How I became what I am : an aesthetics of twist cinema in films from the 1960s and 1970s
Theoretical and experimental analysis of beam-to-column composite connections with bottom na web angle-typical floor and isolatec prototypes
This research presents an extensive experimental study of the structural behavior of the beam-to-column \ud
composite connections with bottom and web angle, including isolated prototypes and typical floor with slab made \ud
of precast joist with lattice and bricks. The objectives were to evaluate concrete slab cracking effects in the \ud
composite connections behavior (initial stiffness and resistant moment), the secondary steel ratio increase and the \ud
proposed details for the longitudinal steel bars anchorage. In the experimental tests, it was analyzed the \ud
connection total rotation, the displacements and deformations in the connection components. The theoretical \ud
study was developed based on EURODODE 3 and 4 methodologies. Besides, a numerical study was developed \ud
with the purpose of including the concrete slab modeling, the longitudinal and transversal steel bars. The \ud
geometrical and material non-linearity it was considerate in the numerical analysis. According to the results, the \ud
beam continuity through to the column minor axis showed to be more important than the concrete slab previous \ud
cracking, for the initial stiffness and resistant moment composite connections behavior in the typical floor. The \ud
numerical models represented satisfactorily the plastic mechanism connection and the ultimate limit state

Collaborative immersive authoring tool for real-time creation of multisensory VR experiences
With the appearance of innovative virtual reality (VR) technologies, the need to create
immersive content arose. Although there are already some non-immersive solutions to address
immersive audio-visual content, there are no solutions that allow the creation of immersive
multisensory content. This work proposes a novel architecture for a collaborative immersive
tool that allows the creation of multisensory VR experiences in real-time, thus promoting the
expeditious development, adoption, and use of immersive systems and enabling the building
of custom-solutions that can be used in an intuitive manner to support organizations’ business
initiatives. To validate the presented proposal, two approaches for the authoring tools (Desktop
interface and Immersive interface) were subjected to a set of tests and evaluations consisting of
a usability study that demonstrated not only the participants’ acceptance of the authoring tool
but also the importance of using immersive interfaces for the creation of such VR experiences.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
The high thermal capacity presented by the underground soil maintains its temperature more constant than the air temperature, varying according to the depth. An earth-heat-exchanger (EHE) takes advantage of this high thermal capacity to obtain more comfortable temperatures, close to the annual average temperature to the region. In this way it's possible to condition buildings as well as in summer or winter seasons. In the present work the objective is to explore the potential of heating and cooling of the soil for a EHE application, considering the classification of the Brazilian territory in bioclimatic zones and describing the influence of depth and soil surface treatment. The cities chosen to represent each zone were: Z01-Curitiba, Z02-Santa Maria, Z03-Belo Horizonte, Z04-Brasília, Z05-Vitória da Conquista, Z06-Campo Grande, Z07-Cuiabá e Z08-Belém. To accomplish the objective two steps were established: first one was the theoretical referential, to support the understanding of physical fenomenos involving this system, and to frame this research in state-of-art about this subject, including technical visits on a church in Curitiba which has a earth-to-air-heat-exchanger (EAHE); on the second step the cooling and heat potential of the underground soil in the bioclimatic zones is calculated. This calculation, made in annual degrees-per-hour, is based in the INMET meteorological data for the eight cities. It is well known that increasing depth makes the soil temperature more constant, the climatization potential is compared 0,5 m and 4,0 m depth, where the thermal behavior through the year varies from one another. After that the influence of different kinds of surface treatment on the subsurface temperature gradient is studied, considering a solar absorption between 0% and 100%. The results point that from the eight bioclimatic zones, Z01 and Z02, which has a high heating demand, presented a significative contribution from the soil, while Z06, Z07 e Z08, which has a high amount of cooling demand, in annual degrees-per-hour, obtained a good response from the underground too. We concluded as well that the surface treatment has a huge influence on the EHE thermal performance, even on 4,0 m depth and including for heating and cooling. The contribution of this research, besides the discussion of the results itself, has the intention of wakening for researches in this field on another regions of the country, where any scientific discussion was found, especially in hot climate locations, where results demonstrated a significative performance. O DIP e o terrorismo internacional.
ABSTRACT:
With this paper we seek to understand the impact of the CSDP as an instrument for
stability and international peace and we will test it through a case study with the
EUTM CAR -
For this, we will roughly divide the dissertation into three parts: a first interpretative
part on the power of the EU that will provide us with a theoretical basis for
understanding and deepening the CSDP; a second empirical part with a case study
that will allow us to assess the action of the EU (EUTM CAR); finally, we dedicate
ourselves to sharing the conclusions in which we will present potentials and limits in
action.
Thus, we start from an internal vision, of the instruments, organs and actors existing
within the EU, and then move on to the EU action itself on the international scene,
seeking to answer our starting questions: What is the relevance and objectives of
the EU as a humanist actor in the world? How EUTM's contribute to the EU's
external action
