    Ventricular arrhythmias classification and onset determination system

    Accurately differentiating between ventricular fibrillation (VF) and ventricular tachycardia (VT) episodes is crucial in preventing potentially fatal missed interpretations that could lead to needless shock to the patients, resulting in damaging the heart. Apart from accurately classifying between VT and VF, the predetermination of the onset of the ventricular arrhythmias is also important in order to allow for more efficient monitoring of patients and can potentially save one’s life. Thus, this research intends to focus on developing a system called Classification and Onset Determination System (CODS) that is able to classify, track and monitor ventricular arrhythmias by using a method called Second Order Dynamic Binary Decomposition (SOD-BD) technique. Two significant characteristics (the natural frequency and the input parameter) were extracted from Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals that are provided by Physiobank database and analyzed to find the significant differences for each ventricular arrhythmia types and classify the ECGs accordingly (N, VT and VF). The outcome from these ECG extractions was also used to locate the onset of ventricular arrhythmia that is useful to predict the occurrence of the heart abnormalities. All the ECGs analysis, parameters extraction, classification techniques, and the CODS are developed using LabVIEW software

    The Sulalatus Salatin is clearly a form of historical literature that contained a lot of stories, myth, especially during the period pre-Melaka until the existence of Melaka itself.The objective of this study is to identify the mythological aspect and its kinship with the king\u27s authority. The research will use cultural theories. Mythology has always been connected with the tales of gods which always have a kinship with the constituents of faith.This element usually associated with the beginning of a race or ancestral root of an individual, especially royalties which were invariably tied to the extraordinary & peculiar tales.In the essence, mythology is the tale of the origins which encompasses the roots of blood line, the name of a place, the arrival of Islam, etc. In the context of societal belief, mythology is not just something respectable, but the mythical event was thought to actually took place and studied as something sacred.This clearly proves that myth has already existed even before the emergence of Tun Seri Lanang as the author of Sulalatus Salatin. Therefore, this research is produced with the aim to observe the mythological elements in the text of Sulalatus Salatin and the role of its story as a moral duty in fulfilling the King\u27s wishes

    The Relationship Between Employability Skill and Career Choices Among Vocational Skill Students

    Employability Skills terminology is widely used in many countries it is the basic skills needed in the 21st century. This study aims to look at the relationship between career choices employability skills among vocational skill student. This study participated by 106 third year vocational students in vocational colleges participated in this study. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential. The findings of the relationship employability skills with career choices recorded value is .742, which also proved a strong relationship between these variables. In conclusion, the employability skills are need to be improved by applying more effective by the vocational training to ensure they are eligible for employment after graduation. The study also proved that the employability skills of students affect them more likely to choose a career in the same field with the course they have chose

    Hybrid Microstrip Diplexer Design for Multi-band WiMAX Application in 2.3 and 3.5 GHz Bands

    In this paper, a design of hybrid microstrip diplexer is proposed for multi-band Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) application in 2.3 and 3.5 GHz bands. The diplexer consists of a combination of two different filter designs. These filters were designed based on microstripline coupling techniques in order to obtain minimum insertion losses and achieve the desired frequency bandwidth. Therefore, a coupled open loop ring resonator was chosen for the filter design in 2.3 GHz band and a folded coupled line resonator was chosen for the filter design in 3.5 GHz band. Then, these filters were combined with a ring manifold matching network to be a hybrid microstrip diplexer. Based on the results, good agreements were achieved between the simulation and measurement results in terms of insertion loss, return loss and bandwidth in the 2.3 and 3.5 GHz bands

    Cognitive function assessment in young adult using trail making and stroop tests

    Cortical network between brain regions is one of the topics that being investigated by brain researchers. Methods that are used to investigate brain developments of cognitive function include Partial Directed Coherence (PDC) and the power spectrum of the brain activity. The purposes of this study were to determine the cortico-cortical functional connectivity between brain regions using PDC and to investigate the power spectrum of brain activity while performing cognitive function assessments. Twenty healthy young adults, age between 20 to 30 years old, were asked to perform two tasks/tests, Trail Making Test (TMTA-alphabet, TMTA-number, TMTB-mixed alphabets and numerical) and Stroop Task. An electroencephalogram (EEG) machine was used to record the brain signals, and the data were analyzed using PDC and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). Our findings showed that not only frontal area but temporal and occipital area also generates information and the information was sent to various scalp location. Theta frequency was significantly increased at frontal area while gamma and high-gamma frequency bands were significantly increased at centroparieto-occipito-temporal regions. All of these areas are associated with cognitive function doing specific task

    3D surface reconstruction from a single uncalibrated 2D image

    This paper described a simple computation to reconstruct 3D surface using a single uncalibrated 2D image from a digital camera as an image acquisition device that also focused on fast processing. An object is placed on a table with black background for the digital camera to shoot an image of the object. Image segmentation methods are applied in order to obtain the shape of the object from silhouette. The concept Radon transform is adopted to generate sinograms of the object and it is then inverse Radon transform is used to construct 2D cross-section of the object layer by layer. Canny edge detection helps to get the outline of each cross-section and coordinate points are extracted forming 3D point cloud from the image slices. 3D surface of the object is then reconstructed using Delaunay triangulation to connect each point with another. The results obtained from this project are satisfying regarding the processing time with recognizable shape and also strengthened with considerably low percentage error in the calculation for all six objects used in the experiment

    Practical performance analysis of real-time multiprocessor scheduling algorithms

    This paper presents a practical performance analysing of two real-time multiprocessor scheduling algorithms, namely, Largest Remaining Execution-Time and Local Time Domain (LRE-TL) and Unfair Semi-Greedy (USG). The analysis is intended to reflect the behindthe- scene time overhead incurred by optimal real-time algorithms such as LRE-TL. The overhead is known to be capable of dismissing the actual optimality of such algorithms in practical applications. Here, the time overhead is measured in terms of the number of scheduler invocations and the time required by the scheduling event handlers. In the implementation of the proposed analysis method, the CPU profiler of Oracle JavaTM VisualVM was used to monitor the executions of LRE-TL and USG. The profiler measured the number of invocations of the scheduling event handlers for each algorithm and the total time required for all the invocations. The results revealed that USG outperformed LRE-TL on both measures, indicating that optimal algorithms may prove to be non-optimal in practical applications.Keywords: Real-time; Multiprocessor; Schedulin

    Analysis of switching and matching stubs in reconfigurable power divider with SPDT switch function

    In this paper, performance analysis of switching and matching stubs was done to a reconfigurable power divider with Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) switch function. Two designs (Design A and Design B) with different positions of switches and matching stubs were proposed. Rogers RO4350 (er=3.48, h=0.508 mm) was used in this analysis as a substrate material with copper thickness of 0.035 mm. The performance analysis was carried out based on insertion loss, return loss and isolation parameters. The simulated results showed that Design B had a better performance than Design A and was able to work as a reconfigurable power divider with SPDT switch function
