Bose-Einstein Condensates with Large Number of Vortices

We show that as the number of vortices in a three dimensional Bose-Einstein Condensate increases, the system reaches a "quantum Hall" regime where the density profile is a Gaussian in the xy-plane and an inverted parabolic profile along z. The angular momentum of the system increases as the vortex lattice shrinks. However, Coriolis force prevents the unit cell of the vortex lattice from shrinking beyond a minimum size. Although the recent MIT experiment is not exactly in the quantum Hall regime, it is close enough for the present results to be used as a guide. The quantum Hall regime can be easily reached by moderate changes of the current experimental parameters.Comment: 4 pages, no figure

    Co-doping red-emitting Sr2Si5N8:Eu2+ into yellow-emitting phosphor-packaging for enhancing the optical properties of the 8500 K remote-phosphor packaging wleds

In the last decades, WLEDs attract more and more consideration in both academic and industrial purposes because of its advantages such as fast response time, environment friendliness, small size, long lifetime, and high efficiency. In this research, by doping the red-emitting Sr2Si5N8:Eu2+ phosphor particles into yellow-emitting YAG:Ce phosphor-packaging, a new recommendation for enhancing the optical properties (color uniformity, color rendering index, and lumen output) of the 8500 K remote-phosphor packaging WLEDs is presented, investigated, and demonstrated. By using Mat Lab and Light Tools software based on Mie Theory, the obtained results show that the optical properties of the 8500 K remote-phosphor packaging WLEDs significantly depended on Sr2Si5N8:Eu2+ concentration. The results have provided a potential practical recommendation for manufacturing remote-phosphor W-LEDs.Web of Science1341034102

Fermion Superfluids of Non-Zero Orbital Angular Momentum near Resonance

We study the pairing of Fermi gases near the scattering resonance of the ℓ≠0\ell\neq 0 partial wave. Using a model potential which reproduces the actual two-body low energy scattering amplitude, we have obtained an analytic solution of the gap equation. We show that the ground state of ℓ=1\ell=1 and ℓ=3\ell=3 superfluid are orbital ferromagnets with pairing wavefunctions Y11Y_{11} and Y32Y_{32} respectively. For ℓ=2\ell=2, there is a degeneracy between Y22Y_{22} and a "cyclic state". Dipole energy will orient the angular momentum axis. The gap function can be determined by the angular dependence of the momentum distribution of the fermions.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur

The Effect of Family Function and Conflict on Family Subjective Well-being with Migrant Husband

    Get PDF
Poverty, limited employment opportunities, and low rate of labor wage cause couples undergo long distance married because the husband has to work far from the house. This gives impact to family subjective well-being so that the family need to role a family function in order to minimize conflicts. This research aimed to analyze the effect of family function and conflict on family subjective well-being with migrant husband. There were 60 samples in this research which consisted of family with migrant husband teenager children (12-17 years old) in Banyuresmi village, Garut. The wife was the respondent of this research. The sampling technique used here was nonprobability sampling method with form purposive sampling. The data were collected by interviewing the respondents using a questionnaire. The results showed that most of the samples were categorized into families which had good family function, moderate family conflict, and moderate family subjective well-being. Family function affect significantly positive to family subjective well-being. Parental-teenagers conflict affect significantly negative to family subjective well-being

Rateless codes-based secure communication employing transmit antenna selection and harvest-to-jam under joint effect of interference and hardware impairments

    Get PDF
In this paper, we propose a rateless codes-based communication protocol to provide security for wireless systems. In the proposed protocol, a source uses the transmit antenna selection (TAS) technique to transmit Fountain-encoded packets to a destination in presence of an eavesdropper. Moreover, a cooperative jammer node harvests energy from radio frequency (RF) signals of the source and the interference sources to generate jamming noises on the eavesdropper. The data transmission terminates as soon as the destination can receive a sufficient number of the encoded packets for decoding the original data of the source. To obtain secure communication, the destination must receive sufficient encoded packets before the eavesdropper. The combination of the TAS and harvest-to-jam techniques obtains the security and efficient energy via reducing the number of the data transmission, increasing the quality of the data channel, decreasing the quality of the eavesdropping channel, and supporting the energy for the jammer. The main contribution of this paper is to derive exact closed-form expressions of outage probability (OP), probability of successful and secure communication (SS), intercept probability (IP) and average number of time slots used by the source over Rayleigh fading channel under the joint impact of co-channel interference and hardware impairments. Then, Monte Carlo simulations are presented to verify the theoretical results.Web of Science217art. no. 70

Running anti-de Sitter radius from QCD-like strings

We consider renormalization effects for a bosonic QCD-like string, whose partons have 1/p21/p^{2} propagators instead of Gaussian. Classically this model resembles (the bosonic part of) the projective light-cone (zero-radius) limit of a string on an AdS5{}_5 background, where Schwinger parameters give rise to the fifth dimension. Quantum effects generate dynamics for this dimension, producing an AdS5{}_5 background with a running radius. The projective light-cone is the high-energy limit: Holography is enforced dynamically.Comment: 12 page

Lower and upper bound form for outage probability analysis in two-way of half-duplex relaying network under impact of direct link

    Get PDF
In this paper, the system performance of the two-way of half-duplex (HD) relaying network under the impact of the direct link is studied. The model system has two sources (S) and one destination (D) communicate by direct link and via relay (R). For system performance analysis, we derived the lower and upper bound for outage probability (OP). Furthermore, the analytical expressions of the system performance are verified by using the Monte Carlo simulation in the effect of main parameters. As shown in the results, we can the simulation and analytical results have a good agreement

Hybrid protocol for wireless EH network over weibull fading channel: performance analysis

    Get PDF
In this paper, the hybrid TSR-PSR protocol for wireless energy harvesting (EH) relaying network over the Weibull fading channel is investigated. The system network is working in half-duplex (HD) mode. For evaluating the system performance, the closed-form and integral-form expressions of the outage probability (OP) are investigated and derived. After that, numerical results convinced that our derived analytical results are the same with the simulation results by using Monte Carlo simulation. This paper provides a novel recommendation for the wireless EH relaying network
