This study aimed to determine to what extent rebranding had effect on corporate reputation. Through the implementation of quantitative research design, this project involved Telkom customers of Bandar Lampung as population where the sampling technique applied was non-probability sampling and purposive sampling approach. The research instruments were questionnaires which were handed out to 100 customers of Telkom Bandar Lampung during May 2013 period. Afterward, the data were analyzed using simple regression analysis. The results showed the value of R square of company rebranding was 0.235 which indicated that the contribution X variable (rebranding) played significant role in influencing each additional of Y variable at 23.5% for corporate reputation while 76.5% were influenced by other factors. Further, hypothesis test results signified that t-test 5,486 was greater (>) than t-table 1,984 so that it can be concluded that rebranding had significantly affect Telkom Ltd. corporate reputation in Bandar Lampung

The increasing percentage of beggar's existence has forced our government to take efforts to solve it, but so far all are failed. Concerning to that, we introduce the Brainwashing Motivation (BM) that can be tried as an alternative solution. Inspired by the Social-Learning theory by Bandura, a psychologist, BM is applied in the form of motivation seminars in which some trainings of many kinds of skills with an intensive assistance will be held. BM won't only be able to reduce the beggars' passion to beg, but also give them a lift to live a better life as they own valuable skills

    Synonymous non-taxonomic relations extraction

Construction of ontology is a difficult task, expensive and time-consuming. Concept, taxonomy and non-taxonomic relations, are the three important components in the development of ontology. These three components are used to represent the whole domain texts. Currently, most of studies focused on extracting the concept, the taxonomic relationships and the non-taxonomic relationships within the scope of single sentence. In order to enrich the domain ontology, we introduced a method to extract the non-taxonomic relations by using the similarities of relations that exist in more than one sentence. The most appropriate predicate are used as a reference to relate between concepts that occur not only in the same sentence, but also in different sentences. Here, the proposed method was tested using a collection of domain texts that described electronic voting machine and are evaluated based on the standard information retrieval performance metrics, i.e. precision and recall

The tradition of ulem-ulem and siaran in a wedding party are unique and exciting traditions, because it uses cigarettes, soaps, and laundry detergents to invite many people to attend a wedding party. This research aims to describe: (1) the process and implementation of the tradition of ulem-ulem and siaran in a wedding party; and (2) the positive and negative impacts of the tradition of ulem-ulem and siaran in a wedding party. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative which the methods of the data collection are interview and documentation. The analysis used is qualitative descriptive analysis in a narrative form. The results of this research show: (1) The tradition of ulem-ulem is sharing invitation cards around two weeks before a wedding party is held and siaran is done when a wedding party is in progress. (2) The tradition of ulem-ulem and siaran have both positive and negative impacts. One of the positive impacts is many guests bringing gifts. And one of the negative impacts is disturbing many people when they are all sleeping at night

Antioxidants are one of the free-radical scavengers. Methanol extract of rambutan peel containing phenolic compounds such as acids ellagat, corilagin and geraniin potential as antioxidants. Facial cosmetics are available in a variety of dosage forms, one of which shaped peel-off mask gel. The purpose of this study to determine the antioxidant activity and irritation test preparation gel mask methanol extract of rambutan peel. Research stage begins with the search for materials, manufacturing of rambutan peel extracts, extracts DPPH test, preparation of a peel-off mask gell, DPPH test preparation, and irritation test. The results showed the extract inhibition concentration is 6.6771 µg / mL; inhibition concentration of gel peel-off mask at F0, F1, F2, F3 where F0 does not contain extracts, F1containing 50 mg of extract, F2 = 150 mg extract; F3 = 250 results inhibition concentration obtained mg ektrask respectively 8.867; 6.655; 6.786; 6.598 µg / mL. Skin irritation test preparation rambutan mask to F0 are erythema in rabbits 1 and 2 at the 24th hour and 48 while in rabbits 3 at the 24th hour. For F1 and F2 erythema occurred at the 24th hour and 48 for rabbits 1, all hours of the rabbit 2 and the 24th hour in rabbits 3. Eritema happened in F3 found in rabbits 2 at the 24th hour, 48 and 72. edema does not occur in any formula at all rabbits

A pragmatic approach to managing antiretroviral therapy-experienced patients diagnosed with HIV-associated cryptococcal meningitis: impact of antiretroviral therapy adherence and duration

    Get PDF
Cryptococcal meningitis accounts for 15% of all HIV-related deaths [1]. The overall number of cryptococcal meningitis cases has remained relatively stable in many low-to-middle income countries (LMICs) despite increasing roll-out of antiretroviral therapy (ART). Increasing numbers of patients are at risk of developing cryptococcal meningitis following ART failure or discontinuation, offsetting declines in those presenting for the first time with advanced HIV [2–4]. Over half of patients diagnosed with cryptococcal meningitis in recent studies in sub-Saharan Africa are ART-experienced (i.e. currently receiving or previously received ART) [5,6]. Although there is robust evidence from prospective randomized trials that ART initiation should be delayed until 4–6 weeks after starting antifungal therapy in ART-naïve cryptococcal meningitis patients [7,8], the approach to ART management among ART-experienced cryptococcal meningitis patients lacks adequate evidence, with a paucity of published data

New genetic loci implicated in fasting glucose homeostasis and their impact on type 2 diabetes risk.

Levels of circulating glucose are tightly regulated. To identify new loci influencing glycemic traits, we performed meta-analyses of 21 genome-wide association studies informative for fasting glucose, fasting insulin and indices of beta-cell function (HOMA-B) and insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) in up to 46,186 nondiabetic participants. Follow-up of 25 loci in up to 76,558 additional subjects identified 16 loci associated with fasting glucose and HOMA-B and two loci associated with fasting insulin and HOMA-IR. These include nine loci newly associated with fasting glucose (in or near ADCY5, MADD, ADRA2A, CRY2, FADS1, GLIS3, SLC2A2, PROX1 and C2CD4B) and one influencing fasting insulin and HOMA-IR (near IGF1). We also demonstrated association of ADCY5, PROX1, GCK, GCKR and DGKB-TMEM195 with type 2 diabetes. Within these loci, likely biological candidate genes influence signal transduction, cell proliferation, development, glucose-sensing and circadian regulation. Our results demonstrate that genetic studies of glycemic traits can identify type 2 diabetes risk loci, as well as loci containing gene variants that are associated with a modest elevation in glucose levels but are not associated with overt diabetes

Extraction of cluster parameters with future Sunyaev-Zel'dovich observations

    Get PDF
The Sunyaev-Zel'dovich (SZ) effect of galaxy clusters is characterized by three parameters: Compton parameter, electron temperature and cluster peculiar velocity. In the present study we consider the problem of extracting these parameters using multi-frequency SZ observations only. We show that there exists a parameter degeneracy which can be broken with an appropriate choice of frequencies. As a result we discuss the optimal choice of observing frequencies from a theoretical point of view. Finally, we analyze the systematic errors (of the order micro K) on the SZ measurement introduced by finite bandwidths, and suggest a possible method of reducing these errors.Comment: 20 pages, 13 figures, to be published in JCA
