ABSTRACT Purpose: Describe the prevalence of diaper dermatitis (DD) and clinical characteristics of the infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that develop DD. Explore the relationships between clinical characteristics and the development of DD. Design: Retrospective, exploratory, descriptive study Setting: Level IV NICU in an urban community in Southeast Wisconsin. Participants: A convenience sample of 611 infants who were born and admitted to the NICU within 12 hours of life and discharged from the same NICU. A final total of 537 infants remained after exclusion criteria were met. Methods: Data were collected from the participant’s electronic health records from birth until the infant was discharged to home. Results: The prevalence of DD among the 537 infants was 34% (n = 180). A logistic regression demonstrated length of stay was significant, (B = 0.02, OR = 1.02, p = .002), indicating the odds of developing DD increased by ~2% for each additional day in the NICU. Days from birth to full feedings was also significant (B = -0.03, OR = 0.97, p = .023), indicating the odds of developing DD decreased by ~3% for each additional day to full feedings. Conclusions: Increased preventative measures among preterm infants at risk for an extended length of stay can potentially decrease the prevalence of DD

The survey of knowledge, attitude and behaviour of the communities in relation of malaria was carried out in Mentawai islands. The objective of the survey was to know the community\u27s knowledge, attitude and behaviour related of malaria and the efforts to prevent malaria endemic. This type of researchis a quantitative research with cross-sectional study design. The research subjects were taken are the mothers with children under nine years old. The sample taken from 6 (six) Community Health Centres (Puskesmas). The sample were 750. The results showed that most of the respondents (62.4%) stated that they have ever heard about malaria. There are 49.0% of the respondents who stated that the symptoms of malaria are fever and cold, and there are 29.4% who mentioned dizzy/headache. About the causes of malaria, there are 38.7% of the respondents who said that it is caused by mosquito bites, and there are 18.0% who mentioned dirty environment as the cause of malaria. The efforts of whom that are usually done to prevent from being bitten by malaria mosquitoes are sleeping using mosquito-nets (79.3%) and using mosquito repellent (75.1%). In general, the communities had knew that in order to prevent the spread of malaria, they need to use mosquito repellent and sleep using mosquito nets (there are 85.6% of the respondents who agree with using mosquito nets and there are 93.1% of them who have had mosquito nets

This paper studied on optimizing the 3D scan parameters of flared chisel bucket teeth as a worn component to achieve prospect scanning micro wear in different percentage of volume loss.  Taguchi L8 orthogonal array was used to design of experiment. Specimen composed in three different volume loss 1%, 3%, and 5% were scanned to obtain model CAD volumes. Volume dissimilarity was calculated by comparing model CAD volume and mass – density conversion. Shutter Time, grid, distance, and meshing were chosen as 3D scan parameters. Biggest effect and optimal scanning parameter were determined using the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio which was calculated for volume dissimilarity according to the ‘‘the-smaller-the-better’’ approach. The effects of scanning parameter were evaluated by analysis of variance. 3D imaging feasibility study for small volume measurement could be a critical point in micro wear measurement. The statistical analysis indicated that the parameters that have the biggest effect on volume dissimilarity with 1%, 3%, and 5% volume loss are the meshing method and distance, respectively. The optimal setting parameter capturing image is 12 ms shutter time with normal meshing above 15 mm distance. Additionally, the interaction scanning parameter for 1%, 3%, and 5% volume loss was presented

The Indonesia Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) showed that the prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding among infants age under 4 month was 53.7 percent in 1991 and 47.3 percent in 1994. In the Outer Jawa Bali region 56.2 percent infants and in Jawa Bali region 41.4 percent infant were not exclusively breastfed (OR =1.81 CI 1.35-2.44). In the rural areas 54.2 percent infants and in urban area 48.2percent infants were not exclusively breastfed (OR=1.27 CI 0.96-1.69). The other potential factors: mothers education and occupation, social activities, infant care and exposure to mass media especially printed media — showed non significant influence on mothers practice for exclusive breasfeeding. Non exclusive breastfeeding was most prevalent among mothers not exposed to electronic media (radio or TV) (57.9 percent) than mothers exposed to electronic media (50.8 percent) (OR=1.32 CI 1.00-1.78)

This paper will examine the emergence of Health and Wellbeing Boards in Nottinghamshire and the City of Nottingham and explore the implications for sport and physical activity. At the time of writing the transfer of responsibilities for Public Health and the establishment of Health and Wellbeing Boards in both the City of Nottingham and within Nottinghamshire County Council are considered to be relatively advanced by the Strategic Health Authorities, the respective local authorities and by the boards of the two Primary Care Trusts. "Shadow" Health and Well being Board have been established in both authorities and they have been meeting regularly for s everal months. Public health and commissioning staff have also been successfully relocated and new strategies and priorities are starting to emerge. Nottingham and Nottinghamshire have traditionally acknowledged the role of sport and physical activity to the wider determinants of public health and given a relatively high priority to the contribution that sport and physical activity can make to the ir preventative health and early intervention agendas. This paper will look at the transition to Health and Wellbeing boards to assess how the role of sport and physical activity may be changing and to identify opportunities for its contribution to policy and practise in the future. It will examine both the theory and practise behind the emerging governance arr angements, the strategic objectives and priorities, and the developing evidential base for future policy and delivery within the two areas
