    Gerek okul yöneticileri ve gerekse okuldaki eğitim-öğretim hizmetini yürüten diğer görevliler, öğrencilerin ailelerini tanımadan, öğrenciler hakkında gerçekleri yeterince bilemezler. Ailelerle kurulan ilişkiler, öğrenciler hakkında daha geniş kapsamlı bilgiler edinilmesini ve dolayısıyla daha hoşgörülü ve uygun eğitim ortamlarının hazırlanabilmesini sağlar. Ayrıca bu ilişkiler yoluyla veliler de okul ve çocukarı hakkında daha sağlıklı bilgiler edinirler. Diğer yandan okul rehberlik programı, yalnızca okul içi etkinliklerle değil, aynı zamanda çevredeki kişi ve kurumlarla yapılan işbirliği yoluyla daha sağlıklı bir biçimde yürütülebilir. Aile, bu kişi ve kurumların başında gelir. Öğrenciye yapılacak rehberlik yardımının, etkili ve sürekli olabilmesi için velilerin de anlayış ve katılımının sağlanması gerekmektedir (Tan, 1976). Rehber danışmanlar, yalnızca öğrenci ve okul yönetimi için değil, aynı zamanda veliler ve toplum için de danışmanlık görevini yürütmek zorundadırlar

    A View of the Symbolic-experiential Family Therapy of Carl Whitaker through Movie Analysis

    The movie "Ya Sonra" is evaluated in respect to the basic concepts and principles of symbolic-experiential family therapy. Carl Whitaker, who called his approach "Psychotherapy of Absurdity" mainly emphasized the concepts of absurdity, experientiality, and symbolism. Based on the hypothesis that film analysis supports and develops theoretical information, this study aims to reveal the theoretical perspective of symbolic-experiential family therapy, and through the method of film analysis, exemplify the assumptions, perspectives, and emphases of therapy. Emotional deadness, pathology as a symptom of development, the focus person of the problem in the family, marriage greater than its parts, blind marriage, flexibility of roles, the role of therapist, seeing family and client, the objectives of therapy, and the techniques used in therapy are among the theoretical concepts of symbolic-experiential family therapy. To this end, these topics were addressed in the movie "Ya Sonra," which is about a woman in her seventh year of marriage who starts to feel that she does not belong in her marriage with her spouse and that she is seen as insignificant by her spouse. Therefore, she becomes identified as the patient in the family. The sensitivity of the spouses increases as the problem becomes more serious, eventually leading her to leave the house. The breakdown of communication between the spouses during the ensuing process finally results in divorce, due to a gradual increase in misunderstandings between the two. The previously described concepts were exemplified through analysis of the film. As a conclusion, it is believed that this study can serve as a resource to specialists by supporting the theoretical information concerning symbolic-experiential family therapy and exemplifying this approach in practice through the method of movie analysis

    Rational emotive behavior therapy from a new perspective

    The aim of this study is to give a different dimension to the Rational Emotional Behavioral Therapy (REBT) Approach. For this purpose, by using the induction method; Growth has been reached. By adding G to the ABCDEF process at the end of the study; a final dimension. Theory and applications of REBT relies on the A-B-C model. According to this model, A (Activating Event) is a phenomenon or the existence of an event or a person’s behavior. In other words, A is the activating event. According to the A-B-C model, C (emotive or behavioral consequence) is the individual’s emotive or behavioral reaction or consequence that follows it. A (the actual event) does not cause C. what plays the primary role in the formation of C is the persons belief about A, and that is B. A-B and C comes D (disputing). D is the questioning of irrational and dysfunctional beliefs. Although REBT makes use of some other cognitive, emotive, and behavioral components in order to help reduce irrational beliefs of clients to a minimum, it emphasizes this disputing process (D) both during therapy and in daily life. Clients eventually reach E, namely, effective behavior or life philosophy, which has a practical side. E (effects) provides the effects of cognitively re-thinking in a more rational behavior mode. In an interview conducted with Ellis in 2005, Ellis suggested F which forces people to obey new rational beliefs in order to strengthen E, which has an influence on dispute. It can be said that F is basically Functional Feeling and Behavior which ensures the continuity of rational beliefs that come out as a result of E (effect) and which makes it easier to evaluate events within their own reality by following these rational beliefs. When REBT is considered with a new perspective, G (growth) can be added to the process after F (functional feeling and behavior), because it takes some time for the rational beliefs formed with the influence of F to set in for the individual. In a psychological counseling which applies a rational emotive behavior approach, the aim is to break this negative spiral. Irrational beliefs (B) of the individual are refuted by disputing them (D). In the new case which came about with the effect (E) of this dispute, functional emotions and behaviors (F) occur. One of the aims in REBT-based psychological counseling is for the client to realize his or her irrational beliefs, distinguish them from rational ones, and to learn to overcome irrational beliefs. The client learning this process and using rational beliefs in the face of new events can be called growth (G). In this respect, the main aim of REBT-based psychological counseling can be said to be enabling growth

