[Level of Understanding and Practice of Reasonable Knowledge Among Unisza Students] Tahap Pemahaman dan Pengamalan Ilmu Mantik dalam Kalangan Mahasiswa UniSZA

Ilmu Mantik or logic plays a significance role in building a systematic thinking. Thus, its able to be instrumens of reasoning in dialective theology. This research examined the level of understanding and practice of Ilmu Mantik among Usuluddin Department’s students of Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). This research involved 124 respondents. In this study, the researcher conducts quantitative research and employs descriptive analysis. Findings illustrate that, the level of understanding toward Ilmu Mantik is high while the level of practice is low. This trend shows that the students have ability to understand the subject theoretically but fail in practical aspect of Ilmu Mantik. This article further recommends that revision on Ilmu Mantik’s syllabus to be more emphasize on practical aspect. This will encourage students to master and practice Ilmu Mantik in their daily intellectual life.   Keywords: Ilmu Mantik, Understand, Practice, UniSZA   Ilmu Mantik atau logik memainkan peranan penting dalam membina pemikiran yang sistematik. Penemuan menggambarkan bahawa, tahap pemahaman terhadap Ilmu Mantik adalah tinggi manakala tahap pengamalannya adalah rendah. Ini menunjukkan bahawa pelajar mempunyai keupayaan untuk memahami subjek secara teorinya tetapi gagal dalam aspek praktikalnya. Makalah ini seterusnya mencadangkan agar semakan pada sukatan pelajaran Ilmu Mantik lebih ditekankan kepada aspek praktikal. The capacity of education facilities and the implications for the well-being of the people in Mukim Serendah

The population growth in an area has a strong connection with the capacity of the facilities enjoyed by the population. At present, Mukim Serendah is enjoying rapid population growth. The population growth has impacted some of the provided facilities which are no longer capable to meet the demands of the population. The study was conducted to examine the capacity of education facilities and it implications for the population's wellbeing. This study uses a capacity-based analysis based on the Community Facilities Planning Guidelines issued by the Federal Department of Town and Country Planning Peninsular Malaysia in 2013. The study used secondary data involving population data, number of schools and, number of students. A total of 400 respondents in Mukim Serendah were involved in this study. The study found that there were differences in the capacity of educational facilities in Mukim Serendah. Educational facilities in Mukim Serendah mostly do not meet the targetted standards. The under equipped facilities had affected students, teachers and parents. The results of this study are important to the party responsible for the planning of educational facilities to ensure adequate and better facilities for the residents in the future. Areas that are lacking in the carrying capacity of educational facilities need to be improved by adding the number of schools. Therefore, these educational facilities would meet the needs and improve the wellbeing of the population

Modern biomass-based transportation fuels from pyrolysis process, bio-ethanol, bio-methanol and bio-diesel

In this paper, the modern biomass-based transportation fuels such as fuels from Pyrolysis process, bio-ethanol, bio-methanol, and bio-diesel are briefly reviewed. Here, the term bio-fuel and non-organic fuel is referred to as liquid or gaseous fuels for the transport sector that are predominantly produced from biomass. There are several reasons for bio-fuels and non-organic fuel to be considered as relevant technologies by both developing and industrialized countries. They include energy security reasons, environmental concerns, foreign exchange savings, and socioeconomic issues related to the rural sector. The term modern biomass is generally used to describe the traditional biomass use through the efficient and clean combustion technologies and sustained supply of biomass resources, environmentally sound and competitive fuels, heat and electricity using modern conversion technologies. Modern bio-mass can be used for the generation of electricity and heat. Bio-ethanol, bio-methanol and bio-diesel as well as diesel produced from biomass by Pyrolysis process are the most modern biomass-based transportation fuels. Pola susunan maklumat teks ucapan Belanjawan Malaysia 2019

