    The Relations between Investment in Employees\u27 Development and Organizational Productivity and Service Quality

    Human resource management (HRM) is directed to managing human potentials of a company in order to achieve organizational goals, and at the same time, goals of employees. One of the very important part of this process is training and development, as a group of activities aimed at improving employees knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA), in order to be more successful in job, but also with the aim of creating a base for further development of an organization as a whole. The main aim of the research was to explore the effects of investment in employees\u27 development, measured by number of training days and percentage of operating costs invested in development and training, on the level of organizational productivity and service quality. The subject of the research is the relationship between two main indicators of employees\u27 development program, and organizational level productivity and service quality. The methodology used in the research obtained the application of two-way multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) on the data from 160 companies from one Southeast European country, gathered during 2015 and 2016. The results indicated that there is an interaction effect between training costs and number of training days on the combined dependent variables, productivity and service quality in the observed organizations

    Shelf Based Out-of-Stocks in the Context of Employee Density

    The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of employee density on shelf based out-of-stocks, i.e. situations when products are physically present at stores, but not on the marked sale positions. In addition, for the first time, these relations were analyzed among different retail formats. By using POS estimation method, shelf based out-of-stock rates were measured for 80 different FMCG products in 97 retail stores. For analyzing the impact of employee density on the average shelf based OOS rate in modern and traditional retail formats, curvilinear hierarchical regression and moderation analyses were used. The results showed that the relation between employee density and shelf based out-of-sock varied among different formats. While it was not significant in convenience stores, in modern formats it was quadratic (stores with too many or too few employees per square meter were related to higher levels of shelf based OOS). The obtained results suggest that store managers should be aware of the effects of employee organization on product availability. The attention was also dedicated to potential problems and managerial implications concerning the employees' number in retail stores, regarding traditional and modern trading formats

    PERCEPTION OF ENTREPRENEURS REGARDING BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT IN MONTENEGRO: REGIONAL ANALYSIS

    The goal of this work is to analyze the economic ambient by entrepreneurs through the identification of the most significant barriers exerting influences on the development of business in Montenegro. For the needs of researching, the questionnaire was created consisting of 30 questions, including five groups of barriers. The questionnaire was filled in by 102 business people with their main offices in Montenegro. Collected data were processed by means of the statistical processing data program SPSS20. The descriptive analysis was used with a view of getting the hierarchy of observed barriers, while the one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used for determining statistically significant differences regarding to observed barriers by entrepreneurs classified into three geographical regions (maritime, central and northern). Financial resources, procedures in the local competence and centralized procedures were recognized by entrepreneurs as barriers of the greatest importance on entrepreneurial development. Statistically significant differences between the observed barriers by entrepreneurs in three geographical regions appeared in case of development inequality of regions and administrative procedures in employment

    The impact of corporate social responsibility on the financial performance in the Republic of Serbia

    Under conditions of globalization and increasing market integration, competitiveness is a prerequisite for survival in the global market. The goal is not only to achieve a competitive advantage but to make it sustainable. The most stable and long-term source is reflected in business innovation. Innovative activities encourage companies' development and influence the preservation of market position as well as the company's profitability. The effects of applying the CSR concept can positively influence a company's financial performance. The authors of this paper investigate whether there is a connection between the concept of corporate social responsibility and financial performance in the Republic of Serbia. The paper presents the results of research conducted in the territory of the Republic of Serbia. The research covers 165 large companies during the period November 2019 - August 2021. The data were processed using the Smart PLS program. The research results show that the application of the CSR concept has a positive effect on the financial performance of large companies in the Republic of Serbia

    Big five, narcissism and entrepreneurial intentions: Serbian students case

    The paper examines the influence of the dimensions of Big Five and Narcissism on dimensions of the Theory of Planned Behavior and Entrepreneurial intentions. The moderating effect of the item Student success (the perception of the students on their success) in studying on these relationships was also examined. The research was carried out in Serbia, and the respondents were students. The sample included 400 respondents. Extroversion, Openness to experience and Narcissism have the strongest positive influence on the Theory of Planned Behavior dimensions and Entrepreneurial intention dimension. The influence of Conscientiousness is positive, but somewhat weaker and concentrated on the Subjective norm dimension. Neuroticism has a weak negative influence, while the correlation analysis showed that there is a statistically significant negative influence on the Theory of Planned Behavior dimensions. Agreeableness has no influence, with the exception of one statistically significant and positive correlation with the Subjective norm dimension. In the case of Low Student success, Extroversion and Narcissism has a stronger positive effect on the Theory of Planned Behavior dimensions and Entrepreneurial intention dimension than in the case of High Student success. In general, narcissistic persons have a high opinion of themselves, are full of self-confidence, and are highly motivated to be successful, rich, and admired by other people. They see entrepreneurship as an opportunity to achieve what they think they deserve. Suggestions are made regarding the use of these potentials and the translation of a negative phenomenon, such as narcissism, into something useful for society

    THE INFLUENCE OF THE COSTS AND INCOME ON PROFIT IN CANDY INDUSTRY

    Economic score of the company business is expressed through profit or loss. Profit or loss, is determined as the difference between the income of the company and the costs that are incurred in the process of reproduction. From the expression for the calculation of profit it is obvious that the direct impact on business results have revenues and expenses. Measuring the impact of these two factors, as well as their including elements, leads to clear information about which element, the factor of production, has most influenced change of the business results. On the basis of the analysis and measurement we can be more adequate with creating a business policy in the production company, because from the aspect of the economy, it is necessary to have the optimal production program, in order to achieve a positive result, profit, and to define strategies for the management of costs. Measuring the impact of cost on the profit is the first step to determine the changes in costs, mostly for their growth, and in that sense, the invention of critical points in the business of the company that must have been changed