    In this study, appropriateness of the concepts and therapy process of Reality Therapy to Turkish culture is discussed. For this purpose, basic concepts and therapy stages are evaluated according to what extent Reality Therapy is adaptable to characteristics of the Turkish culture that is defined through social psychological and anthropological researches. Moreover, during counseling sessions conducted with Turkish clients, which aspects of both Turkish culture and Reality Therapy must be taken into consideration to provide effective therapy outcomes, is examined.Bu çalışmada, Gerçeklik Terapisi kavramlarının ve terapi sürecinin Türk kültürüne ne derece uygun olduğu değerlendirilmiştir. Bu amaçla, temel kavramlar ve terapi aşamaları incelenerek, sosyal psikolojik ve antropolojik araştırmalarla ortaya konulan Türk kültürüne ne derece uygulanabilir olduğu, Türk toplumunun özelliklerini ne derece yansıtabileceği saptanmaya çalışılmış, etkili sonuçlar elde etmek için hangi noktaların göz önünde bulundurulması gerektiği tartışılmıştır

    In this study, the appropriacy of some concepts and therapy stages of a Transactional Analysis approach to Turkish culture is considered. For this purpose some basic concepts and treatment stages are criticised one by one in terms of how feasible they are in Turkish culture, to what degree they can reflect the characteristics of Turkish society, and which points must be taken into consideration to achieve an effective outcome.Bu çalışmada, Transaksiyonel Analiz Yaklaşımının bazı kavramlarının ve terapi aşamalarının Türk kültürüne ne derece uygun olduğu üzerinde durulmuştur.     In this study, eleven songs selected from a variety of Sezen Aksu albums have been investigated in relation to some basic concepts of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy. For this purpose, the basic concepts of REBT have been explained and then the expressions in these songs have been investigated in regards to these concepts. It is observed that these songs mostly reflect an irrational belief system.Bu çalışmada, Sezen Aksu’nun farklı albümlerinden seçilen 11 parça, Akılcı-Duygusal Davranışçı Yaklaşımın temel kavramları açısından incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla çalışmada öncelikle REBT’in temel kavramları açıklanmış ve ardından bu şarkılarda yer alan ifadeler temel kavramlara göre irdelenmiştir. Sonuçta, bu parçaların çoğunlukla akılcı olmayan bir inanç sistemini yansıttığı görülmüştür

    Integrative Model (VAM) in Individual and Group Pychotherapy

    The purpose of this article is to present the Voltan Acar-Molaei (VAM) integrative model in group psychotherapy. This model discusses the importance of applying Gestalt psychotherapy, psychodrama and cognitive-behavioral therapies when working with various groups. The authors suggest that applying a single psychotherapy approach is inherently limited, and therefore emphasize the need for a synthesis and comprehensive framework of therapeutic models to address clients‟ relationships, emotions, thoughts, spiritual sides, behaviors and body processes. Each component of this model is explored in terms of its efficacy within Gestalt, cognitive-behavioral and psychodrama frameworks. The Voltan Acar-Molaei integrative model has been developed as a useful guideline in group therapy for understanding and finding a solution for specific problems of clients in groups

    In this study, it was aimed to evaluate violence against women, one of the common problems of the society, especially in the context of analytical psychotherapy, based on some recent events in the media. For this purpose, two cases involving violence against women were discussed with the basic approach of analytical psychotherapy. In the study, the emotions, thoughts and behaviors of violent men were tried to be explained based on the concepts of conscious, unconscious, complex and archetypes of analytical psychotherapy. As a result, in this study, some clues about the points that psychological counselors should take into consideration in the psychological treatment of men who resort to violence against women.Extended English abstract is in the end of PDF (TURKISH) file. ÖzetBu çalışmada toplumun yaygın sorunlarından biri olan kadına yönelik şiddetin özellikle son zamanlarda medyada yer alan bazı olaylar temel alınarak analitik psikoterapi bağlamında değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla kadına yönelik şiddeti içeren iki olay, analitik psikoterapinin temel yaklaşımıyla ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada şiddet uygulayan erkeklerin duygu, düşünce ve davranışları analitik psikoterapinin bilinç, bilinçdışı, kompleks ve arketip kavramları esas alınarak açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Sonuç olarak bu çalışmada kadına yönelik şiddet uygulayan erkeklerin psikolojik tedavilerinde psikolojik danışmanların göz önünde bulundurmaları gereken noktalara ilişkin bir takım ipuçları ortaya çıkmıştır
