Multiple watermarking in segmented image using wavelet transform

    Get PDF
Digital watermarking is the process of embedding information into digital multimedia content such that the information can later be extracted or detected for a variety of purposes including copy prevention and authentication proof. Embedding watermark in the wavelet becomes more attractive to most researchers as it could provide better performance. Even though there are many technique have been developed in this regards, but the problem of robustness and transparency from any attack is still becomes the main research issue in the watermarking technique. Thus, the challenge is still wide open . In this research; we describe a transparency and a robust DWT digital image watermarking algorithm. In the proposed algorithm, a multiple watermark images are embedded into segmented blue part of the RGB host image using a Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). Performance in terms of robustness and transparency of the watermarking scheme is obtained by embedding the maximum strength watermark while maintaining the perceptually lossless quality of the watermarked color image. Simulation results show that the proposed method is transparent and robust under common attacks such as JPEG compression, high pass filtering, median filtering, cropping, ,Gaussian , spackle noise , salt and peppers, motion effects and scaling attacks. In addition, the recovery method is non-blind since it requires the original host image for extracting the watermark

Bayesian Learning Networks Approach to Cybercrime Detection

The growing dependence of modern society on telecommunication and information networks has become inevitable. The increase in the number of interconnected networks to the Internet has led to an increase in security threats and cybercrimes such as Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. Any Internet based attack typically is prefaced by a reconnaissance probe process, which might take just a few minutes, hours, days, or even months before the attack takes place. In order to detect distributed network attacks as early as possible, an under research and development probabilistic approach, which is known by Bayesian networks has been proposed. This paper shows how probabilistically Bayesian network detects communication network attacks, allowing for generalization of Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDSs). Learning Agents which deploy Bayesian network approach are considered to be a promising and useful tool in determining suspicious early events of Internet threats and consequently relating them to the following occurring activities.Peer reviewe

Sensor networks and data management in healthcare: emerging technologies and new challenges

    Get PDF
Smart pervasive sensor networks are becoming an important part of our daily lives. Low-power, high-availability and high-throughput 5G mobile networks provide the necessary communication means for highly pervasive sensor networks, introducing a technological disruption to health monitoring. The meaningful use of large concurrent sensor networks in healthcare requires multi-level health knowledge integration with sensor data streams. In this paper, we highlight some software engineering and data-processing issues that can be addressed by metamorphic testing. The proposed solution combines data streaming with filtering and cross-calibration, use of medical knowledge for system operation and data interpretation, and IoT-based calibration using certified linked diagnostic devices. © 2019 IEEE

E- Learning from University Students' Perspectives

The use of technology has indeed contributed to supporting and improving education, making learning approachable and obtainable to a large number of students, especially during the epidemic lockdown of schools where people are forced to stay at home. Therefore, universities shift to online mode of teaching which is conducted through e-learning system.  However, the success of e-learning approach in Iraqi universities depends mainly on the attitudes of students towards online learning and their acceptance of it. Thus, this paper investigates the perspectives of university students, males and females, on the use of e-learning by their instructors at Basra university during COVID-19 pandemic.  Using SPSS software for the analysis of the collected data, the equations of Weighted Mean and Percentile Weight, the results of the study demonstrate that university students view that though e-learning is beneficial and flexible. That is, they have to struggle to stay in touch with their virtual classes and teachers. Some of them do not even have an access to laptops or smart phones, while some others have poor or non-existent Wi-Fi connections. This is due to the lack of strong and effective internet networks, in addition to the lack of sufficient experience on how to use the internet and manage e-learning platforms. To overcome these obstacles, there should be more forward planning on the part of the educational institutions and policy makers. They should improve the quality of internet connectivity and provide facilities as well as good communication services to students

The impact of traditional and social media marketing on customers’ brand trust and purchase intentions in the Turkish airline market

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of customers' attitudes towards traditional and social media marketing on brand trust and purchase intention. Reviewing the extant literature unveiled that the subject of traditional versus social media marketing in the airline market is not sufficiently studied. Thus, we studied the mentioned subject in Turkey because the aviation sector has shown noteworthy improvements due to a significant increasing volume of e-commerce, not only on the passenger side but also on the cargo side as well. On the other hand, thanks to the passenger demand growth since starting the recent century, the Turkish airline industry leads a giant contribution to the enlargement of the global economy due to the increasing number of connections and falling air transport costs. Data was gathered in Istanbul airports from 341 passengers of the airlines of Turkey to compare the impact of traditional and social media marketing on brand trust and purchase intention of customers and analyzed by using structural equation modeling. The findings reveal that in recent years digital marketing and online advertising campaigns has been more effective than traditional marketing for augmenting brand trust and purchase intention of the passengers
