To know the essence and the identity of the different urban settlements, morphological patterns are so important as the financial ones, social, politicians and cultural. For that reason, we have to analyze the historical evolution of the regions’ settlements of Baza and Huéscar, from its origin, successive transformations, and identifying and dissecting its varied ingredients. The particular history, natural factors, and determined forms of life, in this zone, have been reflected in the urban morphology of his villages and cities. That is, the overlap in settlements of several cultures and ethnographical uses has generated several morphologies and built landscapes, of great value environmental and historic. But the globalization ignores the local culture, the cityscape, transforming in confusing to this last one, which is why is precise a social assessment and a urban planification suitable for its preservation

The epiphyte load on the leaves of the seagrass Posidonia oceanica (L.) Delile was estimated at the end of summer in three sites and two depths (7 m and 17 m) of the Cabrera Archipelago National Park (Balearic Islands, Western Mediterranean) from 2004 to 2006 to evaluate if epiphyte load could be used as an indicator of anthropogenic nutrient loading in the shallow marine ecosystems of the park. Asymmetrical ANOVA was used to divide data variability into two components: the contrast between the site receiving direct anthropogenic inputs of nutrients and organic matter (Es Port) and the two control sites (Cala Santa María, Es Burri); and the variability between the control sites. The nitrogen concentration in P. oceanica leaves was higher in Es Port than in Cala Santa María and Es Burri but only at 7 m depth. There was no difference between the epiphyte load on P. oceanica shoots in Es Port and the sites without inputs at both 7 m and 17 m. However, the epiphyte load in Es Burri was higher than that in Cala Santa María at both depths. The results show that the epiphyte load on P. oceanica shoots was not a sensitive indicator of anthropogenic nutrient and organic matter loading in Cabrera Archipelago National Park.

Todo ello, en última instancia, le permitiría lograr un importante patrimonio personal, como queda de manifiesto en el inventario hecho tras su muerte en marzo de 1629.This work has the aim of illuminating one of the most important figures in the artistic life of the New Kingdom of Granada (Colombia), during the first third of the 17th century. He was born in 1580 in Porceyo, Gijón. After his first apprenticeship in a familiar environment, he arrived in Toledo at the beginning of the 17th century and completed his studies in the workshop of Alonso Sánchez Cotán. Although he had become a relative of his master, since he had married his sister María, marital disagreements took him to Santa Fe de Bogotá by 1618. Since he possessed a sound theoretical and practical education, he was highly respected there and also requested to lead the most important artistic enterprises of the moment, such as the main altarpiece of the cathedral or at the convent of San Francisco. Finally, these combined circumstances allowed him to attain great personal wealth, as it is stated in the inventory produced after his death in March 1629

Spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) is a common useful noninvasive imaging instrument which is used for the diagnosis and follow-up of macular disorders. The clinical findings by OCT in these pathologies are well known. Currently, due to the development of this technology and its wide use, new OCT findings have been reported in the literature. The aim of this chapter is to describe new pathological or abnormal signs and findings in SD-OCT, including hyperreflective spots or dots, flyer saucer sign, outer retinal tubulations, dipping sign, focal choroidal excavation, outer retina-choroid complex splitting, foveal pseudocyst, brush border pattern, dome-shaped macula, pearl necklace sign, choroidal macrovessel, cystoid foveal degeneration, and disorganization of the retinal inner layers (DRIL)

This paper aims to explore the pertinence of having an additional regional network such as the International Seminar on Urban Form-Hispanic (ISUF-H) and to reflect on the diversity of approaches in the context of the research carried out in the International Seminar on Urban Form (ISUF). ISUF-H is a branch of ISUF, established as one of the Regional Networks for the Spanish-speaking world. In general, the diversity and vitality of Spanish-language research is confirmed by the emergence and renewal of themes and methodologies of analysis and eclectic approaches - with architects and urban planners dominating over geographers and specialists from other disciplines. Relations with other European schools and traditions of urban form studies are considered. It also reflects on the interest and usefulness of this and other regional networks. Recent research presented at the ISUF-H conferences shows that barriers in multidisciplinary dialogue remain and continue to be a major challenge. Overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers is the other major challenge in this regard. The article refers to the latent controversies between an “Anglophone squint” and a “Hispanic self-absorption” since the creation of the ISUF-H, underlining the specificities of each context on the one hand, and the common goals on the other
