History of research in the Faculty of Psychology of the UNMDP: predominant lines (1992 - 2012)

Se presentan resultados de una investigación sobre formación de grado en Psicología llevada a cabo en la UNMdP, en el grupo Historia enseñanza y profesionalización de la Psicología en el Cono Sur, en el marco de una beca de investigación categoría perfeccionamiento. El objetivo fue relevar las características de la actividad y producción investigativa de la Facultad de Psicología de la UNMP desde la reapertura de la carrera en 1992 (momento en que se abre la Secretaria de Investigación) hasta el año 2012. Este relevamiento sirvió de base para comparar el estado de la producción investigativa con los requerimientos para el mejoramiento curricular (según Resolución Ministerial 343/09). En el siguiente trabajo realizamos un recorte de la investigación y presentamos los análisis de los proyectos de investigación (N=183), de becas de Investigación (N=161) y de tesis de postgrado (N=29) radicados en la unidad académica. Se trató de un estudio exploratorio descriptivo de carácter longitudinal que proporcionó información basada en datos empíricos para poder avanzar en las acciones de mejoramiento del área de investigación en Psicología a nivel local.Results regarding a research about Bachelor Psychology formation, which was conducted in National University of Mar del Plata in the History, Teaching and Professionalization of Psychology in Southern Cone, under a grant for Investigation Improvement category the aim was to show the characteristics of the activity and research outcomes of the Faculty of Psychology UNMDP since the reopening of the career in 1992 (which is the opening time of the Research Secretary) until 2012. This survey was the basis to compare the condition or state of research production with the actual needs of curricular improvement (per Ministerial Resolution 343/09). In this paper we are showing a part of the research and presenting the correspondent analysis of the projects (N=183), research grants (N=161) and graduate theses (N=29) based in this academic unit to which we referred. This research was an exploratory, descriptive and longitudinal study that provided information based on empirical data, so as to allow the advance in improving actions in the research field of Psychology, locally.Fil: Moya, Luis Alberto. Design of an attitude control algorithm based on data from a single horizon sensor

The aim of this work is to develop an optimization algorithm using MATLAB that is able to determine the attitude of a slender body satellite when this is close to Earth-pointing nominal conditions. The Overview of a Foreigner. José Ortega y Gasset’s Thinking about Psychology in Argentinian Men and Women

La psicología de los argentinos y argentinas fue una temática que atrajo la curiosidad de algunos observadores extranjeros. Entre los que visitaron la Argentina y escribieron sobre ella en la primera mitad del siglo XX, encontramos al norteamericano Waldo Frank, al alemán Keyserling y al filósofo español Ortega y Gasset, este ultimo viajó al país en tres oportunidades generando agudas observaciones acerca de la idiosincrasia de este pueblo. Dejó constancia de sus meditaciones en Intimidades, ensayo que forma parte de El Espectador. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar, a partir de dichos escritos, sus reflexiones acerca de las diferencias entre la psicología de los varones y las mujeres argentinas, en la conformación de la identidad nacional, entendiendo una asimetría fundamentada en la idea de nuestro país como un pueblo joven.Argentinian psychology in both genders was a topic that attracted the curiosity of some foreign observers. Amongst the ones that visited Argentina and wrote about it in the first half of the twentieth century, we found the American Waldo Frank, the German Keyserling and the Spanish philosopher Ortega y Gasset. The latter travelled to the country in three opportunities, generating sharp observations about the idiosyncrasy of its people, recording his meditations in the essay “Intimidades”, which is part of “El Espectador”. The present work aims to analyze, from these writings, the reflections that the Spanish philosopher made regarding the differences between the psychology of Argentinian men and women. Anatomical and Chemical Insights into the White Clover (Trifolium repens L.) Seed Coat Associated to Water Permeability

White clover (Trifolium repens L.) seeds can exhibit physical dormancy, which produces hard seeds within a seed lot. These seeds do not germinate because they do not imbibe water due to a barrier to water entry in the seed coat. The aim of this work was to analyze the anatomical and chemical characteristics of the testa of white clover seeds with respect to water permeability levels. Seeds of the cv. NK Churrinche (2004 and 2006 harvests) were characterized via anatomical studies and determination of structural substances, polyphenols, tannins, and cutins present in the testa of seeds of different water permeability levels. Anatomically, increased testa thickness was associated with a decreased permeability level. Very slow-hydration seed coats exhibit thicker cuticle, longer macrosclereids, thicker cell wall, and the presence of wide osteosclereids than rapid-hydration seed coats; these differences are associated with a slower hydration speed and with a barrier to water entry to the seed. From the physiological and chemical points of view, the mechanism of physical dormancy of the testa would be explained by a greater amount of hydrophobic components that cement the cell wall, such as polyphenols, lignins, condensed tannins, pectic substances, and a higher proportion of cellulose and hemicellulose

Caracterización de la Distribución de los Niveles de Presión Sonora para el Casco Central del Cantón de San José

In recent years, measuring, monitoring and mitigation of noise has become an important issue because of the increase thereof caused by different sources. The objective of this article is to characterize the distribution of sound pressure levels for San José down town. These taking measurements on laboral day in three different lapses, in twelve points of the city using a sound meter 3M SD-2000, besides observations were made to characterize the noise sources. As main results, was observed that average sound pressure levels at the measuring points exceeded the parameters of local legislation from 2dB(A) to 5 dB(A) and that the largest source of noise was caused by traffic.Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica. Análisis granulométrico de agregados grueso y fino

Se ha realizado el estudio de suelo con el objeto de determinar la composición del suelo y su humedad que presento. Para esto se ha programado de manera previa tres sondeos en la zona donde se localiza el predio. Se analizarán las propiedades físicas, gravimétricas, y mecánicas del suelo, con el fin de determinar qué tipo de clasificación tiene el suelo a evaluar.The soil study has been carried out in order to determine the composition of the soil and its humidity that I present. For this, three surveys have been scheduled in advance in the area where the property is located. Affective computing for smart operations: a survey and comparative analysis of the available tools, libraries and web services

In this paper, we make a deep search of the available tools in the market, at the current state of the art of Sentiment Analysis. Our aim is to optimize the human response in Datacenter Operations, using a combination of research tools, that allow us to decrease human error in general operations, managing Complex Infrastructures. The use of Sentiment Analysis tools is the first step for extending our capabilities for optimizing the human interface. Using different data collections from a variety of data sources, our research provides a very interesting outcome. In our final testing, we have found that the three main commercial platforms (IBM Watson, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure) get the same accuracy (89-90%). for the different datasets tested, based on Artificial Neural Network and Deep Learning techniques. The other stand-alone Applications or APIs, like Vader or MeaninCloud, get a similar accuracy level in some of the datasets, using a different approach, semantic Networks, such as Concepnet1, but the model can easily be optimized above 90% of accuracy, just adjusting some parameter of the semantic model. This paper points to future directions for optimizing DataCenter Operations Management and decreasing human error in complex environments
