It describes what the user interfaces are, it compares the tools used for their creation, and the methods of their realization. The main focus is a custom design and implementation of tools used for creating a cross-platform hardware accelerated graphical user interface. It compares my own concept with existing solutions, and places it into practice on a project with an external company.

Best practice forever? Dynamics behind the perception of farm-fed anaerobic digestion plants in rural peripheries

Anaerobic digestion (AD) plants undoubtedly represent an integral and irreplaceable element in rural energy transition and sustainable waste management. In our study, we focus on an advanced understanding of the dynamics behind the changing perceptions of AD plants in host communities in Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. The surveyed AD plant case studies were selected to represent best-practice examples of AD plant operations in their countries. By means of a comparative survey in three host communities, we seek to learn more about the shift in perceptions of AD plants between their planning and operational phases. We find that, although our cases are considered best-practice examples of AD plant operations, their overall support in their communities dramatically dropped in the operational phase consequent to real-life experience with living in the neighbourhood of an AD plant. Additionally, our findings indicate that respondents who reported the most severe deterioration of AD plant perceptions were, surprisingly, those who had participated in the planning process more than other respondents. The most frequently mentioned type of participation in the planning phase was reported to be visits to the local administration office to inspect an AD plant's planning documentation. We argue that deteriorating perceptions of best-practice examples of AD plant operations negatively impact the further development and acceptance of the biogas sector in Eastern Europe. The element of acceptance by the locals of AD plant operations urgently requires reflection in the definition of best practices to inspire and upgrade both existing and planned biogas energy projects.Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness; State Research Agency of SpainSpanish Government; Regional Development Fund [CSO2017-86975-R, VEGA 1/0514/21]Vedecká Grantová Agentúra MŠVVaŠ SR a SAV, VEGA: 1/0514/21; European Regional Development Fund, ERDF: CSO2017-86975-R; Ministerio de Asuntos Económicos y Transformación Digital, Gobierno de España, MINEC

ObhájenoThe thesis deals with the size of primary silicon grains depending on the proportion of recyclable material (scrap) in the melt using thermal analysis, and image analysis. Thermal analysis is also used to compare the actual cooling curves with the theoretical cooling curve obtained from Magma soft

Assessment of the results of the strategic orientation on regional and local products in food retail

    No full text
The aim of this paper is to assess if there is a difference in food choice behaviour between regular customers of stores of the retail chain Terno and other consumers. Consequently, the paper aims to discover, if the strategy formulated by the consumer co-operative Jednota České Budějovice was a good strategy. The core of this strategy is the orientation on the region, local and regional food and food products and the co-operation with local small and medium suppliers. Another part of this strategy is also the permanent control of quality of these products and creation of the special private label – Quality food from our region. The consumer co-operative co-operates also with the regional grouping under another label – Tastes great. Southbohemian. The assessment is done by means of the analysis of a questionnaire survey that was done among consumers in the South Bohemia in 2011. The strongest factor differentiating customers of the retail chain TERNO from other consumer is the orientation on regional or local products, which explains about 41% of variability. Other differentiating factors are environment-friendly production and selling and quality of food. All these three factors explain in total 66.5% of variability of the data set

A design influence on the mechanical compliance and fracture resistance of railway wheel

    Get PDF
A fracture mechanics approach is used to determinate crack behaviour in a railway wheel which is working under different operating conditions with consideration of different types of railway wheel discs. Reliability of the railway wheel is related to a material failure. This paper is focused on failure of the material which is connected with violation consistency of the wheel material. The fracture mechanic approach is applied with consideration of influence of mechanical compliance. The topology optimization is used to define the shape of one disc type. Obtained results show fracture behaviour and the mechanical compliance of used railway wheel discs. From these results, comparison of separated railway wheel discs is obtained

Distribution of elements among minerals of a single (muscovite-) biotite granite sample – an optimal approach and general implications

    No full text
The petrography and mineral chemistry of the coarse-grained, weakly porphyritic (muscovite-) biotite Říčany granite (Variscan Central Bohemian Plutonic Complex, Bohemian Massif) were studied in order to assess the distribution of major and trace elements among its minerals, with consequences for granite petrogenesis and availability of geochemical species during supergene processes. It is demonstrated that chemistry-based approaches are the best suited for modal analyses of granites, especially methods taking into account compositions of whole-rock samples as well as their mineral constituents, such as constrained least-squares algorithm. They smooth out any local variations (mineral zoning, presence of phenocrysts, schlieren…) and are robust in respect to the presence of phenocrysts or fabrics. The study confirms the notion that the accessory phases play a key role in incorporation of many elements during crystallization of granitic magmas. Especially the REE seem of little value in petrogenetic modelling, unless the role of accessories is properly assessed and saturation models for apatite, zircon, monazite±rutile carefully considered. At the same time, the presence of several P-, Zr- and LREE-bearing phases may have some important consequences for saturation thermometry of apatite, zircon and monazite

Characterization of Fe-DOPED Sb1.5Bi0.5Te3 single crystals

    No full text
Single crystal of (Sb 0.75 Bi 0.25) 2-x FexTe3 and Sb 1.5 Bi 0.5 Fe x Te3 (x = 0,0 - 0.015) have been prepared and characterized by the measurments of X-ray diffraction, reflectance in the plasma resonance frequency region, Hall coefficient RH (B // c), electrical conductivity sigma +, and Seebeck coeficient alpha (delta T + c). It was found that Fe atoms in the crystal structure of Sb 1.5 Bi 0.5 Te3 behave like acceptors: the observed increase in the hole concentration with and increase in the hole concentration with an increase in the incorporated Fe content is explained by the formation of substatantial defects of Fe' Sb and Fe' Bi in the crystal lattice of the crystals studied. The incorporation of Fe atoms into the Sb 1.5 Bi 0.5 Te3 lattice leads also to a decrease in the power factor sigma alpha 2 of the crystals
