The title compound, C24H27NO9, is one of the epimers of the Henry reaction of 3-O-benzyl-6-O-benzoyl-2-O-isopropylidene-a-d-glucofuran-5-one with nitromethane. The conformation of the five membered rings is as expected from the precursor compound and the molecule is folded with a dihedral angle of 51.4 (2)° between the aromatic rings. One O—H⋯O hydrogen bond and some intramolecular and intermolecular C—H⋯O interactions are observed in the structure

New Morphiceptin Peptidomimetic Incorporating (1S,2R,3S,4S,5R)-2-Amino-3,4,5-trihydroxycyclopen-tane-1-carboxylic acid: Synthesis and Structural Study

We present the synthesis and structural study of a new peptidomimetic of morphiceptin, which can formally be considered as the result of the replacement of the central proline residue of this natural analgesic drug with a subunit of (1S,2R,3S,4S,5R)-2-amino-3,4,5-trihydroxycyclopentane-1-carboxylic acid, previously obtained from L-idose. An optimized synthesis of this trihydroxylated cispentacin derivative is also reported. Molecular docking calculations on the target receptor support a favorable role of the hydroxy substituents of the non-natural β-amino acid incorporated into the peptidomimeticThis work has received financial support from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (CTQ2009-08490), the Xunta de Galicia (Centro Singular de Investigación de Galicia, Centro singular de investigación de Galicia accreditation 2019-2022, ED431G 2019/03; Project CN2011/037, project ED431C 2018/04 and Project GRC2014/040), the Principado de Asturias (FICYT IDI/2018/000181) and the European Union (European Regional Development Fund-ERDF). Estudio interregional comparado de la Educación Matemática en la formación inicial del profesorado de educación primaria

    Get PDF

The aim is to study the type of mathematical knowledge defined in syllabus. For this purpose, it has been carried out a comparative study about preservice teachers’ curriculum. Two comparison parameters included in the TEDS-M International report have been into account: knowledge of mathematical content and knowledge of pedagogical content. The results obtained show a high variability in the distribution of the number and nature of ECTS offered and a prevalence of the knowledge of the mathematical content in relation to the pedagogical conten

Structure-guided engineering of a receptor-agonist pair for inducible activation of the ABA adaptive response to drought

Strategies to activate abscisic acid (ABA) receptors and boost ABA signaling by small molecules that act as ABA receptor agonists are promising biotechnological tools to enhance plant drought tolerance. Protein structures of crop ABA receptors might require modifications to improve recognition of chemical ligands, which in turn can be optimized by structural information. Through structure-based targeted design, we have combined chemical and genetic approaches to generate an ABA receptor agonist molecule (iSB09) and engineer a CsPYL1 ABA receptor, named CsPYL15m, which efficiently binds iSB09. This optimized receptor-agonist pair leads to activation of ABA signaling and marked drought tolerance. No constitutive activation of ABA signaling and hence growth penalty was observed in transformed Arabidopsis thaliana plants. Therefore, conditional and efficient activation of ABA signaling was achieved through a chemical-genetic orthogonal approach based on iterative cycles of ligand and receptor optimization driven by the structure of ternary receptor-ligand-phosphatase complexes

Reactivity of a recombinant esterase from Thermus thermophilus HB27 in aqueous and organic media

The thermoalkalophilic membrane-associated esterase E34Tt from Thermus thermophilus HB27 was cloned and expressed in Kluyveromyces lactis (KLEST-3S esterase). The recombinant enzyme was tested as a biocatalyst in aqueous and organic media. It displayed a high thermal stability and was active in the presence of 10% (v/v) organic solvents and 1% (w/v) detergents. KLEST-3S hydrolysed triglycerides of various acyl chains, which is a rare characteristic among carboxylic ester hydrolases from extreme thermophiles, with maximum activity on tributyrin. It also displayed interfacial activation towards triacetin. KLEST-3S was also tested as a biocatalyst in organic media. The esterase provided high yields for the acetylation of alcohols. In addition, KLEST-3S catalyzed the stereoselective hydrolysis of (R,S)-ibuprofen methyl ester (87% ee). Our results indicate that KLEST-3S may be a robust and efficient biocatalyst for application in industrial bioconversions.Xunta de Galicia | Ref. 10MDS373027PRXunta de Galicia | Ref.
