The Urban Political Ecology of Post-industrial Scottish Towns: Examining Greengairs and Ravenscraig
Urban ecological politics is shaped by both moments of concerted action and more silent perceptions and responses. Instead of only being evident in situations of organised protest, the politics of urban ecology is also manifested, in material and symbolic terms, in the daily life of the residents. The fragmentation of urban political ecology turns out to be an important element in the affirmation of post-political forms of urban governance. Those issues were the object of fieldwork research carried out in Greengairs and Ravenscraig, two towns in North Lanarkshire, near Glasgow, with the goal of unravelling the understanding and the coping mechanisms of environmentally deprived residents. The towns are permeated by a widespread, often dissimulated, political ecology that is nonetheless always present. Empirical results demonstrate that a more comprehensive handling of the political ecology of the urban is crucial in order to halt the sources of marginalisation and ecological degradation
Anomalous Rotational Relaxation: A Fractional Fokker-Planck Equation Approach
In this study we obtained analytically relaxation function in terms of
rotational correlation functions based on Brownian motion for complex
disordered systems in a stochastic framework. We found out that rotational
relaxation function has a fractional form for complex disordered systems, which
indicates relaxation has non-exponential character obeys to

Rotational Brownian motion on the sphere surface and rotational relaxation
The spatial components of the autocorrelation function of noninteracting
dipoles are analytically obtained in terms of rotational Brownian motion on the
surface of a unit sphere using multi-level jumping formalism based on Debye's
rotational relaxation model, and the rotational relaxation functions are

Joint Astrophysics Nascent Universe Satellite:. utilizing GRBs as high redshift probes
The Joint Astrophysics Nascent Universe Satellite (JANUS) is a multiwavelength cosmology mission designed to address fundamental questions about the cosmic dawn. It has three primary science objectives: (1) measure the massive star formation rate over 5 ≤ z ≤ 12 by discovering and observing high-z gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and their afterglows, (2) enable detailed studies of the history of reionization and metal enrichment in the early Universe, and (3) map the growth of the first supermassive black holes by discovering and observing the brightest quasars at z ≥ 6. A rapidly slewing spacecraft and three science instruments – the X-ray Coded Aperture Telescope (XCAT), the Near InfraRed Telescope (NIRT), and the GAmma-ray Transient Experiment for Students (GATES) – make-up the JANUS observatory and are responsible for realizing the three primary science objectives. The XCAT (0.5–20 keV) is a wide field of view instrument responsible for detecting and localizing ∼60 z ≥ 5 GRBs, including ∼8 z ≥ 8 GRBs, during a 2-year mission. The NIRT (0.7–1.7 µm) refines the GRB positions and provides rapid (≤ 30 min) redshift information to the astronomical community. Concurrently, the NIRT performs a 20, 000 deg2 survey of the extragalactic sky discovering and localizing ∼300 z ≥ 6 quasars, including ∼50 at z ≥ 7, over a two-year period. The GATES provides high-energy (15 keV −1.0 MeV) spectroscopy as well as 60–500 keV polarimetry of bright GRBs. Here we outline the JANUS instrumentation and the mission science motivations
Modelling stratospheric polar ozone using objective analysis
We have studied the development of the austral ozone hole using a 3-D spectral chemical transport model at R15 resolution for the period 15th September to 15th October, 1991. The model is driven by objectively analyzed wind fields obtained from the Canadian Meteorological Center and uses the chemical module developed by Kaminski (1992). Although extensive processing of NO(y) and Cl(x) occurs within the model, the ozone hole that develops appears shallow and ephemeral. Analysis of the results indicate that the meridional transport of ozone is sufficient to overwhelm the substantial chemical depletion that does occur. We suggest that the low resolution objectively analyzed data used is unable to capture the essential isolated nature of the vortex
Generalized Robba rings
We prove that any projective coadmissible module over the locally analytic
distribution algebra of a compact -adic Lie group is finitely generated. In
particular, the category of coadmissible modules does not have enough
projectives. In the Appendix a "generalized Robba ring" for uniform pro-
groups is constructed which naturally contains the locally analytic
distribution algebra as a subring. The construction uses the theory of
generalized microlocalization of quasi-abelian normed algebras that is also
developed there. We equip this generalized Robba ring with a self-dual locally
convex topology extending the topology on the distribution algebra. This is

The Global Magneto-Ionic Medium Survey: Polarimetry of the Southern Sky from 300 to 480 MHz
Much data on the Galactic polarized radio emission has been gathered in the
last five decades. All-sky surveys have been made, but only in narrow, widely
spaced frequency bands, and the data are inadequate for the characterization of
Faraday rotation, the main determinant of the appearance of the polarized radio
sky at decimetre wavelengths. We describe a survey of the polarized radio
emission from the Southern sky, aiming to characterize the magneto-ionic
medium, particularly the strength and configuration of the magnetic field. This
work is part of the Global Magneto-Ionic Medium Survey (GMIMS). We have
designed and built a feed and receiver covering the band 300 to 900 MHz for the
CSIRO Parkes 64-m Telescope. We have surveyed the entire sky between
declinations -90 and +20 degrees. We present data covering 300 to 480 MHz with
angular resolution 81' to 45'. The survey intensity scale is absolutely
calibrated, based on measurements of resistors at known temperatures and on an
assumed flux density and spectral index for Taurus A. Data are presented as
brightness temperatures. We have applied Rotation Measure Synthesis to the data
to obtain a Faraday depth cube of resolution 5.9 radians per metre squared,
sensitivity of 60 mK of polarized intensity, and angular resolution 1.35
degrees. The data presented in this paper are available at the Canadian
