State-owned Rural Bank Performance: Do Government Ownership and Corporate Governance Uniqueness Matter?

It has been widely recognized that ownership structure has an impact on firm performance. This paper examines whether rural banks owned by government have poorer performance than those owned by private parties with the emphasis on corporate governance uniqueness of state-owned rural banks. 42 rural banks in Indonesia has been selected as the sample. MANOVA test is used to investigate the difference performance between the two types of the rural banks. The results show that state-owned rural banks perform poorer than their privately-owned counterparts. It is indicated by lower ROA ratio and higher OEOI and NPL ratios. The important implication of this finding suggets that government ownership impede boards of rural banks to implement good corporate governance practices in order to improve their banks performance

. Based on the results of observations, learning subjects Basic Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering in Vocational High Schools showed low learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to improve student learning outcomes by using audio-visual media in the student facilitator and explaining learning model. This research is a class action research consisting of two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection activities. The research subjects were 35 male students in class X Machining at SMK Negeri 1 Cibeber for the 2020/2021 academic year. Based on the results of the written test conducted at the end of cycle I, an average value of 69.92 was obtained with 72% classical completeness. Implementation of improvements in cycle II increased student learning outcomes, with an average score of 78.30 and 76.92% classical completeness.   &nbsp

Relationship for The Establishment of Local Regulations in The Job Creation Law

The job creation law was created to open Indonesia's widest possible investment climate. But so far, investors still face obstacles on investment in the form of complex regulations. This can be seen from the disharmony and lack of coordination between regional and central government regulations. In that regard, how is the relationship between establishing local regulations in job creation law? The method used in this research is normative legal research with a qualitative approach method with a focus on regulations and related data to answer problems. It can be concluded that Article 174 of the Job Creation law adds rules regarding the relationship between the central and local governments, namely the authority of local governments as part of the presidential authority. Article 176 a quo also changes several local government authorities. For example, the licensing authority in Article 350 of Law Number 23 of 2014. Under Government regulations Number 6 of 2021, Article 3 regarding the Implementation of Business Licensing in the Regions states that such act is carried out by the Central Government, Provincial Government, and City/Regency Government following their respective authorities based on the provisions of laws and regulations. From the licensing rules perspective, it is not executive preview as a form of preventive supervision but top-down control that dominates. PENGARUH MANUVER KENDARAAN PARKIR PADA BADAN JALAN TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK LALU LINTAS DAN BIAYA OPERASIONAL KENDARAAN (STUDI KASUS PADA JALAN BRIGADIR POLISI ABDUL KADIR) KOTA PALEMBANG

By having the parking activity on both sides of road, right and left which use a part of road,it causes the decrease of road capacity and road service level on Jalan Abdul Kadir. It also influences the volume, the speed and the density on the street.The purpose of the research is to find out parking activity influence level on both road sides, right and left, to know the influence of vehicles’ maneuver while entering and leaving on street parking toward traffic characteristic, to find out the delayed time caused by of street parking vehicles’ maneuver, to know financial loss because of delay relating to vehicles operational cost, to find out the alternative solution of road performance which caused by on street parking activity.From the analysist result, it was obtained that the road capacity was equal to 3,251.03 emp/h. The peak hour factor (PHF) or road service was 0.61. It was less than 0.7. The traffic capacity after on street parking was 3,129.7 emp/h with 0.64 PHF. It was less than 0.7. It means there was capacity reduction. The road  capacity can be seen on maximum traffic volume or on peak hours on Monday at 09.00 till 10.00. It was 1,907 emp/h, the average speed (S) was 40.51km/h, and the density or D was 47.06 emp/km. The average delay was 5.61second/hour. The vehicles operational cost before delayed time calculating was Rp.  2,004.44/km. Meanwhile, after delayed time calculating was Rp.2.504.4/km. It can be concluded that there was financial loss about Rp 500.00/h each vehicle. Based on service level this street has not yet needed physical repair. It is adequate with the street management. Moreover, from the analysist which shows that the number of opposite parking vehicles maneuver was 199 of 493 vehicles which are going to be parked. It was about 40.36 % with delayed time about 6.75 second. From the above explanation, the writer suggets that the street become one way. By becoming one way street, there will be no opposite parking vehicles maneuver

Berdasarkan persentase dari wajib pajak yang terdaftar, SPT masuk tepat waktu, SPT masuk terlambat terdapat kenaikan dalam JUmlah maupun persentaesnya Sedangkan jumlah dan persentase untuk SPT yang tidak masuk terjadi penurunan sejak tahun 2005 sampai dengan tahun 2007. Dari hasil diatas, peneliti melihat sistem pengandalian manajemen yang diterapkan oleh Kantor Wilayah Direktorat Jenderal Pajak telah dapat meningkatkan kepatuhan wajib pajak yang berada di lingkungan kerjanya

Acute airway obstruction due to Ascaris Lumbricoides in a ventilated child

Ascaris lumbricoides or roundworm is a nematode causing infestation in about 1.3 billion people worldwide. We report a case of a 7-year-old patient who had head injury. He was admitted to the intensive care unit for mechanical ventilation after craniotomy and evacuation of extradural haemorrhage at the left temporoparietal area. While weaning off mechanical ventilation two days after admission, he developed an acute airway obstruction. Flexible bronchoscopy revealed a tube like foreign body obstructing the right and left bronchus. Emergency rigid bronchoscopy under general anaesthesia extracted an eight-centimetre long Ascaris lumbricoides. The patient’s ventilation and oxygenation improved drastically and he was discharged home 3 weeks later
