On all possible static spherically symmetric EYM solitons and black holes
We prove local existence and uniqueness of static spherically symmetric
solutions of the Einstein-Yang-Mills equations for any action of the rotation
group (or SU(2)) by automorphisms of a principal bundle over space-time whose
structure group is a compact semisimple Lie group G. These actions are
characterized by a vector in the Cartan subalgebra of g and are called regular
if the vector lies in the interior of a Weyl chamber. In the irregular cases
(the majority for larger gauge groups) the boundary value problem that results
for possible asymptotically flat soliton or black hole solutions is more
complicated than in the previously discussed regular cases. In particular,
there is no longer a gauge choice possible in general so that the Yang-Mills
potential can be given by just real-valued functions. We prove the local
existence of regular solutions near the singularities of the system at the
center, the black hole horizon, and at infinity, establish the parameters that
characterize these local solutions, and discuss the set of possible actions and
the numerical methods necessary to search for global solutions. That some
special global solutions exist is easily derived from the fact that su(2) is a
subalgebra of any compact semisimple Lie algebra. But the set of less trivial
global solutions remains to be explored.Comment: 26 pages, 2 figures, LaTeX, misprints corrected, 1 reference adde

Global behavior of solutions to the static spherically symmetric EYM equations
The set of all possible spherically symmetric magnetic static
Einstein-Yang-Mills field equations for an arbitrary compact semi-simple gauge
group was classified in two previous papers. Local analytic solutions near
the center and a black hole horizon as well as those that are analytic and
bounded near infinity were shown to exist. Some globally bounded solutions are
also known to exist because they can be obtained by embedding solutions for the
case which is well understood. Here we derive some asymptotic
properties of an arbitrary global solution, namely one that exists locally near
a radial value , has positive mass at and develops no
horizon for all . The set of asymptotic values of the Yang-Mills
potential (in a suitable well defined gauge) is shown to be finite in the
so-called regular case, but may form a more complicated real variety for models
obtained from irregular rotation group actions.Comment: 43 page

Ricci Flow Gravity
A theory of gravitation is proposed, modeled after the notion of a Ricci
flow. In addition to the metric an independent volume enters as a fundamental
geometric structure. Einstein gravity is included as a limiting case. Despite
being a scalar-tensor theory the coupling to matter is different from
Jordan-Brans-Dicke gravity. In particular there is no adjustable coupling
constant. For the solar system the effects of Ricci flow gravity cannot be
distinguished from Einstein gravity and therefore it passes all classical
tests. However for cosmology significant deviations from standard Einstein
cosmology will appear.Comment: 15 pages. V2: improved presentation, in particular Jordan vs.

Classical Yang-Mills Black hole hair in anti-de Sitter space
The properties of hairy black holes in Einstein–Yang–Mills (EYM) theory are reviewed, focusing on spherically symmetric solutions. In particular, in asymptotically anti-de Sitter space (adS) stable black hole hair is known to exist for frak su(2) EYM. We review recent work in which it is shown that stable hair also exists in frak su(N) EYM for arbitrary N, so that there is no upper limit on how much stable hair a black hole in adS can possess
Geometric flows and black hole entropy
Perelman has given a gradient formulation for the Ricci flow, introducing an
``entropy function'' which increases monotonically along the flow.We pursue a
thermodynamic analogy and apply Ricci flow ideas to general relativity. We
investigate whether Perelman's entropy is related to
(Bekenstein-Hawking)geometric entropy as familiar from black hole
thermodynamics. From a study of the fixed points of the flow we conclude that
Perelman entropy is not connected to geometric entropy. However, we notice that
there is a very similar flow which DOES appear to be connected to geometric
entropy. The new flow may find applications in black hole physics suggesting
for instance, new approaches to the Penrose inequality.Comment: 11 pages, no figure
Stationary Black Holes: Uniqueness and Beyond
The spectrum of known black-hole solutions to the stationary Einstein
equations has been steadily increasing, sometimes in unexpected ways. In
particular, it has turned out that not all black-hole-equilibrium
configurations are characterized by their mass, angular momentum and global
charges. Moreover, the high degree of symmetry displayed by vacuum and
electro-vacuum black-hole spacetimes ceases to exist in self-gravitating
non-linear field theories. This text aims to review some developments in the
subject and to discuss them in light of the uniqueness theorem for the
Einstein-Maxwell system.Comment: Major update of the original version by Markus Heusler from 1998.

Once-weekly selinexor, bortezomib, and dexamethasone versus twice-weekly bortezomib and dexamethasone in patients with multiple myeloma (BOSTON): a randomised, open-label phase 3 trial
Background Selinexor with dexamethasone has demonstrated activity in patients with heavily pretreated multiple myeloma (MM). In a phase 1b/2 study, the combination of oral selinexor with the proteasome inhibitor (PI) bortezomib, and dexamethasone (SVd) induced high response rates with low rates of peripheral neuropathy, the main dose-limiting toxicity of bortezomib. The aim of this trial was to evaluate the clinical benefit of weekly SVd versus standard bortezomib and dexamethasone (Vd) in patients with previously treated MM. Methods This phase 3, randomised, open label trial was conducted at 123 sites in 21 countries. Patients who were previously treated with one to three lines of therapy, including PIs were randomised (1:1) to selinexor (100 mg once-weekly) plus bortezomib (1·3 mg/m2 once-weekly) and dexamethasone (20 mg twice-weekly) [SVd] or bortezomib (1·3 mg/m2 twice-weekly) and dexamethasone (20 mg 4 times per week) [Vd]. Randomisation was done using interactive response technology and stratified by previous PI therapy, lines of treatment, and MM stage. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival (PFS) in the intention-to-treat population. Patients who received at least one dose of study treatment were included in the safety population. This trial is registered at ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03110562. Findings Between June 2017 and February 2019, 402 patients were randomised: 195 to SVd and 207 to Vd. Median PFS was 13·93 (95% CI 11·73–NE) with SVd versus 9·46 months (8·11–10·78) with Vd; HR 0·70, [95% CI 0·53–0·93]; P=0.0075. Most frequent grade ≥3 adverse events (SVd vs Vd) were thrombocytopenia (77 [40%] vs 35 [17%]), fatigue (26 [13%] vs 2 [1%]), anaemia (31 [16%] vs 20 [10%]), and pneumonia (22 [11%] vs 22 [11%]). Peripheral neuropathy rates (overall, 32·3% vs 47·1%; OR 0·52, [95% CI 0·35-0·79]; P=0.0010 and grade ≥2, 21·0% vs 34·3%; OR 0·50, [95% CI 0·32-0·79]; P=0.0013) were lower with SVd. There were 47 (24%) deaths on SVd and 62 (30%) on Vd. Interpretation Once-weekly SVd is a novel, effective, and convenient treatment option for patients with MM who have received 1-3 prior therapies.
