The Kramer sampling theorem revisited
The classical Kramer sampling theorem provides a method for obtaining orthogonal sampling formulas. Besides, it has been the cornerstone for a significant mathematical literature on the topic of sampling theorems associated with differential and difference problems. In this work we provide, in an unified way, new and old generalizations of this result corresponding to various different settings; all these generalizations are illustrated with examples. All the different situations along the paper share a basic approach: the functions to be sampled are obtaining by duality in a separable Hilbert space through an -valued kernel K defined on an appropriate domain. This work has been supported by the grant MTM2009–08345 from the Spanish Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación (MICNN).Publicad
On Some Sampling-Related Frames in U-Invariant Spaces
This paper is concerned with the characterization as frames of some sequences in -invariant spaces of a separable Hilbert space H where U denotes an unitary operator defined on H ; besides, the dual frames having the same form are also found. This general setting includes, in particular, shift-invariant or modulation-invariant subspaces in L2(R) , where these frames are intimately related to the generalized sampling problem. We also deal with some related perturbation problems. In doing so, we need the unitary operator to belong to a continuous group of unitary operators
Entrenamiento perceptivo en la portera de balonmano ante la trayectoria del tiro
This study aimed to analyze the application of a perceptive-motor training program effect in the handball goalkeeper and value the efficacy according to the shot trajectories, differentiating the moments of its application, under conditions of real practice. Two female goalkeepers were selected deliberately. A quasi-experimental case design of type A-B-A was utilized. The trained specialist registered the data in real time individually and after, watching the games recorded, out agreed by consensus. For the statistical processing the t of Student test for independent measures was carried out, an averages meaning contrast test and an anova followed by the post hoc Tukey test. The application of the program allowed to improve the effectiveness in the shot interception for the trajectories analyzed except those of half height.
Spatially Resolved Star Formation Main Sequence of Galaxies in the Califa Survey
Cano-Díaz, M. et. al.The >main sequence of galaxies> - defined in terms of the total star formation rate ψ versus the total stellar mass M - is a well-studied tight relation that has been observed at several wavelengths and at different redshifts. All earlier studies have derived this relation from integrated properties of galaxies. We recover the same relation from an analysis of spatially resolved properties, with integral field spectroscopic (IFS) observations of 306 galaxies from the CALIFA survey. We consider the SFR surface density in units of log(M yr Kpc) and the stellar mass surface density in units of log(M Kpc) in individual spaxels that probe spatial scales of 0.5-1.5 Kpc. This local relation exhibits a high degree of correlation with small scatter (σ = 0.23 dex), irrespective of the dominant ionization source of the host galaxy or its integrated stellar mass. We highlight (i) the integrated star formation main sequence formed by galaxies whose dominant ionization process is related to star formation, for which we find a slope of 0.81 ± 0.02; (ii) for the spatially resolved relation obtained with the spaxel analysis, we find a slope of 0.72 ± 0.04; and (iii) for the integrated main sequence, we also identified a sequence formed by galaxies that are dominated by an old stellar population, which we have called the retired galaxies sequence.Financial support: M.C.D. and S.F.S.: DGAPA-UNAM funding; CONACyT-180125 and PAPIIT IA-100815 projects. Functional imaging in radiation therapy planning for head and neck cancer
Functional imaging and its application to radiotherapy (RT) is a rapidly expanding field with new modalities and techniques constantly developing and evolving. As technologies improve, it will be important to pay attention to their implementation. This review describes the main achievements in the field of head and neck cancer (HNC) with particular remarks on the unsolved problems
Resonant radiation pressure on neutral particles in a waveguide
A theoretical analysis of electromagnetic forces on neutral particles in an
hollow waveguide is presented. We show that the effective scattering cross
section of a very small (Rayleigh) particle can be strongly modified inside a
waveguide. The coupling of the scattered dipolar field with the waveguide modes
induce a resonant enhanced backscattering state of the scatterer-guide system
close to the onset of new modes. The particle effective cross section can then
be as large as the wavelength even far from any transition resonance. As we
will show, a small particle can be strongly accelerated along the guide axis
while being highly confined in a narrow zone of the cross section of the guide.Comment: RevTeX,4 pages,3 PS figure

Asymmetric cell division requires specific mechanisms for adjusting global transcription
Most cells divide symmetrically into two approximately identical cells. There are many examples, however, of asymmetric cell division that can generate sibling cell size differences. Whereas physical asymmetric division mechanisms and cell fate consequences have been investigated, the specific problem caused by asymmetric division at the transcription level has not yet been addressed. In symmetrically dividing cells the nascent transcription rate increases in parallel to cell volume to compensate it by keeping the actual mRNA synthesis rate constant. This cannot apply to the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, where this mechanism would provoke a never-ending increasing mRNA synthesis rate in smaller daughter cells. We show here that, contrarily to other eukaryotes with symmetric division, budding yeast keeps the nascent transcription rates of its RNA polymerases constant and increases mRNA stability. This control on RNA pol II-dependent transcription rate is obtained by controlling the cellular concentration of this enzyme
Five-year atmospheric corrosion of cu, cr and ni weathering steels in a wide range of environments
This work considers fourteen weathering steels manufactured by adding Cu, Cr and Ni alloying elements to extra mild steel. The steels were exposed for up to 5 years in different atmospheres. The atmospheric corrosion resistance of the steels was evaluated and the rust layers formed were characterised by X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The addition of Ni, particularly at 3.0 wt%, leads to a notable increase in corrosion resistance. The rusts formed contain lepidocrocite, goethite and spinel phases. X-ray diffraction also detected small amounts of kornelite (industrial atmosphere) and akaganeite (marine atmosphere)
