Un método para estimar la posición y la dirección del líder en un conjunto de objetos móviles

RESUMEN: Patrones de movimiento pueden ser identificados cuando se estudia un grupo de entidades móviles, como un grupo de personas, una bandada de pájaros, un banco de peces, un convoy de vehículos, entre otros. En este artículo, se analiza un patrón, conocido como liderazgo. Informalmente, este patrón se caracteriza por una entidad móvil llamada líder que motiva o representa el comportamiento de un grupo con el fin de alcanzar un objetivo durante un período. Se propone un método formal para estimar la posición y la dirección donde un líder debería estar ubicado y orientado en un punto del tiempo con el fin de liderar un grupo. Estas estimaciones pueden también ser útiles para verificar la consistencia de los datos de un patrón de liderazgo y para estimar la información faltante (posición y dirección) de un líder en un tiempo específico, i.e., un proceso de imputación. Con el fin de mostrar la conveniencia de la propuesta, se implementó y se desarrolló una serie de experimentos mediante Netlogo, un entorno programable de modelado para la simulación de fenómenos naturales y sociales.ABSTRACT: Movement patterns can be identified when studying a group of moving entities such as a group of people, a flock of birds, a school of fish, a convoy of vehicles, among others. In this paper, it is analyzed a pattern, known as leadership. Informally, this pattern is characterized by a moving entity called leader that motivates or represents the behavior of the group in order to reach a goal during a period. A formal method is proposed to estimate the position and the direction where a leader should be located and headed at a timepoint in order to lead a group. These estimations can also be useful to check the consistency of the data about a leadership pattern, and to estimate the missing information (position and direction) of a leader at a specific time, i.e., an imputation process. Students in the primary and secondary schools regarding the use of ITC as tools of support for their learning

En la educación mundial, en las últimas décadas, se habla de las Tecnologías de la Información y de la Comunicación (en adelante TIC) como herramientas mediadoras para apoyar los procesos de aprendizaje de los estudiantes. Sin embargo, en Colombia, la implementación de estas mediaciones ha sido más una imposición del mismo sistema hacia los maestros, que un proceso en el cual los estudiantes tengan participación y puedan expresar sus gustos y preferencias por involucrar en su proceso formativo todo tipo de herramientas tecnológicas, que para ellos como nativos digitales son de uso común y frecuente.El objetivo principal de esta investigación consiste en evidenciar por qué el sistema educativo colombiano, con respecto al uso de tecnologías, no está teniendo en cuenta las preferencias y gustos de los estudiantes, quienes como nativos digitales necesitan la transición de las TIC a tecnologías del aprendizaje y del conocimiento. Esta investigación se orientó bajo el diseño no experimental, descriptivo de carácter cuantitativo; los participantes fueron estudiantes de Instituciones Educativas públicas del Área Metropolitana. La muestra se seleccionó de forma no aleatoria, definida por conveniencia. Como resultado de dicho muestreo se definieron: Instituciones Educativas públicas de los municipios de Medellín, Bello y Girardota; el instrumento de recolección de datos fue la encuesta, que se aplicó a los estudiantes.Los resultados encontrados indican que los estudiantes, en su mayoría, utilizan dispositivos tecnológicos para su uso personal, y les gustaría que todos los maestros transformaran sus estrategias didácticas hacia el uso de tecnologías en el aula de clase, utilizando múltiples dispositivos y aplicaciones que permitan clases más dinámicas y divertidas. Se puede concluir que los diferentes sistemas educativos en algunos países del mundo, incluyendo a Colombia, no están preparados para formar a los actuales y futuros nativos digitales, y que una de las principales causas que genera la brecha digital es que no se está teniendo en cuenta la opinión de los estudiantes, sus gustos y preferencias de cómo les gustaría aprender.In global education in recent decades, the Information Technology and Communication (ITC) as a mediating tool to support the learning processhas been discussed; but in the context of Colombia, the implementation of these tools has been more an imposition for the teachers than a steady process in which students have not been able to participate and express their motivation to engage in a training about tools which for them are common and of frequentuse.The main objective of this research is to demonstrate why the Colombian Educational System, in regard to the use of technologies, does not take into consideration the preferences and likes of students, who being digital natives need to find a transition from the ICT to the learning and knowledge technologies. This research was carried out following the descriptive non-experimental quantitative design; the participants are students from public educational institutions from the Metropolitan Area. The sample was not selected randomly, and it was defined by convenience. As a result of such sampling, public educational institutions of the municipalities of Medellin, Bello and Girardota were selected; the data collection instrument was a survey applied to students.The findings show that students mostly use technological devices for personal use and they would like the teachers to incorporate the use of different technological devices in their teaching strategies, using multiple applications that will help them have more dynamic and fun classes. It can be concluded that the different educational systems in some countries like Colombia are not prepared to train current and future digital natives, and that one of the main causes for the digital divide is that those systems do not take into account the opinion of the students, their likes and preferences on how they would like to learn

