    Structure, optical, electrical and thermoelectric properties of solution-processed Li-doped NiO films grown by SILAR

    The article presents a new facial synthesis of Li-doped NiO films (NiO:Li) via an easy and cost-effective method Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) with the processing of the obtained NiO films in a lithium-containing aqueous solution for their transformation after annealing into NiO:Li layers. Comparative analysis of crystal structure, optical, electrical and thermoelectric properties of the obtained NiO and NiO:Li 420-1050 nm thick films have reveiled a cubic rock-salt NiO structure, at that, NiO:Li samples are nanocrystalline single phased Li-NiO solid solutions. The fabricated NiO and NiO:Li films are p-type semiconductors with activation energy Ea = 0.1 eV and Ea = 0.25‒0.31 eV, respectively. The obtained in-plane Seebeck coefficients Z are in the range 0.20–0.33 mV/К. Notwithstanding the fact that the maximum values of the thermoelectric power factors P=2.2 μW/K2·m, are rather small, they were achieved if the hot end of the NiO:Li film was heated only to 115 °C. Thus, the produced in this work new low cost thermoelectric thin film material is suitable for a production of electrical energy for low-power devices due to absorption of low-potential heat

    Estimation of negative side effects caused by the corrosion preventive compounds

    Представлено вимоги до процедури оцінювання негативних побічних ефектів, спричинених застосуванням антикорозійних сполук або інших поверхнево-активних речовин, які застосовуються в авіації. Показано, що негативний вплив на втому конструкцій літака має бути проаналізований на різних стадіях втоми та на різних масштабних рівнях. Розглянуто три аспекти загальної методології: вплив поверхнево-активних речовин на стадії зародження втомних тріщин, відомий як ефект Ребіндера; вплив поверхнево-активних речовин на швидкість розповсюдження втомних тріщин; зменшення втомної довговічності заклепкових з’єднань як результат зменшення сил тертя між листами обшивки. Показано, що всі ці підходи можуть бути об’єднані в одну загальну методологію сертифікації антикорозійних сполук.Summary The paper presents requirements to procedure of examination of negative side effects caused by the corrosion preventive compounds or any surfactants used in aviation. It is shown that the negative influence on the fatigue of aircraft components should be analyzed on different stages of fatigue and at different scale level. Three aspects of the general methodology are discussed: influence of surfactants on initial stage of fatigue, known as the Rebinder effect, influence of the surfactants on crack propagation, and reduction of fatigue life of riveted joints as result of the reduction of friction between the sheets of skin. It is shown that all three approaches must be combined in one generalized methodology for the certification of corrosion preventive compounds

    Tax on Cryptocurrency as Innovative Financial Instrument in IT Sphere

    The article deals with the content of the tax on cryptocurrency, which is an innovative IT instrument of economic development. It has been established that there was no common understanding of the official status of cryptocurrency given that each state establishes it in the framework of its national legislation independently, and the introduction of taxes is one of the instruments of state influence on the cryptocurrency circulation. It has been found out that the EU member states had only one restriction on the taxation of cryptocurrency, namely cryptocurrency transactions were not liable for VAT. Foreign experience in taxing cryptocurrency transactions is considered in the article. It has been established that Ukraine offered the most optimal tax rate on income from cryptocurrency transactions for individuals and legal entities. At the same time, the significance of the economic effect of the cryptocurrency tax in the form of revenues to the state budget due to the unstable cryptocurrency exchange rate is disproved, which raises the issue of the feasibility of search for new areas of state influence on cryptocurrency

    Insulin receptor substrate 1 gene expression is strongly up-regulated by HSPB8 silencing in U87 glioma cells

