L’alumnat immigrant en el CP Joan Mas (Pollença)

    Get PDF

    Get PDF

Assessment of mortar evolution in pig slurry by mechanical and ultrasonic measurements

    Get PDF
This work presents the results obtained in a long-term experiment focused on the study of the evolution of cementitious materials immersed in pig slurry at real conditions. Cement mortars were made with four different cement types and immersed in pig slurry for 48 months. Furthermore, to separate pure hydration process from pig slurry effect, mortar samples were immersed in water for 12 months at laboratory conditions. Compressive strength, X-ray diffraction and ultrasonic measurements were made in all samples. Ultrasonic measurements were made from ultrasonic images obtained from automatic ultrasonic inspections. Use of ultrasonic images has allowed the extraction of information about the state of the studied materials. An empirical relationship between ultrasonic velocity and compressive strength has been obtained and the long-term effect of pig slurry on cementitious materials has been determined

    p-adic methods in string theory

    Get PDF
Treballs Finals de Grau de Física, Facultat de Física, Universitat de Barcelona, Any: 2015, Tutor: Artur TravesaWe briefly describe string theory and p-adic string theory and their purposes. Next, we introduce some necessary mathematical machinery. This is used to explain a regularization of a product formula due to Freund and Witten with unclear meaning. Finally, we prove the main formula and conclude with its usage

Sobre construcció i urbanisme cristià i jueu a Mallorca (segle XIV)

This paper brings forth some documents that illustrate from life the process of constructing more rooms in a sanctuary of the Serra de Mallorca in the fourteenth century. The bills for some wooden ceilings in a Jewish residence are also presented. On the other hand, problems due to the introduction os small, family-run mills in the city of Mallorca are demonstrated

Re-assembling sustainable food cities: An exploration of translocal governance and its multiple agencies

    Get PDF
Cities have begun to develop a more “place-based approach” to food policy that emphasizes translocal alliances. To understand how such alliances develop distinct capacities to act, in this paper we integrate key theoretical contributions from governance networks, social movements and translocal assemblages. Our analysis focuses on the activities and tools used by the UK’s Sustainable Food Cities Network to assemble local experiences, create common imaginaries and perform collective action. Through these processes, we argue, the network creates cross-scalar, collective and distributive agencies that are modifying incumbent governance dynamics. As we conclude, this raises the need to further explore how translocal configurations can develop forms of power that contest, break or reassemble the relations in the food system that are actively preventing the emergence of more sustainable foodscapes
