Efeitos do solo e clima numa vinha de uva de mesa com cultura de cobertura. Gestão da rega utilizando redes de sensores

[ENG] TThe use of mulches in vineyards and orchards is a traditional agricultural practice used with the aim of saving moisture, reducing weed growth and improving organic matter content in the soil. In table grape vineyards trained to overhead system in Puglia region (Southeastern Italy), plastic sheets covering the canopy are often used to either advance ripening or delay harvest. In this environment, the living mulches could contribute to the modification of the microclimate around the canopy below the plastic sheets. This condition has an influence on the climatic demand and on both the vegetative and productive activities, mainly in stages with a high evapotranspiration. However, the presence of living mulches could increase the demand of available water and nutrient resources and this could cause a lower yield. The aim of this study was to acquire a suitable knowledge to manage irrigation and verify the influences of living mulches on the vine by using wireless sensor networks to measure the vapor pressure deficit, soil water potential and content.[POR] A utilização de coberturas do solo em vinhas e pomares é uma prática agrícola tradicional, utilizada com o objetivo de preservar a humidade do solo, reduzir o crescimento de infestantes e melhorar o teor de matéria orgânica no solo. The development of this work was supported by: The Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation through the project RIDEFRUT (ref. This article is based on a study case carried out through the existential phenomenological method and especially the Logotherapeutic perspective of Viktor Frankl. Where different categories and subcategories of noological resources are analyzed, deployed in a process of Clinical Logotherapy in a 31-year-old woman who meets the criteria for a diagnosis of dependent disorder, according to DSM V, where it seeks to answer the following questions: Can the deployment of Noetic Resources transform first and second level coping strategies in dependent personality disorder? What variables are involved in the relapse to first-level strategies? How does relapse become an opportunity to continue the process of unfolding noetic resources? The consultant not only promotes changes in her initial diagnosis of a dependent personality disorder, but also identifies relapse as an opportunity to enhance the deployment of her noetic resources and improve coping strategies; that facilitate the consultant, make decisions regarding her life, assuming her well-being from freedom and with responsibility, enjoying her loneliness, identifying what connects her with life, self-regulating emotions and alcohol intake, seeking to establish relationships not from dependence but from differentiation and freedom.MaestríaMagister en Psicologí

A Wearable System for Real-Time Continuous Monitoring of Physical Activity

    Get PDF
Over the last decades, wearable systems have gained interest for monitoring of physiological variables, promoting health, and improving exercise adherence in different populations ranging from elite athletes to patients. In this paper, we present a wearable system for the continuous real-time monitoring of respiratory frequency (fR), heart rate (HR), and movement cadence during physical activity. The system has been experimentally tested in the laboratory (by simulating the breathing pattern with a mechanical ventilator) and by collecting data from one healthy volunteer. Results show the feasibility of the proposed device for real-time continuous monitoring of fR, HR, and movement cadence both in resting condition and during activity. Finally, different synchronization techniques have been investigated to enable simultaneous data collection from different wearable modules.Ministerio de Economía y Competitivida

A Comparison of Photoelastic and Finite Elements Analysis in Internal Connection and Bone Level Dental Implants

    Get PDF
This study is a contribution to our understanding of the mechanical behaviour of dental implants through the use of the finite element and the photoelastic methods. Two internal connection and bone level dental implants with different design have been analysed (M-12 by Oxtein S.L., Zaragoza, Spain, and ASTRA, from Dentsply Sirona, Charlotte, NC, USA), evaluating the stress distribution produced by axial stresses and a comparison has been established between them, as well as between the two methods used, in order to validate the adopted hypotheses and correlate the numerical modelling performed with experimental tests. To load the implant in laboratory testing, a column was placed, such that the loading point was about 9.3 mm from the upper free surface of the resin plate. This column connects the implant with the weights used to define the test load. In turn, support for both plates was achieved by two 6 mm bolts 130 mm apart and located on a parallel line with the resin (flush with the maximum level of the implant), at a depth of 90 mm. The results obtained with both methods used were similar enough. The comparison of results is fundamentally visual, but ensures that, at least in the range of forces used, both methods are similar. Therefore, the photoelastic method can be used to confirm in a real way the virtual conditions of the finite element models, with the implications in the investigation of dental implants that this entails

Surgical techniques in bariatric surgery: minimally invasive approaches and long-term outcomes

    Get PDF
Obesity is a worldwide epidemic, and current weight loss strategies frequently do not effectively tackle the problem. Bariatric surgery effectively addresses this issue. A systematic research study was done to investigate minimally invasive bariatric operations, using 32 studies from a pool of 2,118 data. Bariatric surgery was found to greatly assist in weight reduction and enhance general health results. Procedures such as gastric balloon, gastric banding, and gastric bypass can decrease the weight of obese people and alleviate associated health conditions. Sleeve gastrectomy is highly successful and yields favorable long-term results. The procedure used relies on the patient's health and the surgeon's discretion. The primary risk factor is the recurrence of weight or the need for revision surgery. Ultimately, bariatric procedures provide weight loss and long-term health benefits, but it is important to acknowledge the associated surgical risks. Immediate dangers include of blood clotting, intestine blockage, bleeding, infections, abdominal pain, nausea, heartburn, vomiting, ulcers, and other issues associated with surgery. Long-term consequences include of dumping syndrome, starvation, and weight regain.
