The following subexponential estimate for commutators is proved |[|\{x\in Q: |[b,T]f(x)|>tM^2f(x)\}|\leq c\,e^{-\sqrt{\alpha\, t\|b\|_{BMO}}}\, |Q|, \qquad t>0.\] where cc and α\alpha are absolute constants, TT is a Calder\'on--Zygmund operator, MM is the Hardy Littlewood maximal function and ff is any function supported on the cube QQ. It is also obtained |\{x\in Q: |f(x)-m_f(Q)|>tM_{1/4;Q}^#(f)(x) \}|\le c\, e^{-\alpha\,t}|Q|,\qquad t>0, where mf(Q)m_f(Q) is the median value of ff on the cube QQ and M_{1/4;Q}^# is Str\"omberg's local sharp maximal function. As a consequence it is derived Karagulyan's estimate {xQ:Tf(x)>tMf(x)}cectQt>0,|\{x\in Q: |Tf(x)|> tMf(x)\}|\le c\, e^{-c\, t}\,|Q|\qquad t>0, improving Buckley's theorem. A completely different approach is used based on a combination of "Lerner's formula" with some special weighted estimates of Coifman-Fefferman obtained via Rubio de Francia's algorithm. The method is flexible enough to derive similar estimates for other operators such as multilinear Calder\'on--Zygmund operators, dyadic and continuous square functions and vector valued extensions of both maximal functions and Calder\'on--Zygmund operators. On each case, MM will be replaced by a suitable maximal operator.Comment: To appear in Mathematische Annale

Legal Ontologies for the spanish e-Government

The Electronic Government is a new field of applications for the semantic web where ontologies are becoming an important research technology. The e-Government faces considerable challenges to achieve interoperability given the semantic differences of interpretation, complexity and width of scope. In this paper we present the results obtained in an ongoing project commissioned by the Spanish government that seeks strategies for the e-Government to reduce the problems encountered when delivering services to citizens. We also introduce an e-Government ontology model; within this model a set of legal ontologies are devoted to representing the Real-estate transaction domain used to illustrate this paper

In January 1984, in the town of Cascavel, located in the westernmost region of the state of Paraná (Brazil), the Brazilian Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) was formally established. Its geographical, historical, economic and social relevance is crystallized in its territorial dynamics, led by the agrarian reform settlements, cooperative production and marketing, and agribusiness, as well as its training schools. It is enhanced by all the defense and viability of family and peasant agriculture, based on the practice of agro ecology. The evolution of this process forms a geographical phenomenon of extraordinary magnitude towards the production of a social and spatial alternative.

Treballs Finals de Grau d'Història de l'Art, Facultat de Geografia i Història, Universitat de Barcelona, Curs: 2013-2014, Tutor: xxxI decided then to aim the investigation towards analysing the iconography presented on the 46 original posters at Olot’s museum collection. In view of the variety of nationalities, but mainly of European ascent, I would proceed to explore the artistic context in Europe. Focusing on the rise of the graphic arts and publicity in France, the formulation of models and prototypes but also the rise of the poster art sensation in Catalonia. This study breaks down the poster art phenomenon of the turn of the century, going through the European context and its emblematic figures. To set up a historical context, detect the influences and models that the graphic arts took up on in Europe and globally. A background needed to explore before entering the world of Cigarrillos París poster art. And finally examine the representation of women on the 46 posters of Olot’s museum collection

The panoply of Brucella: search for Type IV Secretion System effectors and characterization of lysozyme inhibitors

Among all the mechanisms of Brucella, we centered our study on the translocation of effector proteins to subvert the host cell and the inhibition of the host lysozyme activity. We have set up a new effector screening method based on assaying the interference with replication of the YFV. The screening showed 8 Brucella proteins that upregulate YFV and other 9 proteins that downregulate YFV. Moreover, it was showed that the Brucella protein named BAB1_0466 inhibits the lytic activity of lysozyme and is necessary for Brucella abortus survival in whole blood. In fact, BAB1_0466 could be important for B. abortus survival inside monocytes.

Deep Learning-based Cognitive Impairment Diseases Prediction and Assistance using Multimodal Data

In this project, we propose a mobile robot-based system capable of analyzing data from elderly people and patients with cognitive impairment diseases, such as aphasia or dementia. The project entails the deployment of two primary tasks that will be performed by the robot. The first task is the detection of these diseases in their early stages to initiate professional treatment, thereby improving the patient's quality of life. The other task focuses on automatic emotion detection, particularly during interactions with other people, in this case, clinicians. Additionally, the project aims to examine how the combination of different modalities, such as audio or text, can influence the model's results. Extensive research has been conducted on various dementia and aphasia datasets, as well as the implemented tasks. For this purpose, we utilized the DementiaBank and AphasiaBank datasets, which contain multimodal data in different formats, including video, audio, and audio transcriptions. We employed diverse models for the prediction task, including Convolutional Neural Networks for audio classification, Transformers for text classification, and a multimodal model combining both approaches. These models underwent testing on a separate test set, and the best results were achieved using the text modality, achieving a 90.36% accuracy in detecting dementia. Additionally, we conducted a detailed analysis of the available data to explain the obtained results and the model's explainability. The pipeline for automatic emotion recognition was evaluated by manually reviewing initial frames of one hundred randomly selected video samples from the dataset. This pipeline was also employed to recognize emotions in both healthy patients, and those with aphasia. The study revealed that individuals with aphasia express different emotional moods than healthy ones when listening to someone's speech, primarily due to their difficulties in understanding and expressing speech. Due to this, it negatively impacts their mood. Analyzing their emotional state can facilitate improved interactions by avoiding conversations that may have a negative impact on their mood, thus providing better assistance

When you find out that you can improve the way you are teaching, because you realize that some objectives are not being reached, it is a good time to develop an action research. In this case, students did not have interest in reading and they found it very boring. I got some data to understand why they had not reached the habit of reading for pleasure and I decided to implement some changes in my daily activities. This was the first time I carried out an ARP following the steps that can be seen in the current article.
