    Dipolar Drag in Bilayer Harmonically Trapped Gases

    We consider two separated pancake-shaped trapped gases interacting with a dipolar (either magnetic or electric) force. We study how the center of mass motion propagates from one cloud to the other as a consequence of the long-range nature of the interaction. The corresponding dynamics is fixed by the frequency difference between the in-phase and the out-of-phase center of mass modes of the two clouds, whose dependence on the dipolar interaction strength and the cloud separation is explicitly investigated. We discuss Fermi gases in the degenerate as well as in the classical limit and comment on the case of Bose-Einsten condensed gases.Comment: Submitted to EPJD, EuroQUAM special issue "Cold Quantum Matter - Achievements and Prospects

    Increasing territorial capitalization by incorporation of small enterprises into clusters

    Modernization of the Russian national economy depends on small businesses and their involvement in capitalization of the territorial potential. This article discusses methods, models, and mechanisms of territorial capitalization based on incorporation of small business enterprises into clusters along with medium- and large businesses. We propose an optimization model for assessing the efficiency of such clusters: our research has shown that this model can be applied for decision-making in regional strategic planning. Methodologically, this study relies on the theories of industrial development and economic growth, the industrial cluster theory, and the works of Russian and international researchers on mechanisms of management of territorial potential, their establishment and implementation. Capitalization of the region's resource potential manifests itself in the form of static and dynamic effects. We developed models of interaction between small and other businesses and structures within a cluster oriented towards territorial capitalization. We demonstrated that incorporation of a university into a cluster structure increases the innovative capacity of all cluster members. This research may be further expanded to study the mechanisms of involving small businesses operating in peripheral areas into clusters

    New light-times curve of eclipsing binary AM Leo

    We present 72 photoelectric and CCD times of minima of eclipsing binary AM Leo obtained mainly during 1996-2017 at Kourovka Astronomical Observatory of the Ural Federal University in Russia. We obtained new values of period of 50.5 years and eccentricity of 0.28 of the orbit of the eclipsing pair around the mass center of the system AM Leo with the third body.     Effect of intra-ply voids on the homogenized behavior of a ply in multidirectional laminates

    This work focuses on the effect of intra-ply voids on the homogenized nonlinear behavior of a ply in multidirectional composites. Voids were modeled explicitly on the fiber scale and linked to the ply-scale by the recently developed two-scale framework which couples Classical Laminate Theory on the macro-scale with Finite Element analysis on the micro-scale. Laminates [+/- 45](2s) and [+/- 67.5](2s) were used as validation cases. The computed homogenized behavior of plies with and without voids for each laminate were compared against existing experimental data on manufactured plates. The nonlinearity of the homogenized stress-strain curves of all models is in a good agreement with experiments up to 1% of applied deformation for a laminate [+/- 45](2s) and up to 0.4% for a laminate [+/- 67.5](2s). The effect of voids was assessed only virtually and it is shown that 4% of void content decreases the ply strength by 30%, transversal Young's and shear moduli by around 10% and 8% respectively, whereas longitudinal stiffness is only slightly affected by the presence of voids. This work is the first step towards automatization of the virtual identification of the complete set of damage-plasticity parameters for the LMT-Cachan damage model accounting for the presence of intra-ply voids

    Computerized Neuropsychological Assessment in 6–9 Years-old Children

    The article presents a new computer-based test battery of neuropsychological assessment in 6–9-year-old children. The battery consists of seven tests for assessing executive functions, functions of activation regulation, functions of visual-spatial information and auditory information processing. The following tests are describedin the article: the Dots task, two-colored Schulte–Gorbov tables, Corsi block span test and Understanding of Similar Sounding Words test. The battery is developed in the software platform ‘MSU-Practice’ (http://psychosoft.ru). The system allows researchers to conduct the tests, collect data and analyze them. In addition, it includes cloud service to support the collaboration of different research groups. A total of 21 preschoolers, 52 first-graders and 114 second-graders took part in a pilot study. All three groups of children took the four computer tests and went through a neuropsychological assessment adapted for children between the ages of 5 and 9. The correlation analysis showed consistency between the results of the computertests and the results of the neuropsychological assessments. This allowed us to conclude that the new computer methodology is sufficiently sensible and valid to assess different components of higher mental functions in children.     Content of protein and glycoproteins, their components in the oral fluid in children with chronic gastritis, duodenitis

    In the oral fl uid of children with chronic gastritis, duodenitis there is the increased protein content (up to 7.33±0.43 g/l) against the background of the decreasing level of glycoproteins (up to 0.03±0.01 mg/ml). Coeffi cient of ratio protein / glycoproteins in the oral fl uid is increased by a factor of 9510, which has shown the intensive decay of protein-carbohydrate complexes and the increasing content of the protein fragments. In the composition of glycoproteins there is the reduced amount of hexosamines (up to 0.23±0.01 mmol/l), against the background of the increasing sialic acids (up to 0.16±0.01 mmol/l) and fucose (up to 0.87±0.02 mmol/l). Coeffi cient of ratio of terminal and corpus monosaccharides in the glycoproteins of the oral fl uid in patients with chronic gastritis, duodenitis is increased by a factor of 2.41 and 3.34, as compared to the same values in the control group of children, which signifi cantly modifi es the functional properties of the protein-carbohydrate complexes
