Uniqueness of rotation invariant norms
If N >= 2, then there exist finitely many rotations of the sphere S(N) such that the set of the corresponding rotation operators on L(p)(S(N)) determines the norm topology for 1 < p <= infinity. For N = 1 the situation is different: the norm topology of L(2)(S(1)) cannot be determined by the set of operators corresponding to the rotations by elements of any 'thin' set of rotations of S(1).The authors were supported by MEC (Spain) Grant MTM2006-04837 and Junta de Andalucía Grants FQM-185 and Proyecto de Excelencia P06-FQM-01438

Tobacco control policies in the 21 st century: achievements and open challenges
Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), including cancer, are responsible for almost 70% of all deaths worldwide. Tobacco use is a risk factor common to most NCDs. This article discusses tobacco control policies and highlights major achievements and open challenges to reduce smoking prevalence and attributable morbidity and mortality in the 21st century. The introduction of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control in 2005 has been a key achievement in the field and has already facilitated a drop in both smoking prevalence and exposure to secondhand smoke. Indicatively, the size of the worldwide population benefiting from at least one cost-effective tobacco control policy has quadrupled since 2007. In addition, plain cigarette packaging has been successfully introduced as a tobacco control policy, surmounting efforts of the tobacco industry to challenge this based on trade and investment law. Nevertheless, tobacco control still faces major challenges. Smoking prevalence needs to be further reduced in a rather expedited manner. Smoke-free environments should be extended, and the use of plain tobacco packaging with large pictorial health warnings for all tobacco products should be further promoted in some parts of the world. Some of these measures will require prompt determination and diligence. For example, bold political decisions are needed to significantly increase real prices of tobacco products through excise taxes, ban added ingredients that are currently used to increase the attractiveness of tobacco products and ban the tobacco industry's corporate social responsibility initiatives. Finally, the debate on harm reduction strategies for tobacco control still needs to be resolved
Current Aspects in Trichinellosis
Currently, it is estimated that more than 11 million humans in the world are infected by helminth parasites of Trichinella species, mainly by Trichinella spiralis (T. spiralis), responsible for causing Trichinellosis disease in both animals and humans. Trichinellosis is a cosmopolitan parasitic zoonotic disease, which has direct relevance to human and animal health, because it presents a constant and important challenge to the host’s immune system, especially through the intestinal tract. Currently, there is an intense investigation of new strategies in pharmacotherapy and immunotherapy against infection by Trichinella spiralis. In this chapter, we will present the most current aspects of biology, epidemiology, immunology, clinicopathology, pharmacotherapy and immunotherapy in Trichinellosis

Funding for open access charge: Universidad de Granada/CBUA.C*-algebras, group algebras, and the algebra A(X) of approximable operators on a Banach space Xhaving the bounded approximation property are known to be zero product determined. In this paper we give a quantitative estimate of this property by showing that, for the Banach algebra A, there exists a constant awith the property that for every continuous bilinear functional phi: A x A -> C there exists a continuous linear functional xi on A such that
sup(parallel to a parallel to=parallel to b parallel to=1) vertical bar phi(a, b) - xi(ab)vertical bar <= alpha sup(parallel to a parallel to=parallel to b parallel to=1ab-0), vertical bar phi(a, b)vertical bar
in each of the following cases: (i) Ais a C*-algebra, in which case alpha = 8; (ii) A = L-1(G) for a locally compact group G, in which case alpha = 60 root 271+sin pi/10/1-2sin pi/10; (iii) A = A(X) for a Banach space Xhaving property (A)(which is a rather strong approximation property for X), in which case alpha = 60 root 27 1+sin pi/10/1-2sin pi/10 C-2, where C is a constant associated with the property(A) that we require forX.MCIU/AEI/FEDER Grant PGC2018-093794-B-I00Junta de Andalucia FQM-185Proyectos I+D+i del programa operativo FEDER-Andalucia Grant A-FQM-484-UGR18MIU PhD scholarship Grant FPU18/00419Universidad de Granada/CBU
