Comparing IPv7 and Cache Coherence
The implications of highly-available information have been far-reaching and pervasive. Given the trends in amphibious models, biologists daringly note the exploration of Byzantine fault tolerance. In order to achieve this mission, we concentrate our efforts on disconfirming that object-oriented languages and symmetric encryption [20] are regularly incompatible
The Muscular Female Athlete: Negotiating Conflicting Identities and Bodies
Competing assumptions, expectations, and discourses surrounding the institution of sports, femininity, and the feminine body create a conflicting paradox for female athletes. Existing research was investigated to examine the ways in which female athletes negotiate their conflicting roles in society and how they feel about their muscular bodies. Feminist theory, gender-role conflict theory, and identity work are used. Results show athletes employ apologetic behaviors, defensive othering, and create fluid identities in response to experiencing gender-role conflict. In terms of their bodies, female athletes feel differing sentiments dependent on environment, reject conflicting messages about their body, and/or reject their musculature. Due to significant social changes in how Western society views and understands gender, gender identity, and gender expression, future research should reinvestigate how female athletes experience their identities and bodies. Additionally, future studies should strive to use a multi-method approach and incorporate a more diverse and representative sample of female athletes
Apparatus and method for suppressing sound in a gas turbine engine powerplant
A method and apparatus for suppressing jet noise in a gas turbine engine powerplant 10 is disclosed. Various construction details are developed for providing sound suppression at sea level take-off operative conditions and not providing sound suppression at cruise operative conditions. In one embodiment, the powerplant 10 has a lobed mixer 152 between a primary flowpath 44 and a second flowpath 46, a diffusion region downstream of the lobed mixer region (first mixing region 76), and a deployable ejector/mixer 176 in the diffusion region which forms a second mixing region 78 having a diffusion flowpath 72 downstream of the ejector/mixer and sound absorbing structure 18 bounding the flowpath throughout the diffusion region. The method includes deploying the ejector/mixer 176 at take-off and stowing the ejector/mixer at cruise
Report on the 2012 Proficiency Test on pyrrolizidine alkaloids in honey and hay
The purpose of this proficiency test was to investigate the current measurement capacities of testing laboratories for pyrrolizidine alkaloids in honey and plant materials. The scheme consisted of two parts: Benchmarking performance of laboratories against known estimates of pyrrolizidine alkaloids in the samples and checking for methodological differences while measuring naturally contaminated materials.
Twenty-eight laboratories expressed their will to participate and analysed multiple analytes in several test samples of honey and plant material.
The analysis of spiked honey showed no statistical differences between determining a common sum parameter for alkaloids and individual determination. A significant difference has been found however for of naturally contaminated materials. Individual alkaloid determination showed significantly lower results, possibly because of the presence of substances contributing to the sum parameter that were not in the scopes of the methods applied as well as lack of standard materials available on the market.
Satisfactory performance for all of analytes has been achieved by more than half of participants analysing for both: sum parameter, and alkaloids analysed individually.JRC.D.5-Standards for Food Bioscienc
Strange Particles from NEXUS 3
After discussing conceptual problems with the conventional string model, we
present a new approach, based on a theoretically consistent multiple scattering
formalism. First results for strange particle production in proton-proton
scattering at 158 GeV and at 200 GeV (cms) are discussed.Comment: invited talk, given at the Strange Quark Matter Conference, Atlantic

Longitudinal muon spin relaxation in high purity aluminum and silver
The time dependence of muon spin relaxation has been measured in high purity
aluminum and silver samples in a longitudinal 2 T magnetic field at room
temperature, using time-differential \musr. For times greater than 10 ns, the
shape fits well to a single exponential with relaxation rates of

Direct growth of graphene on GaN via plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition under N2 atmosphere
One of the bottlenecks in the implementation of graphene as a transparent electrode in modern opto-electronic devices is the need for complicated and damaging transfer processes of high-quality graphene sheets onto the desired target substrates. Here, we study the direct, plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) growth of graphene on GaN-based light-emitting diodes (LEDs). By replacing the commonly used hydrogen (H2) process gas with nitrogen (N2), we were able to suppress GaN surface decomposition while simultaneously enabling graphene deposition at lt;800 °C in a single-step growth process. Optimizing the methane (CH4) flow and varying the growth time between 0.5 h and 8 h, the electro-optical properties of the graphene layers could be tuned to sheet resistances as low as ∼1 kΩ/D with a maximum transparency loss of ∼12. The resulting high-quality graphene electrodes show an enhanced current spreading effect and an increase of the emission area by a factor of ∼8 in operating LEDs. © 2020 The Author(s)
