Graded associative conformal algebras of finite type
In this paper, we consider graded associative conformal algebras. The class
of these objects includes pseudo-algebras over non-cocommutative Hopf algebras
of regular functions on some linear algebraic groups. In particular, an
associative conformal algebra which is graded by a finite group is a
pseudo-algebra over the coordinate Hopf algebra of a linear algebraic group
such that the identity component is the affine line and . A classification of simple and semisimple graded associative
conformal algebras of finite type is obtained
The recombinant fusion protein CFP10–ESAT6–dIFN has protective effect against tuberculosis in guinea pigs
Development of effective vaccine candidates against tuberculosis (TB) is currently the most important challenge in the prevention of this disease since the BCG vaccine fails to guarantee a lifelong protection, while any other approved vaccine with better efficiency is still absent. The protective effect of the recombinant fusion protein CFP10–ESAT6–dIFN produced in a prokaryotic expression system (Escherichia coli) has been assessed in a guinea pig model of acute TB. The tested antigen comprises the Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) proteins ESAT6 and CFP10 as well as modified human γ-interferon (dIFN) for boosting the immune response. Double intradermal immunization of guinea pigs with the tested fusion protein (2 × 0.5 µg) induces a protective effect against subsequent Mtb infection. The immunized guinea pigs do not develop the symptoms of acute TB and their body weight gain was five times more as compared with the non-immunized infected guinea pigs. The animal group immunized with this dose of antigen displays the minimum morphological changes in the internal organs and insignificant inflammatory lesions in the liver tissue, which complies with a decrease in the bacterial load in the spleen and average Mtb counts in macrophages
CRISPR/Cas9-Mediated Targeted DNA Integration: Rearrangements at the Junction of Plant and Plasmid DNA
Targeted DNA integration into known locations in the genome has potential advantages over the random insertional events typically achieved using conventional means of genetic modification. We studied the presence and extent of DNA rearrangements at the junction of plant and transgenic DNA in five lines of Arabidopsis thaliana suspension cells carrying a site-specific integration of target genes. Two types of templates were used to obtain knock-ins, differing in the presence or absence of flanking DNA homologous to the target site in the genome. For the targeted insertion, we selected the region of the histone H3.3 gene with a very high constitutive level of expression. Our studies showed that all five obtained knock-in cell lines have rearrangements at the borders of the integrated sequence. Significant rearrangements, about 100 or more bp from the side of the right flank, were found in all five plant lines. Reorganizations from the left flank at more than 17 bp were found in three out of five lines. The fact that rearrangements were detected for both variants of the knock-in template (with and without flanks) indicates that the presence of flanks does not affect the occurrence of mutations
Oral Immunogenicity of Plant-Made Mycobacterium tuberculosis ESAT6 and CFP10
Two lines of transgenic carrot plants producing Mycobacterium tuberculosis proteins (ESAT6 and CFP10) have been constructed. The target proteins are present in carrot storage roots at a level not less than 0.056% of the total storage protein (TSP) for ESAT6 and 0.002% of TSP for CFP10. As has been shown, oral immunization of mice induces both the cell-mediated and humoral immunities. These data suggest that the proteins in question are appropriate as a candidate edible vaccine against tuberculosis
Measurement of , , Production at HERA
The production of the neutral strange hadrons , and
has been measured in collisions at HERA using the ZEUS
detector. Cross sections, baryon-to-meson ratios, relative yields of strange
and charged light hadrons, () asymmetry and
polarization have been measured in three kinematic regions: Q^2 > 25 \gev^2;
5 < Q^2 < 25 \gev^2; and in photoproduction (). In
photoproduction the presence of two hadronic jets, each with at least 5 \gev
transverse energy, was required. The measurements agree in general with Monte
Carlo models and are consistent with measurements made at colliders,
except for an enhancement of baryon relative to meson production in
photoproduction.Comment: 40 pages, 20 figures, 1 table, minor revisions, accepted by European

Measurement of -violating and mixing-induced observables in decays
International audienceA time-dependent analysis of the Bs0→ϕγ decay rate is performed to determine the CP -violating observables Sϕγ and Cϕγ and the mixing-induced observable AϕγΔ. The measurement is based on a sample of pp collision data recorded with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb-1 at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The measured values are Sϕγ=0.43±0.30±0.11, Cϕγ=0.11±0.29±0.11, and AϕγΔ=-0.67-0.41+0.37±0.17, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. This is the first measurement of the observables S and C in radiative Bs0 decays. The results are consistent with the standard model predictions
Observation of Several Sources of Violation in Decays
International audienceObservations are reported of different sources of CP violation from an amplitude analysis of B+→π+π+π- decays, based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb-1 of pp collisions recorded with the LHCb detector. A large CP asymmetry is observed in the decay amplitude involving the tensor f2(1270) resonance, and in addition significant CP violation is found in the π+π-S wave at low invariant mass. The presence of CP violation related to interference between the π+π-S wave and the P wave B+→ρ(770)0π+ amplitude is also established; this causes large local asymmetries but cancels when integrated over the phase space of the decay. The results provide both qualitative and quantitative new insights into CP -violation effects in hadronic B decays
