstrated that the thermal degradation of sugars, especially of fructose, promotes the emergence of volatile compounds identified in baked wines.Universidade da Madeira E Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologi

A família no hospital

O presente relatório é referente ao estágio clínico do curso de mestrado de natureza profissional em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica 2008/2010 da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, realizado no Serviço de Cirurgia Geral e Serviço de Urgência do Hospital do Montijo. Contém a descrição e análise das várias etapas do caminho percorrido nos campos de estágio, procurando documentar as aprendizagens conseguidas assim como os impactos da presente formação na prestação de cuidados, na formação, na gestão e na investigação de modo a comprovar o desenvolvimento de competências necessárias ao enfermeiro especialista. Está organizado a partir do planeamento prévio às actividades de estágio, sendo descrita a instituição e serviços escolhidos, seguindo-se a análise da experiência profissional creditada ao abrigo da legislação em vigor e posteriormente relatado o processo de desenvolvimento de competências trabalhadas nos estágios clínicos. As pesquisas, reflexões, análises de incidentes críticos, conteúdos de toda a formação realizada, bibliografia e principais recursos utilizados, foram organizados num portefólio de aquisição de competências em suporte digital e que serviu de apoio à realização deste relatório. Por fim é apresentada a síntese e as conclusões do trabalho efectuado, assinalando-se os progressos alcançados em termos de desenvolvimento de competências e os principais contributos deixados nos locais de estágio.This report refers to clinical stage of the masters course of a professional nature in Medical-Surgical Nursing 2008/2010, realized at Portuguese Catholic University, conducted in the Department of General Surgery and Accident and Emergency, at Montijo‟s Hospital. It contains the description and analysis of the various stages of the path taken in the fields of probation, to try to document learning achievements as well as the impacts of this training in providing care, training, management and research in order to demonstrate the development of skills required the nurse specialist. It is structured from the early planning stage of activities, starting by the description of the institution and selected services, followed by a description and analysis of professional experience credited under the legislation in force, and subsequently reported the process of developing skills worked in stages clinical studies. The research, reflections, analysis of critical incidents, the entire contents of the training undertaken, and key literature resources used, were organized in a portfolio of skills that we worked on digital media and that served to support the production of this report. Finally, we present the summary and conclusions of the work done, pointing progresses in terms of skills development and major contributions left in local places of training

A promoção do desenvolvimento de competências parentais na prestação de cuidados de higiene e conforto ao recém- nascido pode ser bem sucedida através do envolvimento precoce do pai, verificando-se que existe atualmente um maior desejo de participação do mesmo na vida do filho de forma a vivenciar uma paternidade mais satisfatória. Partimos de uma contextualização em direção a uma descrição e reflexão crítica do percurso vivido, evidenciando as competências desenvolvidas e adquiridas enquanto enfermeiras. A elaboração deste relatório teve como objetivo dar a conhecer as atividades desenvolvidas para que os objetivos traçados no projeto fossem alcançados. Temos a pretensão com este relatório descrever as intervenções realizadas, a sua análise e reflexão pessoal, suportadas pelas evidências científicas de estudos realizados neste domínio. A principal finalidade é conduzir à reflexão sobre a temática e contribuir para a adequação das nossas intervenções de enfermagem no puerpério que contribuam para o envolvimento do pai nos cuidados; ### ABSTRACT Promoting the development of parenting skills in the provision of health care and comfort to the newborn can be successful through the early involvement of the father, since there is now a greater desire to participate even in the life of the child, in order to experience a more satisfying fatherhood. We started from a theoretical context toward a descriptive and critical reflection of the things parent experience, highlighting the skills developed and acquired as nurses. The preparation of this report aims to inform the activities to the objectives outlined in the project were achieved. A contribuição da ergonomia no registro e prevenção das LER/DORT em centrais de atendimento: um estudo de caso

Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia de Produção.O presente estudo originou-se da verificação de uma alta incidência de doenças profissionais em atendentes de centrais de atendimento. Como base da pesquisa foi estudada uma central específica de um setor de telecomunicações com recomendações ergonômicas pretensamente adequadas quanto ao espaço físico e mobiliário, mas com quadros de Lesões por Esforços Repetitivos (LER) ou, atualmente, Doenças Ósteo-Musculares Relacionadas ao Trabalho (DORT) em seus funcionários, doença que é a que mais acomete essa categoria de trabalhadores. Buscando elucidar melhor essa problemática, foi necessário efetuar um estudo referente ao serviço do teleatendimento, à ergonomia e a LER/DORT evidenciando aspectos de seu conceito, classificação, fatores etiológicos, diagnóstico, estágios evolutivos, prevenção, recursos terapêuticos e condutas. Ainda foi realizado um estudo sobre a legislação e a estatística dessa doença, principalmente no Brasil, buscando também fundamentar as bases de uma implantação ergonômica adequada para esse tipo de serviço, tão comum hoje em dia. Como resultado deste processo, buscou-se então organizar uma série de recomendações gerais para um setor de teleatendimento, visando otimizar o seu processo produtivo, com uma melhor qualidade de vida para seus funcionários

Cork and Cork Stoppers: Quality and Performance

Cork is a world-renowned material used for sealing wine bottles. Cork is a cellular material with chemical inertia and a set of physical and mechanical properties that provide an outstanding performance for in-bottle wine aging, by combining minute oxygen transfer with sealing, durability, and chemical stability, for example, inertness toward the liquid content and along storage, preventing sensory deterioration. Cork is a natural material, one of the most important nontimber forest products, that is associated with sustainability and ecosystem preservation. The cork industry has steadily improved production processes and adopted innovative technologies, quality control measures, and certification, regarding prevention of potential wine taints and off-flavors. This chapter makes a review of cork stoppers, their properties, and quality and role for wine bottle aging, tackling their importance for wine aroma and off-flavors while presenting the latest advances in cork research
