Synthesis of nitroxyl radical by direct nucleophilic functionalization of a C-H bond in the azadiene systems
Cyclic dinitrones underwent nucleophilic substitution of the hydrogen atom in the reaction with a paramagnetic carbanion, the lithium derivative of 4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-1-oxyl 3-oxide, to give polyfunctional nitronyl nitroxyls. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media New York
Kudoa unicapsula n. sp. (Myxosporea: Kudoidae) a parasite of the Mediterranean mullets Liza ramada and L. aurata (Teleostei: Mugilidae)
A new multivalvulid myxozoan parasite, Kudoa unicapsula n. sp., is described from the intestinal mesentery, intestine and pyloric caeca of the thin-lipped grey mullet Liza ramada (Risso 1826) and the golden grey mullet L. aurata (Risso, 1810) from the Mediterranean coastal waters of Spain. It is characterized by the presence of elongated, rice corn-like white cysts of 0.47–0.56×0.18–0.38 mm, filled with tetracapsulate, slightly asymmetric spores, rectangular in apical view and tear-shaped in lateral view with four polar capsules of considerably different size and slightly unequal spore valves with rounded edges, overlapping each other on the apex of the spore. One large polar capsule includes a polar filament coiled in two to three turns, and the other three polar capsules, which are very small, posses only a rudimental filament. Both light and electron microscopy data showed that this species differs from all previously described Kudoa spp. with unequal polar capsules. The molecular analysis based on 18S and 28S ribosomal deoxyribonucleic acid DNA sequence data of K. unicapsula n. sp. indicates a close relationship and thus phylogenetic clustering together with K. trifolia, a myxozoan from the same host and the same geographical location
Phase field modelling voids nucleation and growth in binary systems
We present a comprehensive study of voids formation, nucleation and growth in
a prototype model of binary alloys subjected to irradiation by using a combined
approach based on phase field and rate theories. It is shown that voids
formation is caused by interaction of irradiation-produced vacancies through
elastic deformation of a lattice and vacancy coupling with composition field of
the alloy. Phase diagrams illustrating the formation of states related to solid
solution, phase decomposition, and patterning are obtained. Formation of voids
from supersaturated ensemble of vacancies is accompanied by composition
rearrangement of alloy components. It was found that elastic inhomogeneity
leading to the formation of anisotropic precipitates in an initially prepared
binary alloy results in the formation of a void super-lattice under
irradiation. It was shown that voids nucleate and grow with dose according to
diffusion controlled precipitation processes, where universal dynamics of voids
growth is revealed. Estimations of main quantitative and statistical
characteristics of voids by using material parameters relevant to most of
alloys and steels give good agreement with experimental observations.Comment: 21 pages, 10 figure

social prerequisites of global transformations and market changes in
international markets for organic agricultural food. The aim of this paper is
the theoretical and practical study of determinants for globalized development of global and domestic organic food market and justification of priorities in the implementation of national interests in this field. The peculiarities of the market development of organic agricultural food are
identified and its structure is investigated. Given the processes taking place in the world markets, the imperfections of institutional support of the Ukrainian market is highlighted. The conclusions regarding the importance of creating conditions for operation of agricultural markets integrated into international ones in Ukraine were drawn
Comparative Study of Deep Learning Models for Automatic Coronary Stenosis Detection in X-ray Angiography
The article explores the application of machine learning approach to detect both single-vessel and multivessel coronary artery disease from X-ray angiography. Since the interpretation of coronary angiography images requires interventional cardiologists to have considerable training, our study is aimed at analysing, training, and assessing the potential of the existing object detectors for classifying and detecting coronary artery stenosis using angiographic imaging series. 100 patients who underwent coronary angiography at the Research Institute for Complex Issues of Cardiovascular Diseases were retrospectively enrolled in the study. To automate the medical data analysis, we examined and compared three models (SSD MobileNet V1, Faster-RCNN ResNet-50 V1, FasterRCNN NASNet) with various architecture, network complexity, and a number of weights. To compare developed deep learning models, we used the mean Average Precision (mAP) metric, training time, and inference time. Testing results show that the training/inference time is directly proportional to the model complexity. Thus, Faster-RCNN NASNet demonstrates the slowest inference time. Its mean inference time per one image made up 880 ms. In terms of accuracy, FasterRCNN ResNet-50 V1 demonstrates the highest prediction accuracy. This model has reached the mAP metric of 0.92 on the validation dataset. SSD MobileNet V1 has demonstrated the best inference time with the inference rate of 23 frames per second
Morphometric and histochemical characteristics of the cribriform type of intraductal carcinoma of the mammary gland
Introduction: Due to the increasing morbidity and mortality rates from breast cancer, the problem of early, especially morphological diagnosis, continues to be important.
The aim of this study to investigate the karyometric and histochemical features of cribriform pattern of parenchyma of intraductal carcinoma of the mammary gland.
Materials and methods: Operational and biopsy material was studied in form of serial sections of micropreparations of cribriform type intraductal carcinoma of the mammary
gland. Fixation with 10% neutral formalin, paraffin sections are stained with hematoxylin and eosin, complex Bergman + Periodic Acid - Schiff (PAS) reaction + alcyan blue.
Cariometry was performed on 100 parenchymal tumor cell, tenth logarithms of the nucleus volume (LgV) were determined, kariocavirogram was constructed.
Results: The atypical cellular polymorphism of the tumor, cribriform structures with cancerous cells in the state of apoptosis was revealed. The modal nuclear classes are defined in the interval LgV 0,75; 0,9; 1,2; 1,45, and do not comply with the law of rhythmic growth of nuclei in normal and confirm the cellular atypism of a cancerous tumor. Results are deprived of subjectivity through mathematical analysis of data in percentages (%). Histochemically, in the cytoplasm of cancer cells, precursors of lipids were detected in the form of a Schiff (PAS) positive reaction; alcyan-positive basal membrane of the duct; Bergman-positive protein structures in the nuclei. Conclusions: Cariometry and histochemical analysis of intraductal carcinoma of the mammary gland is an objective and accessible complex method for the analysis of atypical cells, reveals the degree of differentiation, apoptosis of cells and non-invasive stage of cancer
Redox-induced change in the ligand coordination mode
© 2014 American Chemical Society. The reaction of cobalt(II) pivalate with a spin-labeled Schiff base (HL1) in organic solvents formed trinuclear complex [Co3(Piv)2L1 2L2 2]·Solv (Solv is Me2CO and/or C7H16 and CH3CN) containing both nitroxide L1 and the product of its single-electron reduction, nitrone L2. The formation of [Co3(Piv)2L1 2L2 2] was a consequence of an unusual phenomenon, which we called "redox-induced change in the ligand coordination mode". A reduction of L1 to L2 led to a change in the set of donor atoms and even in the size of the metallocycle. This phenomenon was also found for mononuclear [CrL1 2L2] and [FeL1 2L2]·Me2CO
Observation and Control of Laser-Enabled Auger Decay
Single photon laser enabled Auger decay (spLEAD) has been redicted
theoretically [Phys. Rev. Lett. 111, 083004 (2013)] and here we report its
first experimental observation in neon. Using coherent, bichromatic
free-electron laser pulses, we have detected the process and coherently
controlled the angular distribution of the emitted electrons by varying the
phase difference between the two laser fields. Since spLEAD is highly sensitive
to electron correlation, this is a promising method for probing both
correlation and ultrafast hole migration in more complex systems.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure
