The Current Adoption of Dry-Direct Seeding Rice (DDSR) in Thailand and Lessons Learned for Mekong River Delta of Vietnam
The paper documents the joint study trip, organized by CCAFS Southeast Asia for Vietnamese rice researchers, extension workers, as well as local decision makers, to visit Thailand in April 2018. The goal of the study trip was to observe and learn the experience of Thai farmers on the large-scale adoption process of dry-direct seeding rice (DDSR), a viable alternative to address regional scarcity of fresh water in irrigation caused by the drought and salinity intrusion in the Mekong River Delta
Superfield Calculation of Loop Contribution in Extra Dimensional Theories
Superfields provide a compact description of supersymmetry representations.
Loop corrections with superfield formalism are simpler and much more manageable
than calculation in terms of component fields. In this paper we calculate the
contribution of the Kaluza-Klein states, associated with extra dimensions, to
the renormalization group beta function. These Kaluza-Klein particles circulate
in the virtual loop, hence affecting the overall corrections at any order. We
obtain the one-loop correction, which checks with the result previously
obtained using the more laborious component field method. In addition, we

Design of industrial system using digital numerical control
Purpose: This paper would be based on applying quality 4.0 technology to mechanical factories. The overall purpose of quality 4.0 technology is to transition production lines from semi-automatic production to automatic production.
Methodology/Approach: The lean six-sigma with five phases of Define Measure Analysis Improve Control (DMAIC) would be used to measure the quality of 4.0 integration. Each phase is composed of statistical tools, hypothesis testing, experimental design, industrial tools, etc. to provide less error for precision in manufacturing control.
Findings: Results shows that scrap products decreased by 59.66% per year, the productivity of the production line assembly increased by 7.8%, and the total lead time decreased by 20 minutes. As well as the required payments and the monthly reduction of value cost of 500 USD for jig improvement, and profit is 678 USD per month and 7,636 USD per year.
Research Limitation/Implication: Gaseous hydrocarbons or organic compounds from n-hexane can be a challenge for sensors utilizing signals for researchers. Also, another issue would be the power supply output to the sensor due to external interference.
Originality/Value of paper: This research focuses on applying the usage of sensors from a semi-automatic machine tool to an automatic machine tool.

Healthcare use for diarrhoea and dysentery in actual and hypothetical cases, Nha Trang, Viet Nam.
To better understand healthcare use for diarrhoea and dysentery in Nha Trang, Viet Nam, qualitative interviews with community residents and dysentery case studies were conducted. Findings were supplemented by a quantitative survey which asked respondents which healthcare provider their household members would use for diarrhoea or dysentery. A clear pattern of healthcare-seeking behaviours among 433 respondents emerged. More than half of the respondents self-treated initially. Medication for initial treatment was purchased from a pharmacy or with medication stored at home. Traditional home treatments were also widely used. If no improvement occurred or the symptoms were perceived to be severe, individuals would visit a healthcare facility. Private medical practitioners are playing a steadily increasing role in the Vietnamese healthcare system. Less than a quarter of diarrhoea patients initially used government healthcare providers at commune health centres, polyclinics, and hospitals, which are the only sources of data for routine public-health statistics. Given these healthcare-use patterns, reported rates could significantly underestimate the real disease burden of dysentery and diarrhoea
Flexural-strengthening efficiency of cfrp sheets for unbonded post-tensioned concrete T-beams
There has been a limited number of studies about the flexural behavior of unbonded post-tensioned concrete (UPC) beams strengthened with carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) and these studies have not systematically examined the effect of CFRP sheets on the tendon strain as well as the strengthening efficiency. Moreover, current design guides for the FRP strengthening techniques have not provided any design procedure for UPC structures. This study, thus, investigates the influence of CFRP sheet ratio on the flexural behavior of CFRP-strengthened UPC T-beams and quantifies its effect upon tendon behavior in this kind of UPC beams. The testing program consisted of nine large-scale UPC T-beams strengthened by different layers of CFRP sheets with or without CFRP U-wrapped anchors. The experimental results have shown that the use of CFRP sheets and CFRP U-wrapped anchors significantly affected the tendon strain. The FRP reinforcement ratio governed the flexural capacity, the crack width, the mid-span displacement, and the ductility of the beams in which the strengthening efficiency reduces with the increased number of CFRP layers. The configuration of the CFRP U-wrapped anchors affected the strain of the CFRP sheets, the failure mode and thus the beam behavior. In addition, semi-empirical equations were proposed to estimate the actual strain of unbonded tendons in which the effect of the CFRP sheets and CFRP U-wrapped anchors have been taken into consideration. Visible light-induced switching of soft matter materials properties based on thioindigo photoswitches