ICT Evaluation Prototype: A step towards curriculum change

Las nuevas tendencias educativas han generado un cambio en la mentalidad de todos los actores de los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje. Esto ha hecho que las Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones -TIC- sean tomadas en cuenta y utilizadas masivamente por docentes y estudiantes, para el aprovechamiento de los espacios académicos y el mejoramiento de la calidad educativa. Los proyectos de investigación miran ahora la informática educativa como una rama que puede solucionar a las poco cambiantes alternativas de la educación tradicional, dando la posibilidad a las universidades de abrirse hacia los ambientes virtuales de formación y convertir las TIC en medios de compartición y colaboración que amplifican las posibilidades de conocimiento. El prototipo mostrado en este artículo es un esfuerzo de un grupo de investigadores por facilitar la adecuación de las Tic en los currículos, y sirve de motivación para toda la comunidad universitaria en cuanto a las bondades en el trabajo que su adopción representa. New trends in education have caused a shift in the way all stakeholders involved in education understand the teaching-learning process. This has led ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) to be taken into account and used massively by teachers and students thereby improving their academic environments and the quality of education. Research projects now look at educational computing like a branch that can solve the little changing traditional education alternatives, thus giving the possibility to open universities to virtual learning environments and convert the information technologies in sharing and collaboration platforms that can amplify the possibilities of knowledge. The prototype shown in this paper is an effort by a group of researchers to facilitate the adaptation of ICT in the curriculum, and serves as a motivation for the entire university community in regard to the benefits we can draw from adopting such ICT approach

Activity, structural features and in silico digestion of antidiabetic peptides

Funding This research was funded by the grant PID2020-114137RB-I00 funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033Food antidiabetic peptides inhibit the enzymes involved in the regulation of the glycemic index (e.g. a-amylase, a-glucosidase and dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV)). This work reviews the antidiabetic peptide sequences reported in the literature, with activity confirmed by using synthetic peptides, and critically discusses their structural features. Moreover, it provides an overview of the potency of in silico analysis tools to predict the in vitro antidiabetic activity of DPP-IV-inhibitory peptides. In addition, the potential degradation of the most active peptides during digestion was evaluated in silico. Therefore, this work advances our understanding on the structure-activity relationship of antidiabetic peptides and provides new insights on their stability during digestion.MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033: PID2020-114137RB-I0

Sistematización de experiencias educativas transformadoras

Analizar cómo las instituciones educativas intervenidas posibilitan la construcción de vínculos sociales desde prácticas interculturales que reconozcan la diversidadEste proceso de investigación se fundamenta en los principios de la sistematización de experiencias educativas, en la cual se buscó resaltar aquellas que tenían conexión con procesos de interculturalidad, diversidad e inclusión, en articulación con la sublínea de investigación “Procesos educativos para la diversidad y la transformación cultural” de la Maestría en Educación de la Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios. Este informe da cuenta de los hallazgos más representativos de experiencias que se desarrollan en seis regiones diferentes de Colombia. El ejercicio de investigación se lleva a cabo en el marco de la estrategia formativa denominada “Proyectos Sombrilla” para lo cual se consolidó un grupo de 13 investigadores que han adelantado de forma sistemática el ejercicio de investigación que el lector podrá conocer a partir de este informe construido colectivamente por todos los integrantes del equipo. Grupo español de cirugía torácica asistida por videoimagen: método, auditoría y resultados iniciales de una cohorte nacional prospectiva de pacientes tratados con resecciones anatómicas del pulmón

