Constraints between concurrence and polarization for mixed states subjected to open system dynamics

Entanglement and polarization are mutually constrained by the relationship C2 + P2 = 1, which engages concurrence (C) of a pure, two-qubit state and the degree of polarization (P) of either of its two subsystems. How the above constraint generalizes for mixed states, is an open question. We address mixed, two-qubit states of the X type, i.e., those whose density matrix has nonzero elements only in the two main diagonals. We focus on mixed states that arise out of a pure, two-qubit state that is subjected to either the amplitude damping channel or the depolarizing channel. We derive alternative constraints for concurrence and polarization and test them experimentally with polarization-entangled photons. We argue that our theoretical results hold also for classical light, whenever two binary degrees of freedom can be entangled.El entrelazamiento y la polarización son dos cantidades que se restringen mutuamente por la relación C2 + P2 = 1, donde participa la concurrencia (C) de un estado puro bipartito y el grado de polarización (P) de cualquiera de los dos subsistemas. Cómo esta relación de complementariedad se generaliza para el caso de estados mixtos es una pregunta abierta. Nosotros abordamos el caso de estados mixtos bipartitos de tipo X, aquellos con solo entradas no nulas en sus dos diagonales principales. Nos centramos en estados mixtos que resultan de estados puros bipartitos sujetos a la evolución de dos tipos de canales de decoherencia: Amplitude damping channel y depolarizing channel. Se obtienen relaciones de complementariedad alternas para la concurrencia y el grado de polarización, las cuales se comprueban experimentalmente con fotones entrelazados en polarización. Consideramos que nuestros resultados teóricos también son válidos para luz clásica en el caso dos grados de libertad binarios se puedan entrelazar

Factores asociados al bajo peso al nacer en recién nacidos atendidos en neonatología del hospital de Sullana, Piura, 2018

Introducción: Actualmente, el término bajo peso al nacer hace referencia a un problema mundial en el contexto de la salud, siendo los recién nacidos con peso deficiente aquellos que presenten serias repercusiones para subsistir, limitando su posterior calidad de vida. Objetivo: Determinar los factores asociados al bajo peso al nacer en recién nacidos atendidos en Neonatología del Hospital de Sullana, Piura, 2018. Metodología: Estudio retrospectivo, analitico, de corte transversal. una ficha de recolección de datos que servirá para recolectar las variables sociodemográficas (edad, género, estado civil, procedencia, etc), variables preconcepcionales de la madre (antecedentes obstétricos y personales, características del embarazo, infecciones, tipo de parto) y las características clínicas del recién nacido (peso al nacer, anomalías congénitas) para identificar los principales factores de riesgo para posteriormente ingresar los datos a una base de datos. Resultados: Los factores preconcepcionales de las madres de los recién nacidos con bajo peso al nacer fueron: la mediana de embarazos y de partos fue de 4, de cesáreas fue de 3, de abortos fue de 2, del periodo intergenésico fue de 4 años. El 22,3% presentó adicciones, el 56,9% controles prenatales incompletos, sólo el 9,6% tuvo embarazo gemelar, el 32,5% delgadez como estado nutricional, el 64,9% comorbilidades, el 46,3% ganancia de peso baja, sólo el 15,4% sepsis foco urinario y el 45,7% fueron parto pretérmino. La mediana de edades fue de 26 años, el 48,4% procedía de una zona rural, el 64,4% eran convivientes, el 52,1% tenían un grado de instrucción primaria. Las características clínicas de los recién nacidos con bajo peso al nacer que son atendidos en Neonatología del Hospital de Sullana, Piura, 2018, fueron: el 6,4% pesaba menos de 1500 gramos, y el 4,2% presaba menos de 1000 gramos. Conclusión: Los factores de riesgo asociados a bajo peso al nacer fueron: la presencia de adicciones, control prenatal inadecuado, estado nutricional y la ganancia de peso, presencia de comorbilidades, la edad materna y el grado de instrucción