Bahasa secara umumnya dilihat sebagai syarat yang perlu ada dalam kehidupan manusia untuk menjayakan aktiviti sosial. Dari perspektif ucapan, bahasa digunakan untuk berbagai-bagai tujuan seperti melahirkan buah fikiran, berkomunikasi, menyebarkan ideologi dan mempengaruhi khalayak ramai. Ucapan yang berkesan lazimnya mempunyai gabungan maklumat yang teratur melalui pola susunan maklumat yang dikemali sebagai tema dan rema. Penggunaan tema dan rema membolehkan ayat-ayat dalam perenggan disusun dengan baik sehingga urutan maklumat menjadi lancar dan tidak tergantung. Oleh itu, makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti jenis pola susunan maklumat dan menjelaskan fungsi penggunaanya dalam teks ucapan Belanjawan 2019. Data teks ucapan telah dimuat turun oleh pengkaji melalui portal rasmi Kementerian Kewangan Malaysia (MOF) pada 25 Mac 2019 – http://www.treasury.gov.my/pdf/bajet/ucapan/ub19.pdf . Penyelidikan ini merupakan kajian berbentuk deskriptif yang menggunakan kaedah kualitatif. Kerangka pemikiran pergerakan tematik (thematic progression) yang diilhamkan oleh Danes (1974) telah dijadikan pegangan sepanjang proses penyelidikan dilakukan. Berdasarkan hasil kajian, terdapat empat jenis pola susunan maklumat yang digunakan oleh pewacana iaitu, tematik linear (zig-zag), tematik tema kekal, tematik tema daripada hipertema dan tematik tema daripada perincian pecahan rema. Kolaborasi keempat-empat pola susunan maklumat menunjukkan bahawa pola-pola ini berperanan dalam mewujudkan makna teks ucapan belanjawan 2019 yang kontekstual, tersusun dan mudah diterima oleh pengguna bahasa. Hal ini demikian, pola susunan maklumat yang dijalinkan dapat dapat menstruktur satu aliran huraian maklumat yang logik dan sistematik oleh pewacana kepada khalayak

Unsur penanda wacana dalam teks ucapan Belanjawan 2019

Teks ucapan dianggap sebagai wacana yang sempurna dengan wujudnya penghubung yang bertunjangkan semantik antara komponen teks. Pertalian yang dikenali sebagai penanda wacana ini membolehkan ayat-ayat dalam perenggan disusun dengan baik sehingga urutan maklumat menjadi lancar dan mudah difahami. Oleh itu, makalah ini bertujuan untuk mencungkil pelbagai unsur penanda wacana dan rasional penggunaannya dalam teks ucapan Belanjawan 2019 sebagai salah satu cara untuk mengalirkan mesej penting kepada khalayak ramai. Teks ucapan ini merupakan strategi belanjawan parti gabungan Pakatan Harapan yang pertama apabila memegang tampuk pemerintahan kerajaan Malaysia yang baharu. Penyelidikan ini merupakan kajian berbentuk deskriptif yang menggunakan kaedah kualitatif. Kerangka pemikiran adverba anafora Asmah (2008) dan teori Nahu Fungsian (Halliday & Matthiessen, 2014) telah dijadikan pegangan dalam proses penyelidikan. Berdasarkan hasil kajian, terdapat pelbagai jenis unsur penanda wacana yang digunakan oleh pengucap dalam teks ucapan Belanjawan 2019. Penghubung penambahan, adverba tujuan dan adverba manfaat dilihat sebagai tiga unsur penanda wacana yang kerap digunakan dalam usaha pembikinan teks ucapannya. Namun begitu, teks ucapan ini juga sarat dengan pengemblengan beberapa unsur penanda wacana lain. Kolaborasi beberapa unsur penanda wacana telah menunjukkan bahawa penghubung memainkan peranan penting dalam memastikan ketekstualan ucapan Belanjawan 2019 dan seterusnya dapat mewujudkan makna yang kontekstual, tersusun dan mudah diterima oleh pengguna bahasa