    Objective. The aim of the present investigation was to study the expression of genes encoding IRS1 (insulin receptor substrate 1) and some other functionally active proteins in U87 glioma cells under silencing of polyfunctional chaperone HSPB8 for evaluation of the possible significance of this protein in intergenic interactions. Methods. Silencing of HSPB8 mRNA was introduced by HSPB8 specific siRNA. The expression level of HSPB8, IRS1, HK2, GLO1, HOMER3, MYL9, NAMPT, PER2, PERP, GADD45A, and DEK genes was studied in U87 glioma cells by quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Results. It was shown that silencing of HSPB8 mRNA by specific to HSPB8 siRNA led to a strong down-regulation of this mRNA and significant modification of the expression of IRS1 and many other genes in glioma cells: strong up-regulated of HOMER3, GLO1, and PERP and downregulated of MYL9, NAMPT, PER2, GADD45A, and DEK gene expressions. At the same time, no significant changes were detected in the expression of HK2 gene in glioma cells treated by siRNA, specific to HSPB8. Moreover, the silencing of HSPB8 mRNA enhanced the glioma cells proliferation rate. Conclusions. Results of this investigation demonstrated that silencing of HSPB8 mRNA affected the expression of IRS1 gene as well as many other genes encoding tumor growth related proteins. It is possible that the dysregulation of most of the studied genes in glioma cells after silencing of HSPB8 is reflected by a complex of intergenic interactions and that this polyfunctional chaperone is an important factor for the stability of genome function and regulatory mechanisms contributing to the tumorigenesis control

However, responses are often short-lived and rarely induce notable memory responses. The reason is that self-antigens have already been presented to the immune system as the tumor develops, leading to tolerance or some degree of host tumor cell destruction. To try to break tolerance against self-antigens, one of the methods employed has been to modify peptides at the anchor residues to enhance their ability to bind major histocompatibility complex molecules, extending their exposure to the T-cell receptor. These modified or analogue peptides have been investigated as stimulators of the immune system in patients with different cancers with variable but sometimes notable success. In this review we describe the background and recent developments in the use of analogue peptides for the immunotherapy of acute myeloid leukemia describing knowledge useful for the application of analogue peptide treatments for other malignancies

Показано, що мета досягається визначенням організаційно-правових форм діяльності єврорегіонів, укладанням договору про співпрацю, створенням приватних об'єднань транскордонного призначення, а також організацій, наділених правоздатністю. При цьому було проаналізовано фінансові стимули для реалізації програм та проектів за рахунок виділення додаткового фінансування з європейських фондів.The purpose of this scientific work is to identify and analyze the organizational and financial features of the development of Euroregions at the present stage. The comparison method, the graphical method, as well as the method of analysis and synthesis were used to conduct the study. It is shown that the goal is achieved by defining the organizational and legal forms of activity of Euroregions, concluding a cooperation agreement, creating private associations of transboundary purpose, as well as organizations endowed with legal capacity. At the same time, financial incentives for the implementation of programs and projects were analyzed through the allocation of additional funding from European funds.Целью данной научной работы является выявление и анализ организационно-финансовых особенностей развития еврорегионов на современном этапе. Для проведения исследования использовались метод сравнения, графический метод, а также метод анализа и синтеза.     Rectangular Coordination Polymer Nanoplates: Large-Scale, Rapid Synthesis and Their Application as a Fluorescent Sensing Platform for DNA Detection

    In this paper, we report on the large-scale, rapid synthesis of uniform rectangular coordination polymer nanoplates (RCPNs) assembled from Cu(II) and 4,4′-bipyridine for the first time. We further demonstrate that such RCPNs can be used as a very effective fluorescent sensing platform for multiple DNA detection with a detection limit as low as 30 pM and a high selectivity down to single-base mismatch. The DNA detection is accomplished by the following two steps: (1) RCPN binds dye-labeled single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) probe, which brings dye and RCPN into close proximity, leading to fluorescence quenching; (2) Specific hybridization of the probe with its target generates a double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) which detaches from RCPN, leading to fluorescence recovery. It suggests that this sensing system can well discriminate complementary and mismatched DNA sequences. The exact mechanism of fluorescence quenching involved is elucidated experimentally and its use in a human blood serum system is also demonstrated successfully
