An analysis of a regular black hole interior model

We analyze the thermodynamical properties of the regular static and spherically symmetric black hole interior model presented by Mboyne and Kazanas. Equations for the thermodynamical quantities valid for an arbitrary density profile are deduced, and from them we show that the model is thermodynamically unstable. Evidence is also presented pointing to its dynamical instability. The gravitational entropy of this solution based on the Weyl curvature conjecture is calculated, following the recipe given by Rudjord, Gr$\varnothing$n and Sigbj$\varnothing$rn, and it is shown to have the expected behavior.Comment: 22 pages, 17 figures, accepted for publication in International Journal of Theoretical Physic

Frutos de rambután (Nephelium lappaceum L.) no son hospederos de moscas de la fruta: Anastrepha spp. y Ceratitis capitata (Wied.) – resultados de 10 años en el Soconusco, Chiapas, México

El rambután todav´ıa es un cultivo exótico para los países latinoamericanos. A México fue introducido desde hace 40 años, con gran expectativa para el futuro, sin embargo el área comercial todavía es mínima, debido a un desconocimiento del cultivo, por parte de investigadores y productores, y por falta de promociones profesionales en cuanto al cultivo, manejo de poscosecha y comercialización de este cultivo. Un obstáculo importante fueron las restricciones en cuanto a contar durante d´ecadas este cultivo como planta hospedera para Ceratitis capitata y el complejo de moscas de la fruta Anastrepha spp. En estudios minuciosos y a largo plazo algunos fruticultores trataron a entregar el comprobante científico que el fruto del rambután nunca es infestado por estas plagas. Desde 1993 hasta 2002 fueron realizados estudios de muestreo de frutos y de trampeo en plantaciones frutícolas con rambután. Los resultados demuestran de manera significativa que se puede encontrar moscas mediterráneas y del complejo Anastrepha spp. en las plantaciones sin embargo no se ha reportado ningún caso de un fruto de rambután infestado con larvas de estas moscas. Por esto fue posible lograr en septiembre de 2003 la cancelación de la ley que prohibió la exportación de frutas de rambután a Japón y a las EE.UU

Mineralogía de la fracción arcilla de suelos y sedimentos de la Cuenca de Maceda

[Resumen] Se estudia la mineralogía de la fracción arcilla de los sedimentos terciarios y cuaternarios que rellenan la depresión de Maceda,así como de las rocas que constituyen el marco y sus productos de alteración. Las rocas que rodean la cuenca están sometidas actual mente a un proceso de alteración de tipo hidrólisis ácida (caolinita, gibbsita y oxihidróxidos de hierro son los productos de alteración más significativos) Los sedimentos terciarios presentan en su fracción arcilla un filosilicato 1:1 dioctaédrico(haloisítico o caolinítico) como mineral más ahlndante, micas, micas degradadas, goethita y, ocasionalmente, hematita,observándose la presencia de vermiculitas de baja carga en las capas mas profundas. Los depósitos más recientes contienen abundante filo silicato 1:1 dioctaédrico de bajo grado de orden y gibbsita, micas degradadas en cantidades variables y goethita.[Abstract] The igneous and metamorphic rocks that surround the Maceda depressian are subjected to a weathering of acidic hydrolysis type (kaol inite, gibbsite and Fe-oxihydroxides are the more repl'esenta"LJ.ve weathering products). EL USO DE INHIBIDORES ENZIMÁTICOS DE LA METANOGÉNESIS EN RUMIANTES

Enzymatic inhibitors are molecules that bind to enzymes and decrease their activity. There are various inhibitors that have been widely studied and that have proven their effectiveness in reducing the production of enteric methane (CH4) in ruminants. However, their commercial use has been limited since they can present disadvantages, such as microbial adaptation, being toxic or harmful to the environment. The recent development of synthetic compounds with high potential to inhibit the production of CH4 and which have proven their effectiveness in the long term has increased the interest of researchers in this area of knowledge. In this study, different inhibitors of methanogenesis are analyzed from a historical perspective, placing special emphasis on 3-nitrooxypropanol, which has been evaluated under diverse experimental conditions with encouraging results.Los inhibidores enzimáticos son moléculas que se unen a enzimas y disminuyen su actividad. Existen diversos inhibidores que han sido ampliamente estudiados y que han demostrado su efectividad para reducir la producción de metano (CH4) entérico en rumiantes. Sin embargo, su uso comercial se ha visto limitado ya que pueden presentar desventajas como: adaptación microbiana, ser tóxicos o dañinos para el medio ambiente. El reciente desarrollo de compuestos sintéticos con elevado potencial para inhibir la producción de CH4 y que han probado su efectividad en el largo plazo ha incrementado el interés de los investigadores en esta área del conocimiento. En este trabajo se analizan diversos inhibidores de la metanogénesis desde una perspectiva histórica, poniendo especial énfasis en el 3-nitrooxypropanol, el cual ha sido evaluado bajo diversas condiciones experimentales con resultados alentadores

On Demonstrating Spectrum Selection Functionality for Opportunistic Networks

This paper presents a testbed platform to demonstrate and validate spectrum opportunity identification and spectrum selection functionalities in Opportunistic Networks (ONs). The hardware component of the testbed is based on reconfigurable devices able to transmit and receive data at different operating frequencies, which are dynamically configured. The software component has been developed to perform the creation and maintenance of ON radio links, including spectrum opportunity identification and selection decision making as well as all the necessary signaling to support the ON operation. Therefore, the presented platform provides a powerful tool for testing different algorithms in real operational radio environments under various interference conditions, thus enabling to gain deeper insight into the performance of algorithmic solutions, beyond the purely theoretical analyses based on models and/or simulations. Results presented in the paper validate the implementation conducted at the laboratory and illustrate the reconfigurability capabilities of the ON links under different conditions

Enumeration of left braces with additive group C2×C2×C4×C4C_2\times C_2\times C_4\times C_4

We show that the number of isomorphism classes of left braces of order~$64$ with additive group isomorphic to $C_2\times C_2\times C_4\times C_4$ is $10\,326\,821$. This completes the classification of left braces of order~$64$, that turn out to fall into $15\,095\,601$ isomorphism classes.Comment: Ric.
