En este trabajo se analizan una serie de indicadores que sirven para el análisis de los cambios en la tendencia de los precios de los valores bur-sátiles. El análisis técnico pretende anticipar y predecir los cambios en la tendencia de los precios de las acciones y otros valores cotizados en un mercado, lo que posibilitará que el inversor tome una posición determinada para aprovecharse de la evolución futura de dichos precios. Una emulsión lipídica basada exclusivamente en aceite de pescado revierte la colestasis

Prolonged parenteral nutrition (PN) leads to liver damage. Recent interest has focused on the lipid component of PN. A lipid emulsion based on w-3 fatty acids decrease conjugated bilirubin. A mixed lipid emulsion derived from soybean, coconut, olive, and fish oils reverses jaundice. Here we report the reversal of cholestasis and the improvement of enteral feeding tolerance in 1 infant with intestinal failure-associated liver disease. Treatment involved the substitution of a mixed lipid emulsion with one containing primarily omega-3 fatty acids during 37 days. Growth and biochemical tests of liver function improved significantly. This suggests that fat emulsions made from fish oils may be more effective means of treating this condition compared with an intravenous lipid emulsion containing soybean oil, medium -chain triglycerides, olive oil, and fish oilLa nutrición parenteral prolongada produce daño hepático. Recientemente se ha comunicado el efecto de las emulsiones lipídicas intravenosas basadas exclusivamente en ácidos grasos omega-3 en la resolución de la colestasis. Lo mismo se ha observado con el uso de emulsiones lipídicas mixta derivadas del aceite de soja, coco, oliva y pescado. Comunicamos la desaparición de colestasis y mejoría de la tolerancia enteral en un niño con enfermedad hepática asociada a nutrición parenteral. El tratamiento consistió en sustituir una emulsión lipídica mixta por otra que contenía de forma exclusiva aceite de pescado durante 37 días. El crecimiento y los datos bioquímicos de función hepática mejoraron de forma significativa. Este caso sugiere que emulsiones lipídicas intravenosas a partir de aceite de pescado pueden ser mas eficaces para tratar la colestasis si se comparan con emulsiones mixta

Liberal governmentality in Spain: bodies, minds, and the medical construction of the “outsider,” 1870–1910

This paper traces the fragility of the subject in the period extending from the aftermath of the Sexenio through to the early twentieth century. In particular, two case studies are focused upon: the question of gender “deviance” and the figure of the genius, in order to understand how medicine participated in the construction of “outsider” identities within the context of the emerging liberal order. How did liberal rationales exclude or curtail certain wayward expressions of identity and subjectivity? What consequences did the marking of “excessive” figures or outsiders have for notions of inclusiveness and citizenship within the late-nineteenth-century liberal order? By concentrating primarily on medical texts and journals published during the period, this study builds on existing research to tease out answers to these questions

Heritage and the Sea: Maritime History and Archaeology of the Global Iberian World (15th -18th centuries)

This two-volume set highlights the importance of Iberian shipbuilding in the centuries of the so-called first globalization (15th to 18th), in confluence with an unprecedented extension of ocean navigation and seafaring and a greater demand for natural resources (especially timber), mostly oak (Quercus spp.) and Pine (Pinus spp.). The chapters are framed in a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary line of research that integrates history, Geographic Information Sciences, underwater archaeology, dendrochronology and wood provenance techniques. This line of research was developed during the ForSEAdiscovery project, which had a great impact in the academic and scientific world and brought together experts from Europe and America. The volumes deliver a state-of-the-art review of the latest lines of research related to Iberian maritime history and archaeology and their developing interdisciplinary interaction with dendroarchaeology. This synthesis combines an analysis of historical sources, the systematic study of wreck-remains and material culture related to Iberian seafaring from the 15th to the 18th centuries, and the application of earth sciences, including dendrochronology. The set can be used as a manual or work guide for experts and students, and will also be an interesting read for non-experts interested in the subject.Volume 1 focuses on the history and archaeology of seafaring and shipbuilding in the Iberian early modern world, complemented by case studies on timber trade and supply for shipbuilding, analysis of shipbuilding treatises, and the application of Geographic Information Systems and Databases (GIS) to the study of shipwrecks.Volume 2 focuses on approaches to the study of shipwrecks including a synthesis of dendro-archaeological results, current interdisciplinary case studies and the specialist study of artillery and anchors.Peer reviewe

Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter-2 Inhibitors at Discharge from Cardiology Hospitalization Department: Decoding A New Clinical Scenario

Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT-2 inhibitors) are new glucose-lowering drugs (GLDs) with demonstrated cardiovascular benefits in patients with heart disease and type-2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, their safety and efficacy when prescribed at hospital discharge are unexplored. This prospective, observational, longitudinal cohort study included 104 consecutive T2DM patients discharged from the cardiology department between April 2018 and February 2019. Patients were classified based on SGLT-2 inhibitor prescription and adjusted by propensity-score matching. The safety outcomes included discontinuation of GLDs; worsening renal function; and renal, hepatic, or metabolic hospitalization. The efficacy outcomes were death from any cause, cardiovascular death, cardiovascular readmission, and combined clinical outcome (cardiovascular death or readmission). The results showed that, the incidence rates of safety outcomes were similar in the SGLT-2 inhibitor or non-SGLT-2 inhibitor groups. Regarding efficacy, the SGLT-2 inhibitors group resulted in a lower rate of combined clinical outcomes (18% vs. 42%; hazard ratio (HR), 0.35; p = 0.02), any cause death (0% vs. 24%; HR, 0.79; p = 0.001) and cardiovascular death (0% vs. 17%; HR, 0.83; p = 0.005). No significant differences were found in cardiovascular readmissions. SGLT-2 inhibitor prescription at hospital discharge in patients with heart disease and T2DM was safe, well tolerated, and associated with a reduction in all-cause and cardiovascular deaths

Casa de los dioses, Nevado de Toluca. Arqueología y cosmovisión de una montaña sagrada.

Este es el tercer libro derivado de las investigaciones del Proyecto Arqueología Subacuática en el Nevado de Toluca de la Subdirección de Arqueología Subacuática del INAH. Con esta obra, se da un importante paso en el conocimiento de las actividades rituales que acontecieron dentro del cráter del volcán. A lo Largo de 13 capítulos escritos por diferentes especialistas, se abordan temas diversos como los objetos arqueológicos localizados en el volcán, los análisis en laboratorio y gabinete de las ofrendas depositadas en el interior de los lagos del Sol y la Luna, aspectos de la cronología arqueológica del valle de Toluca, así como posibles relaciones culturales y temporales entre el volcán y otros sitios arqueológicos de la región. Igualmente, se presentan relatos mitológicos sobre la formación del Nevado de Toluca, la importancia de las entidades acuáticas que regían los cuerpos de agua en las tierras bajas y los lagos del cráter, así como una amplia variedad de temas que aluden a la ritualidad, cosmovisión e identidad de esta montaña sagrada.Desde tiempos inmemorables, el volcán Nevado de Toluca ha sido un referente cultural de su paisaje circundante. En época prehispánica, era considerado una montaña viva y sagrada, donde moraban deidades a las cuales se rendía un culto especial. Las evidencias de este simbolismo han perdurado a lo largo del tiempo en los vestigios arqueológicos y en la cosmovisión de los habitantes de la región. En una Mezcla de la investigación arqueológica con el que hacer artístico, el libro está ilustrado con trabajos del grabador Joel Rendón Vázquez, destacado maestro de la gráfica mexicana.
