Advanced interface systems for readout, control, and self-calibration of MEMS resonant gyroscopes

    Get PDF
MEMS gyroscopes have become an essential component in consumer, industrial and automotive applications, owing to their small form factor and low production cost. However, their poor stability, also known as drift, has hindered their penetration into high-end tactical and navigation applications, where highly stable bias and scale factor are required over long period of time to avoid significant positioning error. Improving the long-term stability of MEMS gyroscopes has created new challenges in both the physical sensor design and fabrication, as well as the system architecture used for interfacing with the physical sensor. The objective of this research is to develop interface circuits and systems for in-situ control and self-calibration of MEMS resonators and resonant gyroscopes to enhance the stability of bias and scale factor without the need for any mechanical rotary stage, or expensive bulky lab characterization equipment. The self-calibration techniques developed in this work provide 1-2 orders of magnitude improvement in the drift of bias and scale factor of a resonant gyroscope over temperature and time.Ph.D

Energy is one of the most important influential factors on economic growth. Water is one of the main inputs for many other sectors. In this study, in order to see the effects of water sector investment from production function, we use economic time series database of national accounts in central bank, vice-presidency for strategic planning and supervision, and Iran water resources management co., which were gathered during 1980-2010. As economic growth and different sectors value added (agriculture, industry and mine, services, and petroleum sectors) variables used in empirical analysis was integrated of order one, employed Granger causality test. Results show for different sectors (agriculture, industry and mine, services, and petroleum sectors) in Iranian economy implies that the elasticity of water investment in agricultural sector is significant, and positive, and for the rest of the other sectors is non-significant. Also results show that in the short-run and long run, the Granger causality runs from economic growth to water resource investment and vice versa in Iran. Key words: water investment, economic development, cointegration

Review of the Books of Persian Literature in the High School of the Old System and the Second Medium of the New System

Many educators believe that the intellectual, national, cultural, religious, and literary foundations of each generation are laid in childhood and adolescence. An important part of this is the responsibility of each country's education system. Textbooks are one of the most important tools in this formation. Persian books are a means of narrating human thoughts and imaginations due to their attention to fiction. The present article is a research on the books of Persian literature of the old educational system and Persian of the new educational system. In this study, we intend to examine the books of Persian language and literature of the old system and the Persian books of the second secondary school in the new educational system. Classical literature, contemporary literature, poetic, prose and fusion literature, Iranian and world literature are some of the components that are examined in this research. The authors appear to have focused on the text in older books and to pay more attention to self-examination in new books. This indicates that the new books emphasize greater student engagement

A Study and Analysis of Sanai's Illustration Techniques With a Mountain in Divan and Hadigheh al-Haqiqa

Sanai is considered one of the prominent mystic poets in the field of Persian literature. Relying on various concepts and techniques, he has described his ideas and by simplifying the ambiguous categories, he has increased the power of understanding of his audience. "Mountain" is one of the natural elements that has been repeated many times in Divan and Hadiqah al-Haqiqah. Using literary arrays and various forms of imagination, the poet has created new images that are somehow related to the "mountain". In the present article, based on descriptive method and content analysis technique, Sanai illustration techniques have been explored. The most important findings of the research show that the poet, using literary tools and symbolic capacities of the mountain, has succeeded in representing and explaining the moral and educational, mystical and epistemological concepts, romance and in some cases, descriptive application. And has been praised. Among imaginary forms, simile has the highest frequency and exaggeration has been the most frequent literary array. Using the aesthetic capacities of "Mountain", Sanai, in addition to creating pristine literary images, has made his epistemological ideas attractive and objective

Insha’ Allah (God’s Willing) and its Functions in Persian

This study takes as primary the analysis of the use of the Quranic verse ‘insha’allah’ in Persian language to come up with the functions it serves in the context of Iran. Based on the findings of the research, there are eight major functions of ‘insha’allah’ in Persian which are classified under three broad categories of ‘Being a Muslim’, ‘Dealing with emotions’, and ‘Displaying indirectness’. Moreover, the results obtained from the current study were compared and contrasted to the ones achieved from Arabs’ society to bring forward the similarities and differences between Iranian and Arab individuals in employing this Quranic verse.Key words: Politeness strategies; Direct/ indirect speech acts; Face; Insha’ alla

Investigation of Polar and Nonpolar Cyclotides Separation from Violet Extract Through Microfluidic Chip

Cyclotides (CTs) as a cyclic peptide obtained from different groups of plants have been very attractable field of research for scientists because of their specific properties like their natural function as host defense agents. CTs are bioactive peptides from plants that characterized by their head-to-tail cyclic backbone and knotted arrangement of their three conserved disulfide bonds. Their natural function is thought to be as host defense agents and a single plant can express dozens to hundreds of CTs. CTs stand out as a family of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) because of their exceptional stability, structural plasticity, unique biochemical target, and Gram-negative selective antimicrobial action. These features together with recent advancements in the methods of production of CTs make them an intriguing prospect from a drug development perspective. To accomplish this aim, as part of a separation, detection and research of anti-cancer properties CTs study, we investigate the separation of cyclotides in violets into polar and non-polar groups by microfluidic chips

An Approach to the Anthropological Theory of the Qur’an and Hadith and Their Roles in Reducing Environmental Degradation

    Get PDF
Background: According to the Qur’an, man is the servant and the successor of Allah, the representative of prosperity on earth, and has the responsibility for the universe. This approach will create a constructive human interaction with the environment. Environmental degradation is against the will of Allah. It originates from ignorance, human selfishness, passions, and evil temptations, manifest in greed, arrogance, and extravagance. If humans control these abnormal factors and follow Qur’an teachings, they will enjoy a healthy environment that is a universal right. This paper seeks to study the anthropological theory of the Qur’an and its role in reducing environmental degradation. Methods: Based on the descriptive-analytical design, we explored 70 verses of the Holy Qur’an in which the words samā’, ‘ard, mas’ƫl, khalÄ«fah, shaytān, and those are cognate with the Arabic verbs sa-khkha-ra, ha-ra-sa, sa-ra-fa, ki-ba-ra, ha-wā, ‘a-ba-da, and ‘a-ma-ra, as well as the related articles, books, and philological and exegetical sources. We investigated the Qur’an to find the effect of awareness and more attention of human beings to the dimensions of man’s creation to reduce environmental degradation. These issues will be discussed in two parts: 1) the anthropology and the dimensions of human creation in the Qur’an, and 2) the causes of environmental degradation. Results: This study showed that the survival of life and human enjoyment of a healthy environment depends on enough knowledge of oneself, seeking help from Allah, and following the Qur’anic guidelines. These facts effectively control internal and external causes of environmental degradation, including ignorance, egoism, selfishness, and evil temptations. These actions destroy the roots of greed, arrogance, and extravagance in human beings. For this reason, Allah demands humans to develop earth, care for and rescue it from any destruction, avoid extravagance, and observe justice. Conclusion: Meditating in the Qur’an, the man knows his creative dimensions and environmental degradation factors that are incompatible with nature and are rooted in some of the inner and outer dimensions of human personality. Hence, he will consciously enjoy sustainable development and maintaining a healthy environment. This behavior will then reduce anomalies in the environment on his part