PROGRAMA DE CAPACITACIÓN DIRIGIDO A LOS HOTELES DE BARRANQUILLA PARA ATENCIÓN A PERSONAS CON DISCAPACIDAD

This project analyzes the existing problems in the Barranquilla’s hotels regarding the level of training of workers in the accommodation sector respect to the care of people with disabilities. The development of a complementary training program focused on the care and service, that should be provided to people with disabilities in hotels, derives from the inconveniences that have been presented with these clients when using hotel services. Barranquilla city is growing in its hotel capacity, besides being an epicenter of sports events for people with disabilities, for example, the wheelchair tennis tournament held annually in this city; therefore, it is essential to have qualified personnel to meet your needs and achieve the total satisfaction of these clients. According to its scope, it responds to a descriptive inquiry. To the date the characterization of hotels in Barranquilla has been carried out, the checklists have been applied to establish the architectural accessibility and the level of training of the workers, and then design the complementary training program focused on the care of persons with disabilities.Este proyecto analiza la problemática existente en los hoteles de la ciudad de Barranquilla con respecto al nivel de capacitación de los trabajadores del sector hotelero referente a la atención a personas con discapacidad – PCD -. La elaboración de un programa de capacitación complementaria enfocado a la atención y servicio que se debe prestar a las personas con discapacidad en los hoteles, se deriva de los inconvenientes que se han presentado con huéspedes y usuarios que utilizan los servicios hoteleros de la ciudad. Barranquilla está creciendo en su capacidad hotelera, además de ser epicentro de eventos deportivos para PCD, ejemplo de ello, el torneo de tenis en silla de ruedas que se realiza anualmente en esta ciudad; por lo tanto, es primordial tener personal cualificado para atender sus necesidades y lograr la satisfacción total. Según su alcance, responde a una investigación descriptiva. A la fecha se ha realizado la caracterización de hoteles de Barranquilla, se han aplicado de listas de chequeo para establecer la accesibilidad arquitectónica y nivel de capacitación de los trabajadores, para luego diseñar el programa de formación complementaria enfocada a la atención a personas con discapacidad

Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) in Education for Sustainable Development: A Bibliographic Review

In recent years, technological advances have played a very important role in our society, as well as in different educational contexts, including Education for Sustainable Development. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), which have made it possible to improve the quality of life of many people. The aim of this study is to review the scientific evidence on the use of ICTs for Sustainable Development. Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyzes (PRISMA) guidelines, a bibliographic search was carried out using the Web of Science and Scopus bibliographic repositories, with a total of 19 articles comprising the final sample for review. The results show that the most preeminent strategies used are mobile learning and distance education, which are related to the achievement of the sustainable development goals. Included among the conclusions of this study is the need to investigate the different strategies that are being carried out, with ICTs in school aimed at developing a more sustainable environment standing out

Importance of the identification of the CYP3A4*2 polymorphism for the prescription of pharmacological treatment

The CYP3A4*2 polymorphism is rare in the population studied. Given the low frequency of CYP3A4*2 polymorphisms found in homozygous or heterozygous condition, it is advisable to consider the genotype of the patient before prescribing drugs metabolized by this gene.Variability in response to drugs is a problem in clinical practice. The rate of patients who respond adequately to pharmacological therapy is generally around 60. The CYP450 multienzyme complex is a microsomal system located in the endoplasmic reticulum. The enzymes participate in phase I metabolism of xenobiotics. CYP3A4 is the isoenzyme mostly expressed in liver. Its gene is polymorphic, of which CYP3A4*1A is the wild allele and CYP3A4*2 is a polymorphism which consists of the S222P substitution in the amino acid sequence, affecting the activity of the enzyme. Methods: In this study, we determine the frequency of CYP3A4*2 polymorphism in Mexican individuals. 62 apparently healthy individuals, from Toluca de Lerdo, Mexico. The sample was 3 mL of peripheral blood. The DNA was extracted and PCR-RFLPs were performed. Results:58 individuals possess the wild allele in homozygosity CYP3A4*1A/CYP3A4*1A (94%) and 4 individuals were heterozygous CYP3A4*1A/CYP3A4*2 (6%). The homozygous polymorphic CYP3A4*2/CYP3A4*2 was not found in any individual.COMECY

Examining the Role of Environment in a Comprehensive Sample of Compact Groups

(Abridged) Compact groups, with their high number densities, small velocity dispersions, and an interstellar medium that has not been fully processed, provide a local analog to conditions of galaxy interactions in the earlier universe. The frequent and prolonged gravitational encounters that occur in compact groups affect the evolution of the constituent galaxies in a myriad of ways, for example gas processing and star formation. Recently, a statistically significant "gap" has been discovered mid-infrared IRAC colorspace of compact group galaxies. This gap is not seen in field samples and is a new example of how the compact group environment may affect the evolution of member galaxies. In order to investigate the origin and nature of this gap, we have compiled a sample of 49 compact groups. We find that a statistically significant deficit of galaxies in this gap region of IRAC colorspace is persistant in this sample, lending support to the hypothesis that the compact group environment inhibits moderate SSFRs. We note a curvature in the colorspace distribution, which is fully consistent with increasing dust temperature as the activity in a galaxy increases. This full sample of 49 compact groups allows us to subdivide the data according to physical properties of the groups. An analysis of these subsamples indicates that neither projected physical diameter nor density show a trend in colorspace within the values represented by this sample. We hypothesize that the apparent lack of a trend is due to the relatively small range of properties in this sample. Thus, the relative influence of stochastic effects becomes dominant. We analyze spectral energy distributions of member galaxies as a function of their location in colorspace and find that galaxies in different regions of MIR colorspace contain dust with varying temperatures and/or PAH emission.Comment: 24 pages, 13 figures. The author of Vita Fructuosi, probably a monk follower of Saint Fructuosus of Braga in the area of Gallaecia, shows in this biography an evident sense of rooting in the monastic Tradition, specially in the Egyptianeastern one, and also he declares a strong Roman-Catholic and Hispanic conscience.