Women rights to inheritance in Muslim family law: an analytical study

Rights of women are one of the widely discussed yet debatable issues across the Western and Muslim world. It is seen in the Muslim societies that many women are deprived in terms of inheriting property after the demise of their parents. This is largely happening due to the negligence of practicing Islamic teachings regarding inheritance at individual and family level. However, Islam has placed a dignified position for women in family and society in all sectors. Particularly the principle of inheritance of property has been clearly stated in the holy Qur’an. In this background, this paper emphasises on exploring (a) Qur’anic and Prophetic stand on women’s right to inheritance, (b) the main obstacles that impede women in getting inheritance rights in family and its remedies from the Islamic perspectives. This paper adopts an analytical approach to study this vital issue. Under this approach, the study analyses the relevant data from the two fundamental sources of Islam, Qur’an and Sunnah, along with jurisprudential views and provides solutions to solve the problems related to Muslim women’s inheritance right in family. Findings of this paper indicated that if the Muslim family practices the Islamic teachings regarding the distribution of inheritance among the heirs, it will eradicate the existing discrimination among men and women in this regard and enable women’s financial steadiness in family and society

Synergistic enhancement in the microelectronic properties of poly-(dioctylfluorene) based Schottky devices by CdSe quantum dots

This paper reports the potential application of cadmium selenide (CdSe) quantum dots (QDs) in improving the microelectronic characteristics of Schottky barrier diode (SBD) prepared from a semiconducting material poly-(9,9-dioctylfluorene) (F8). Two SBDs, Ag/F8/P3HT/ITO and Ag/F8-CdSe QDs/P3HT/ITO, are fabricated by spin coating a 10 wt% solution of F8 in chloroform and 10:1 wt% solution of F8:CdSe QDs, respectively, on a pre-deposited poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) on indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate. To study the electronic properties of the fabricated devices, current-voltage (I-V) measurements are carried out at 25 °C in dark conditions. The I-V curves of Ag/F8/P3HT/ITO and Ag/F8-CdSe QDs/P3HT/ITO SBDs demonstrate asymmetrical behavior with forward bias current rectification ratio (RR) of 7.42 ± 0.02 and 142 ± 0.02, respectively, at ± 3.5 V which confirm the formation of depletion region. Other key parameters which govern microelectronic properties of the fabricated devices such as charge carrier mobility (µ), barrier height (ϕ ), series resistance (R ) and quality factor (n) are extracted from their corresponding I-V characteristics. Norde's and Cheung functions are also applied to characterize the devices to study consistency in various parameters. Significant improvement is found in the values of R , n, and RR by 3, 1.7, and 19 times, respectively, for Ag/F8-CdSe QDs/P3HT/ITO SBD as compared to Ag/F8/P3HT/ITO. This enhancement is due to the incorporation of CdSe QDs having 3-dimensional quantum confinement and large surface-to-volume area. Poole-Frenkle and Richardson-Schottky conduction mechanisms are also discussed for both of the devices. Morphology, optical bandgap (1.88 ± 0.5 eV) and photoluminescence (PL) spectrum of CdSe QDs with a peak intensity at 556 nm are also reported and discussed

THE EFFECT OF SERVICE MARKETING MIX ON SALES PERFORMANCE: THE CASE OF AN INSURANCE COMPANY IN PERAK, MALAYSIA

This study aimed to examine the effects of the 7Ps of marketing mix on the sales performance of an insurance company in Perak, Malaysia. The name of the insurance company is not revealed in this study because the management of the insurance company refused to give consent fearing a breach of data protection laws. Seven marketing mix variables were explored regarding their association and relationship with sales performance. The seven key factors are product, price, promotion, placement, people, process, and physical evidence. A self-administered survey was utilized to gather the data, and 101 participants participated in this study. Pearson correlation analysis and linear regression analysis were used to analyse the association and the relationships between the dependent and independent variables. Findings from this study indicated that two key elements of the marketing mix, price, and physical evidence, have a significant relationship with sales performance. In contrast, the results also indicated no significant relationships between the other marketing mix variables of product, place, promotion, people, and process with sales performance. Therefore, according to this study, price and physical evidence directly affected the sales performance of the insurance company in this study.  Article visualizations
