Meteodiversity Index during the 20 th century in Europe

The aim of the project is to study how the Meteodiversity Index have distributed over Europe between 1950 and 2000. To develop the research, 7 meteorological variables have been obtained from the data of 23 meteorological stations across Europe. The paper includes an analysis of the sensitivity of the Meteodiversity Index to changes in the inputs. Then, the evolution of the Meteodiversity Index is studied, both by climate type, according to Köppen climate classification system, and by geographical location. Finally, in the light of the results, another analysis is performed to determine the relationship between the Meteodiversity Index and the climatic tendencies of Europe. Once all data is processed and analyzed, the conclusions of the research are presented and future work on this topic is proposed

Patrimonio artístico durante la Guerra civil y la posguerra: investigación, catalogación y gestión digital del arte salvado

Esta investigación estudia y cataloga las miles de obras salvadas y depositadas en lugares seguros por la República durante la Guerra civil española, e indaga el destino de estas obras durante la posguerra bajo el régimen de Franco. Se ha creado una sede web con una base de datos narrativa, participativa, accesible y abierta que permite el análisis y la colaboración de otros investigadores y de cualquier persona interesada. El objetivo es aunar la indagación histórico-patrimonial y la gestión digital colaborativa y abierta para compartir con la sociedad los resultados de una investigación pendiente. Se aprovechan las posibilidades de la web 2.0, de la web semántica, de la geolocalización y de la inteligencia artificial para seguir los avatares de las obras. Siempre se utiliza software libre, al que se le añaden los algoritmos y las aplicaciones necesarias para su optimización. Estas aportaciones también pasan a formar parte del dominio público

Prediction system for job and service requests in professional sectors

El presente trabajo presenta un sistema que predice peticiones de trabajos y servicios en formato de texto en categorías o sectores profesionales. Se realiza una comparativa de distintos algoritmos de Categorización Automática de Textos para evaluarlos y construir el sistema. El sistema forma parte de una aplicación web que intermedia entre particulares que demandan presupuestos sobre trabajos y profesionales que buscan clientes y ofertan servicios.System that predicts job requests and services in text format into categories or sectors. A comparison of different algorithms for Automatic Text Categorization is performed in order to build the final system. The system is part of a web application that mediates between individuals who demand estimates about jobs and professionals who seek clients and offer services

R-symmetry and supersymmetry breaking at finite temperature

We analyze the spontaneous U(1) R symmetry breaking at finite temperature for the simple O'Raifeartaigh-type model introduced in [1] in connection with spontaneous supersymmetry breaking. We calculate the finite temperature effective potential (free energy) to one loop order and study the thermal evolution of the model. We find that the R-symmetry breaking occurs through a second order phase transition. Its associated meta-stable supersymmetry breaking vacuum is thermodynamically favored at high temperatures and the model remains trapped in this state by a potential barrier, as the temperature lowers all the way until T = 0.Facultad de Ciencias Exacta

We exploit the relationship between the space components Ti j of the energy-momentum tensor and the supercurrent to discuss the connection between the BPS equations and the vanishing of the components of the stress tensor in various supersymmetric theories with solitons. Using the fact that certain combination of supercharges annihilate BPS states, we show that Ti j = 0 for kinks, vortices and dyons, displaying the connection between supersymmetry and non-interacting BPS solitons.Facultad de Ciencias Exacta
