    Mejoramiento en avena: resistencia genética a pulgón

    La avena, con una superficie sembrada estimada en 1.400.000 ha, se utiliza como integrante de mezclas forrajeras o verdeos, modalidad de uso que representa más del 70% de dicha superficie. El pulgón verde , schizaphis graminum (rond), la plaga de mayor incidencia en los cereales de invierno, afecta especialmente siembras tempranas de verdeo, tal como ocurre en avena. El control de este áfido es posible mediante el logro de variedades con resistencia genética, la utilización de dichas variedades, disminuye notablemente las pérdidas de producción, resulta compatible con otras estrategias de control biológico, cultural e incluso químico. Simplifica el manejo, reduce costos y resulta acorde con los actuales criterios de sustentabilidad: sistemas productivos de bajos insumos, que limiten el impacto ambiental.     Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh prestasi akademik mata kuliah kependidikan terhadap kemampuan pedagogik mahasiswa PPL 2. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif korelasional. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Program Studi Tadris Matematika IAIN Mataram dengan sampel sebanyak 115 mahasiswa yang mengikuti PPL 2. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari pedoman dokumentasi dan lembar observasi kemampuan pedagogik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat (1) pengaruh prestasi akademik mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Desain Pembelajaran Matematika terhadap kemampuan pedagogik mahasiswa PPL 2, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan diperoleh nilai t sebesar 0,032 dan taraf signifikansi kurang dari 0,05; (2) pengaruh prestasi akademik mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Workshop Matematika terhadap kemampuan pedagogik mahasiswa PPL 2, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan diperoleh nilai t sebesar 0,039 dan taraf signifikansi kurang dari 0,05; (3) pengaruh prestasi akademik mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Strategi Belajar Mengajar matematika terhadap kemampuan pedagogik mahasiswa PPL 2, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan diperoleh nilai t sebesar 0,025 dan taraf signifikansi kurang dari 0,05; (4) pengaruh prestasi akademik mahasiswa pada mata kuliah desain pembelajaran matematika, Workshop Matematika dan Strategi Belajar Mengajar Matematika secara bersamaan terhadap kemampuan pedagogik mahasiswa PPL 2, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan diperoleh nilai t sebesar 0,032 dan taraf signifikansi kurang dari 0,05. Kata kunci: prestasi akademik, kemampuan pedagogik, PPL 2 The aim of this study is to describe the effect of academics achievement on education-content related course towards pedagogic skill of higher education students of PPL 2. The type of the study was correlational based experimental research. This study was conducted in mathematics study programme of IAIN Mataram examining 115 students as sample who followed PPL 2. Research instruments included documentation guide and observation sheet on pedagogic skill. The result shows that there are (1) effect of academic achievement of students who followed Mathematics Learning Design course towards PPL 2 students’ pedagogic skill, this was proved by the t value of 0.032 and significance rate less than 0.05; (2) effect of academic achievement of students who followed Mathematics Workshop course towards PPL 2 students’ pedagogic skill, this was proved by t value of 0.039 and significance rate less than 0.05; (3) effect of academic achievement of students who followed Mathematics Teaching and Learning Strategy course towards PPL 2 students’ pedagogic skill, this was proved by t value of 0.025 and significance rate less than 0.05; (4) effect of academic achievement of students who followed Mathematics Workshop course and Mathematics Teaching and Learning Strategy course simultaneously towards PPL 2 students’ pedagogic skill, this was proved by by t value of 0.032 and significance rate less than 0.05.     Code-mixing and Code Switching in Wylvera W.’s Novel Geranium Blossom: Saat Jarak Menguji Cinta: Their Types and Reasons

    Code-mixing constitutes a mixing of two codes or languages which is usually without a change of topic, whereas code-switching shows a change made from one language or language variety to another one. There are three types of code-mixing including insertion, alternation, and congruent lexicalization as proposed by Muysken (2000: 3), and code-switching is of four types, that is, inter-sentential switching, intra-sentential switching, emblematic/ tag switching, and intra-word switching (Poplack, 2004: 589). The uses of code-mixing and code-switching are quite common in bilingual or multilingual communities in an informal situation. Based on these two terms (codemixing and code-switching), this paper was then made to describe the types and reasons of code-mixing and code switching in Wylvera W.’s novel Geranium Blossom: Saat Jarak Menguji Cinta written in 2015. The types of code-mixing which are used in the novel are all the three types above (i. e. insertion, alternation, and congruent lexicalization), and those of code-switching which are used are only two from the above four types (i. e. inter-sentential switching and emblematic/ tag switching). It was found that, in terms of code-mixing, insertion was used more than the other types of code-mixing, and, in terms of code-switching, it is inter-sentential switching which was used more than the other types of code-switching. This research applied a descriptive qualitative method as proposed by Creswell (2009: 4) in the analysis of the matters concerning code-mixing and code-switching in the novel.   Keywords: code-mixing, insertion, alternation, congruent lexicalization, codeswitchin

    Polarization-modulation near-field optical microscope for quantitative local dichroism mapping

