A quantum isomonodromy equation and its application to N=2 SU(N) gauge theories
We give an explicit differential equation which is expected to determine the
instanton partition function in the presence of the full surface operator in
N=2 SU(N) gauge theory. The differential equation arises as a quantization of a
certain Hamiltonian system of isomonodromy type discovered by Fuji, Suzuki and
Tsuda.Comment: 15 pages, v2: typos corrected and references added, v3: discussion,

Manin matrices and Talalaev's formula
We study special class of matrices with noncommutative entries and
demonstrate their various applications in integrable systems theory. They
appeared in Yu. Manin's works in 87-92 as linear homomorphisms between
polynomial rings; more explicitly they read: 1) elements in the same column
commute; 2) commutators of the cross terms are equal: (e.g. ). We claim
that such matrices behave almost as well as matrices with commutative elements.
Namely theorems of linear algebra (e.g., a natural definition of the
determinant, the Cayley-Hamilton theorem, the Newton identities and so on and
so forth) holds true for them.
On the other hand, we remark that such matrices are somewhat ubiquitous in
the theory of quantum integrability. For instance, Manin matrices (and their
q-analogs) include matrices satisfying the Yang-Baxter relation "RTT=TTR" and
the so--called Cartier-Foata matrices. Also, they enter Talalaev's
hep-th/0404153 remarkable formulas: ,
det(1-e^{-\p}T_{Yangian}(z)) for the "quantum spectral curve", etc. We show
that theorems of linear algebra, after being established for such matrices,
have various applications to quantum integrable systems and Lie algebras, e.g
in the construction of new generators in (and, in general,
in the construction of quantum conservation laws), in the
Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation, and in the problem of Wick ordering. We also
discuss applications to the separation of variables problem, new Capelli
identities and the Langlands correspondence.Comment: 40 pages, V2: exposition reorganized, some proofs added, misprints

Integrable Models From Twisted Half Loop Algebras
This paper is devoted to the construction of new integrable quantum
mechanical models based on certain subalgebras of the half loop algebra of
gl(N). Various results about these subalgebras are proven by presenting them in
the notation of the St Petersburg school. These results are then used to
demonstrate the integrability, and find the symmetries, of two types of
physical system: twisted Gaudin magnets, and Calogero-type models of particles
on several half-lines meeting at a point.Comment: 22 pages, 1 figure, Introduction improved, References adde
Introduction. Intratumor heterogeneity is a characteristic feature for most malignant tumors, including cutaneous melanoma. This property represents one of the main obstacles for effective targeted therapy, due to the different sensitivity to chemotherapeutic agents on various tumor cells subclones. Treatment of malignant tumors requires an individual approach to choose the most appropriate treatment regimen. The purpose of the study was to evaluate differences in melanoma tissue samples obtained from different parts of one patient’s primary tumor at the transcriptomic level.Material and Methods. Melanoma cell cultures obtained from both central and peripheral parts of the primary tumor of two patients were used in the study.Results. Subclones from different parts of the first patient’s tumor were similar, whereas the second patient demonstrated significant differences at the transcriptomic level (in 2953 transcripts out of 48226). In the cells of the central zone of the second patient’s tumor, an increase in mRNA of the genes encoding proteins associated with tumor-specific immune response, as well as ABC-family transport proteins and cytokine signaling molecules, were noted. In the cells from the peripheral area of the same tumor, a more intensive transcription of genes encoding extracellular matrix and inflammatory response proteins was observed. Taken all round, the differences between the subclones of the second patient’s cells were relevant to some signaling cascades playing a leading role in oncogenesis (MAPK, PI3K-Akt-mTOR, VEGFA-VEGFR2, etc.).Conclusion. The study allowed evaluation of differences between cancer cells within a tumor at the transcriptional level in order to search for further approaches to personalized melanoma therapy.
Background. Large-scale construction of industrial and transport facilities is underway in the Far North of Russia. The process involves more than 10,000 shift workers, and there was a Covid19 outbreak in this population. In order to contain the outbreak and prevent the spread of infection in this area the Russian Emergencies Ministry deployed an airmobile hospital.Purpose. The purpose is to present an experience of work with the mobile CT scanner as part of an airmobile field hospital deployed in the Far North of Russia to combat the Covid-19 outbreak.Materials and methods. On April 6, 2020, the construction site reported a “zero patient” who sought medical aid; the PCR test showed positive results of coronavirus. In the first half of April, over 300 rotation employees applied for medical care, most of them had a positive PCR test. On April 11, a state of emergency was declared in the construction site and, on April 17, 2020, airmobile hospital started operations. Its mission lasted 54 days. The mobile CT scanner (Brightspeed Elite Mobile, GE) was transported by land. The field hospital closely cooperated with the nearest medical institutions and the regional clinical hospital.Results. During its work the airmobile hospital examined 1,678 rotational workers and 408 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Murmansk region, with 2,086 CT scans performed. The average age of the patients was 37.8 years, men predominated. In 91.2% of patients, fever was the first symptom of the disease. Blood saturation results ranged from 92% to 99%. The degree of lung involvement ranged from CT 0 to CT 4. During the work of the airmobile hospital, COVID-19 was diagnosed in 500 people, including 328 cases of mild form, 98 – moderate, 74 – severe, no mortalities.Conclusion. A positive experience of application of the mobile CT scanner as part of the AMH field hospital in unfavorable epidemiological conditions of the Far North of the Russian Federation was obtained. CT plays a key role in early detection of infection, differential diagnosis, and identification of complications. Determination of the severity of the disease based on CT data is crucial for patient routing.
Transverse-momentum-dependent Multiplicities of Charged Hadrons in Muon-Deuteron Deep Inelastic Scattering
A semi-inclusive measurement of charged hadron multiplicities in deep
inelastic muon scattering off an isoscalar target was performed using data
collected by the COMPASS Collaboration at CERN. The following kinematic domain
is covered by the data: photon virtuality (GeV/), invariant
mass of the hadronic system GeV/, Bjorken scaling variable in the
range , fraction of the virtual photon energy carried by the
hadron in the range , square of the hadron transverse momentum
with respect to the virtual photon direction in the range 0.02 (GeV/ (GeV/). The multiplicities are presented as a
function of in three-dimensional bins of , , and
compared to previous semi-inclusive measurements. We explore the
small- region, i.e. (GeV/), where
hadron transverse momenta are expected to arise from non-perturbative effects,
and also the domain of larger , where contributions from
higher-order perturbative QCD are expected to dominate. The multiplicities are
fitted using a single-exponential function at small to study
the dependence of the average transverse momentum on , and . The power-law behaviour of the
multiplicities at large is investigated using various
functional forms. The fits describe the data reasonably well over the full
measured range.Comment: 28 pages, 20 figure
