The understanding of the body and movement in Merleau-Ponty
The author seeks an explanation for Merleau-Ponty’s expression “the body understands”, to which he applies a real value: the objects of the world have a signification that the body grasps by way of perception. The analysis focuses on Phenomenology of Perception and on notes from two courses: Le monde sensible et le monde de l’expression and La nature. There is a constant allusion to the I can as an underlying and grounding mode with regard to the I think. Therefore, the French philosopher grants a central role to the movement that demonstrates the interweaving of the body with the world
From U.A.V. photogrammetry to 3D modeling of the Valencian Silo-Yard in Burjassot
[EN] The importance of recording and documenting cultural and archaeological heritage has provided the opportunity to integrate new technologies and other fields of science for their purpose. The incorporation of geomatics tools allows to generate precision and a wide level of detail in the capture and processing of information. The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (U.A.V.) in order to capture of images around opened spaces with photogrammetric processes permit obtain high quality information. After the process and right use of some software, 3d model can be generated. This project seeks to apply this methodology in an area of archaeological importance located in the City of Valencia (Spain) called as Valencian Silo-Yard.
This process has been carried out through different stages where the application and the use of technologies and photogrammetric methodologies applied to the heritage documentation are initially introduced. Further on historical approach has been made to the area under study in order to understand its historical importance and its legacy to the Valencian community.
Subsequently the detailed way of the process of acquiring the information and the post-processing performed is described.
Finally, this project pursues to apply the methodology in the construction of a 3D model that allows to visualize graphically the detail of the construction and conservation of the area.[ES] La importancia de registrar y documentar el patrimonio arqueológico y cultural ha brindado la oportunidad de integrar nuevas tecnologías y otros campos de la ciencia para su propósito. On the reduction of 4-oxo-4h-benzopyran-3-carbaldehydes : global and local electrophilicity patterns
The theoretical global and local electrophilicity patterns of substituted and chelated
4-oxo-4H-benzopyran-3-carbaldehydes (formylchromones) have been evaluated using the electrophilicity
index proposed by Parr et al [J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1999, 121, 1922]. The complexation of formylchromones
with aluminum predicts a strong electrophilic character of these compounds against nucleophiles.
Local response at the active sites may also be assessed in terms of a global contribution described by
the global electrophilicity, and a local contribution described by the variations in electrophilic
Fukui function at those sites. The highest local electrophilicity is found at the formyl group of
the chelated formylchromones, in spite of that, the highest positive charge is located on the pyrone
carbonyl group. This result is consistent with the experimental observed reactivity displayed by
4-oxo-4H-benzopyran-3-carbaldehydes in the presence of 2-propanol and alumina
incisor extraction between dentists, dentistry students and common people .Trujillo -2015.
The study was prospective, transversal, comparative and observational consisting of dentists,
dentistry students at the Private University Antenor Orrego and common people; which were
selected through a non-probabilistic method, for convenience. At each assessment in the Visual
Analog Scale (VAS) was a used image to determine the degree of perception by showing was
made.
The collected data were processed in an automated manner in the statistical program SPSS
version 22.0 (IBM, Armonk, NY, USA), and then present the results in tables and / or
statistical graphics showing the results according to the objectives. The mean minimum and
maximum values were calculated, medians, standard deviations, Comparison of aesthetic
perception of black spaces in patients with lower incisor extraction between dentists,
dentistry students and common people was performed using the nonparametric Kruskal-
Wallis (k independent samples) in view of the alleged breach normality (KS corrected
Lilleifors and Shapiro Willk) and homogeneity of variances of groups (Statistical Levene).
Similarly Kruskal-Wallis test was used to compare as area that is dedicated (in dentists) and
by year of study (in stomatology students). The Mann-Whitney U test was also used for
comparison 2-2 to find statistical significance with Kruskal-Wallis and compare the
aesthetic perception of black spaces in patients with lower incisor extraction by sex. ForTesi
The role of habit in human behavior according to M. Merleau-Ponty
The issue of habit appears frequently in the Phenomenology of Perception, but nowhere in this book does Merleau-Ponty treat it in an exclusive way. He uses it rather to explain the pre-reflective nature of the original relationship of the person with the world that surrounds him or her, a theme that runs throughout all his work. This article first presents some ideas regarding the Structure of Behavior that serve as a background to understand Merleau-Ponty’s view of habit. The analysis then focuses on the Phenomenology of Perception, in which Merleau-Ponty explains the role of habit as a link and “understanding” that the body has with the world. The space experienced by one’s own body is the first aspect that highlights the importance of habit and serves to introduce a more direct understanding of what Merleau-Ponty conceives as a kind of anchorage of the subject in the world. The article concludes with an explanation of the relationship between habit and freedom.Key words: Merleau-Ponty, habit, own body, lived space, freedom, phenomenology
The union body-soul in Thomas Aquinas in dialogue with A. Kenny
In this paper, some of the arguments advanced by Thomas Aquinas in the first part of Summa Theologiae are  analized. I focus specifically in I, q. 75 a. 4 and q. 76 a. 1, in which Aquinas deals with the union between body  and soul. My aim is to contrast the analytical interpretation of A. Kenny in Aquinas on mind, chapters 11 and 12,  with Aquinas’ arguments based mainly on metaphysical principles. Based on that, I try to respond to Kenny’s  objections and, at the same time, to clarify Aquinas’ doctrine about the unity of the human person.

Factors associated with early childhood caries in Chile
AbstractObjectiveTo determine the prevalence of caries and identify the associated factors among children aged 2 and 4 years in southern Chile.MethodsA cross-sectional study was conducted in a random sample of 2,987 children. Dental examinations were performed in all participating children and a self-administered survey was administered to their primary caregivers. The statistical analysis included a zero inflated negative binomial regression model.ResultsThe prevalence of caries was 20.3% for 2-year-olds and 52.7% for 4-year-olds. The factors associated with caries included the following: living in the Bio-Bío region, PR2year-old: 1.65 (1.10-2.47), PR4year-old: 1.44 (1.18-1.75) and having a low socioeconomic position, PR2year-old: 5.39 (2.14-13.57), PR4year-old: 3.71 (2.68-5.13) or a medium socioeconomic position, PR2year-old: 2.79 (1.06-7.33), PR4year-old: 2.70 (1.92-3.79). In 4-year-olds, a high frequency of consuming sugary drinks at bedtime (PR: 1.30; 1.06-1.59), not brushing teeth daily (PR: 1.37; 1.18-1.60), and the presence of gingivitis (PR: 1.64; 1.28-2.09) were also associated with caries.ConclusionsThe high prevalence of caries in this young group is concerning. The factors associated with caries identified in this study could help in the design of preventive interventions at early ages