    A couple of experimental techniques have been implemented to an aperture near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM) to obtain reliable measurement of sample dichroism on the local scale. First, a method to test NSOM tapered fiber probes toward polarization conservation into the near optical field is reported. The probes are characterized in terms of the in-plane polarization of the near field emerging from their aperture, by using a thin dichroic layer of chromophore molecules, structured along stretched polymeric chains, to probe such polarization when approached in the near-field region of the probe. Second, to assure that the light intensity coupled in the fiber is polarization independent, an active system operating in real time has been realized. Such combination of techniques allowed quantitative imaging of local dichroism degree and average orientation by means of dual-phase lock-in demodulation of the optical signal. Translation of the coupled light polarization state in the near field has been observed for one-half of the tested probes. For the others, the tip acts as a polarizer, and therefore showed it was not suitable for polarization modulation NSOM measurements

    Arsenic, fluoride and other trace elements in the Argentina Pampean plain

    The contents of arsenic (As), fluoride (F) and other trace elements (B, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, V, Zn, Ba, Si and Sr) have been determined in groundwater samples from the Langueyú creek basin, in the Argentina Pampean plain. This research aims to establish the baseline concentration and geographical distribution of trace elements in this basin. This aim has particular interest to public health in the city of Tandil where groundwater is the principal source of water for human supply. The baseline concentrations of elements in the Langueyú creek basin are in good agreement with published data from other locations of the Pampean aquifer. The arsenic limit of 10mg/l, established as provisional limit by the World Health Organization (WHO), was exceeded in 78% of the sampled wells, with As concentration increasing in the direction of groundwater flow. Concentrations of B, Cd, Cu, Cr, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn regulated by the Argentinian Food Code (CAA) do not exceed the maximum limit for drinking water, although concentrations of Ni, Zn or Pb peaked up at some wells, probably due to pipeline corrosion. The strong correlation observed between As, F, V, Cr and B has been related to their anionic character at the groundwater natural alkaline pH that is likely associated with similar mobilization (adsorption/desorption) processes. Worst consequences for human health have arisen in areas with the highest arsenic concentration in drinking water. The conclusions of this study contribute to understand the provenance and mobilization processes of some trace elements in groundwater. It enables the decision making regarding the public health priorities and the technological treatments of water resources in urban and rural areas

    This study aims to reveal the cultural aspects of the Belitung Malay community in Andrea Hirata’s Novel Sirkus Pohon. The research applied Koentjoroningrat (2000) theory about cultural aspects. The research uses qualitative research which is described in the form of words in the discussion chapter. Qualitative method is used to understand the phenomenon of what is experienced by subjects holistically in a descriptive way in the form of words and languages in a context, especially natural ones by utilizing various natural methods (Moleong, 2010). The cultural elements of Koentjoroningrat (2000) are the source of study, namely aspects of language, knowledge systems, social systems or social organizations, systems of living equipment and technology, living systems, religious systems, and arts.     Ideology in Marine Ritual Discourse of Acehnese Speech Community

    This study is about what particular people belong to the particular ethnic have in mind as their ideology to see the environment, reflected from traditional fishing ritual in Acehnese speech community under the eco-linguistic perspective. In addition, with reference to social praxis, ecolinguistics recognizes three dimensions, namely ideological, sociological, and biological dimensions relating to the exploitation of the environment for fishing through ritual speech. The purpose of this study is to determine the ideology reflected in the speech. The study employed a qualitative research methodology, utilizing a phenomenological approach. The study makes use of verbal expressions expressed by naval commanders, gathered through a combination of participatory observation and comprehensive interviews at a central location of fish market and sanctuary in Banda Aceh, Aceh Indonesia. The data collected serve as the basis for the analysis and interpretation of the research findings. The respected ideology was then compared to the concept of ecosophy. The results of the analysis show that the ritual holistically contains the ideology of environmental preservation. The efforts to assist the natural, social, and spiritual preservations, specifically in marine environments, are obviously detected in the discourse. The ideology offered is in accordance with the concept of ecosophy, which includes beneficial discourse. However, part of the utterances also reflect the ambivalent discourse, but not the destructive one

    A study of the deep structure of the energy landscape of glassy polystyrene: the exponential distribution of the energy-barriers revealed by high-field Electron Spin Resonance spectroscopy

    The reorientation of one small paramagnetic molecule (spin probe) in glassy polystyrene (PS) is studied by high-field Electron Spin Resonance spectroscopy at two different Larmor frequencies (190 and 285 GHz). The exponential distribution of the energy-barriers for the rotational motion of the spin probe is unambigously evidenced at both 240K and 270K. The same shape for the distribution of the energy-barriers of PS was evidenced by the master curves provided by previous mechanical and light scattering studies. The breadth of the energy-barriers distribution of the spin probe is in the range of the estimates of the breadth of the PS energy-barriers distribution. The evidence that the deep structure of the energy landscape of PS exhibits the exponential shape of the energy-barriers distribution agrees with results from extreme-value statistics and the trap model by Bouchaud and coworkers.Comment: Final version in press as Letter to the Editor on J.Phys.:Condensed Matter.