Introduction: our study sought to know the current implementation of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for anatomical lung resections in Spain. We present our initial results and describe the auditing systems developed by the Spanish VATS Group (GEVATS). Methods: we conducted a prospective multicentre cohort study that included patients receiving anatomical lung resections between 12/20/2016 and 03/20/2018. The main quality controls consisted of determining the recruitment rate of each centre and the accuracy of the perioperative data collected based on six key variables. The implications of a low recruitment rate were analysed for '90-day mortality' and 'Grade IIIb-V complications'. Results: the series was composed of 3533 cases (1917 VATS; 54.3%) across 33 departments. The centres' median recruitment rate was 99% (25-75th:76-100%), with an overall recruitment rate of 83% and a data accuracy of 98%. We were unable to demonstrate a significant association between the recruitment rate and the risk of morbidity/mortality, but a trend was found in the unadjusted analysis for those centres with recruitment rates lower than 80% (centres with 95-100% rates as reference): grade IIIb-V OR=0.61 (p=0.081), 90-day mortality OR=0.46 (p=0.051). Conclusions: more than half of the anatomical lung resections in Spain are performed via VATS. According to our results, the centre's recruitment rate and its potential implications due to selection bias, should deserve further attention by the main voluntary multicentre studies of our speciality. The high representativeness as well as the reliability of the GEVATS data constitute a fundamental point of departure for this nationwide cohort

The Research Journey as a Challenge Towards New Trends

The academic community of the department of Risaralda, in its permanent interest in evidencing the results of the research processes that are carried out from the Higher Education Institutions and as a product of the VI meeting of researchers of the department of Risaralda held in November 2021 presents its work: “The journey of research as a challenge towards new trends”, which reflects the result of the latest research and advances in different lines of knowledge in Agricultural Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Technology and Information Sciences, which seek to solve and meet the demands of the different sectors. Contribución al desarrollo social a través de la extensión universitaria

La Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira (UTP), a través de la Vicerrectoría de Investigaciones Innovación y Extensión, busca promover la extensión universitaria como una estrategia que permite el intercambio, la aplicación y la integración del conocimiento científico, tecnológico, artístico y cultural; al igual que la vinculación con la realidad social, cultural, económica y productiva de la región y del país, al darle valor a las capacidades institucionales y al generar una articulación e integración entre la docencia y la investigación, la cual permita la identificación de problemáticas y la propuesta de alternativas de solución; además de las oportunidades en el sector externo para realizar intervenciones y alianzas que conduzcan a fortalecer y aportar al desarrollo económico, cultural y el bienestar de la comunidad en general. En este sentido, para el año 2018 se ofertó, a los miembros de la comunidad universitaria, la «Convocatoria interna para la financiación de proyectos de extensión social, cultural y artístico» cuya ejecución se realizaría en el año 2019 y cuyo objetivo era fomentar el desarrollo de proyectos de carácter social, cultural, artístico, los cuales permitieran la solución y transformación de problemáticas que involucraran o beneficiaran sectores de diferentes comunidades. En esta convocatoria fueron financiados catorce proyectos que involucran a diferentes estamentos de la sociedad civil en torno al planteamiento y a la discusión de problemáticas, conflictos y sus posibles soluciones, así como a la identificación de oportunidades de progresos tecnológicos, ambientales, educativos o de creación artística, los cuales involucren o beneficien sectores de diferentes comunidades