Thioindigos are visible light responsive photoswitches with excellent spatial control over the conformational change between their trans- and cis- isomers. However, they possess limited solubility in all conventional organic solvents and polymers, hindering their application in soft matter materials. Herein, we introduce a strategy for the covalent insertion of thioindigo units into polymer main chains, enabling thioindigos to function within crosslinked polymeric hydrogels. We overcome their solubility issue by developing a thioindigo bismethacrylate linker able to undergo radical initiated thiol-ene reaction for step-growth polymerization, generating indigo-containing polymers. The optimal wavelength for the reversible trans-/cis- isomerisation of thioindigo was elucidated by constructing a detailed photochemical action plot of their switching efficiencies at a wide range of monochromatic wavelengths. Critically, indigo-containing polymers display significant photoswitching of the materials’ optical and physical properties in organic solvents and water. Furthermore, the photoswitching of thioindigo within crosslinked structures enables visible light induced modulation of the hydrogel stiffness. Both the thioindigo-containing hydrogels and photoswitching processes are non-toxic to cells, thus offering opportunities for advanced applications in soft matter materials and biology-related research
HierarchyNet : learning to summarize source code with heterogeneous representations
Code representation is important to machine learning models in the code-related applications. Existing code summarization approaches primarily leverage Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs) and sequential information from source code to generate code summaries while often overlooking the critical consideration of the interplay of dependencies among code elements and code hierarchy. However, effective summarization necessitates a holistic analysis of code snippets from three distinct aspects: lexical, syntactic, and semantic information. In this paper, we propose a novel code summarization approach utilizing Heterogeneous Code Representations (HCRs) and our specially designed HierarchyNet. HCRs adeptly capture essential code features at lexical, syntactic, and semantic levels within a hierarchical structure. HierarchyNet processes each layer of the HCR separately, employing a Heterogeneous Graph Transformer, a Tree-based CNN, and a Transformer Encoder. In addition, HierarchyNet demonstrates superior performance compared to fine-tuned pre-trained models, including CodeT5, and CodeBERT, as well as large language models that employ zero/few-shot settings, such as CodeLlama, StarCoder, and CodeGen. The Study of Isomeric Ratios in Photonuclear Reactions Forming High Spin Isomers in the Giant Dipole Resonance Region
We studied the isomeric ratios in odd-odd nuclei Au,Ta and Ir with high spin isomeric states produced in Au Au, W Ta and PtIr reactions by using the activation technique and -ray spectroscopic method in the giant dipole resonance (GDR) region. The high-purity natural Au, W and Pt foils in disc shape were irradiated with bremsstrahlungs generated from an electron accelerator Microtron. The irradiated foils were measured by the high resolution -ray spectroscopic system which consists of a Ge(HP) detector and a multichannel analyzer. In order to improve the accuracy of the experimental results, necessary corrections were made in the -ray activity measurements and data analysis. The results were analyzed, discussed and compared with those of other authors as well as with theoretical model calculations. The study shows that the isomeric ratios in nuclei with high spin isomeric states are much lower than that in low spin isomeric state isomers
Environmental allergen reduction in asthma management: an overview
Asthma is a prevalent non-communicable disease that affects both children and adults. Many patients with severe, uncontrolled asthma could not achieve total control despite using anti-asthmatic drugs. There is increasing evidence that allergy to environmental allergens, including both indoor and outdoor allergens, is associated with asthma symptoms and severe asthma. Frequently reported sensitized allergens were dust mites, cockroaches, grass pollens, molds, pets, and rodents in allergic asthma patients, although the patterns of widespread allergens differed from each country. Allergen avoidance is the cornerstone of asthma management, especially in sensitized subjects. This review summarizes environmental allergen avoidance and clarifies their effects on asthma control. Despite contrasting results about the impact of allergen exposure reduction on asthma control, several studies supported the beneficial effects of reducing asthma-related symptoms or risk of exacerbations as a nondrug therapy. Identifying environmental allergens is helpful for asthma patients, and further studies on clinically effective avoidance methods are required
