The first aerobiological survey of Diamante atmosphere (Entre Ríos, Argentina) was performed. We present here the preliminary results of one year analysis whose main objective was to determine the diversity of local and regional vegetation and the dynamics of floral phenology. Pollen data were obtained with a continuous, and volumetric methodology using a Hirst type sampler (Lanzoni), which allows the aerobiologic comparison with any site around the world, besides of its direct application in allergological medicine. The most abundant pollen types in the air in decreassing order of importance were: Moraceae (with 60% of the annual total pollen, ATP), Poaceae, Cupressaceae, Fraxinus, Salix, Asteraceae Asteroideae, Celtis, Ambrosia, Artemisia, Urticaceae and Cyperaceae. Each one of these taxa reached at least 2% of the ATP. If Moraceae is not considering, all the above taxa including Platanus account for 76% of ATP. Relationship between pollen and temperature was positive, and between pollen and humidity was negative. It is discussed if it exists differential representativity of the native species (regional) in relation to exotics ones (local) in the pollen spectrum, and the possibility of transport from medium or long distances.Fil: Latorre, Fabiana. On uniqueness and instability for some thermomechanical problems involving the Moore– Gibson–Thompson equation

It is known that in the case that several constitutive tensors fail to be positive definite the system of the ther- moelasticity could become unstable and, in certain cases, ill-posed in the sense of Hadamard. In this paper, we consider the Moore–Gibson–Thompson thermoelasticity in the case that some of the constitutive tensors fail to be positive and we will prove basic results concerning uniqueness and instability of solutions. We first consider the case of the heat conduction when dissipation condition holds, but some constitutive tensors can fail to be positive. In this case, we prove the uniqueness and instability by means of the logarithmic convexity argument. Second we study the thermoelastic system only assuming that the thermal conductivity tensor and the mass density are positive and we obtain the uniqueness of solutions by means of the Lagrange identities method. By the logarithmic convexity argument we prove later the instability of solutions whenever the elasticity tensor fails to be positive, but assuming that the conductivity rate is positive and the thermal dissipation condition hold. We also sketch similar results when conductivity rate and/or the thermal conductivity fail to be positive definite, but the elasticity tensor is positive definite and the dissipation condition holds. Last sections are devoted to considering the case when a third-order equation is proposed for the displacement (which comes from the viscoelasticiy). A similar study is sketched in these cases.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

Continuous dependence and convergence for Moore–Gibson–Thompson heat equation

In this paper, we investigate how the solutions vary when the relaxation parameter, the conductivity rate parameter, or the thermal conductivity parameter change in the case of the Moore-Gibson-Thompson heat equation. In fact, we prove that they can be controlled by a term depending upon the square of the variation of the parameter. These results concern the structural stability of the problem. We also compare the solutions of the MGT equation with the Maxwell-Cattaneo heat conduction equation and the type III heat equation (limit cases for the first two previous parameters) and we show how the difference between the solutions can be controlled by a term depending on the square of the limit parameter. This result gives a measure of the convergence between the solutions for the different theoriesPeer ReviewedPostprint (published version

On elliptic equations involving the 1-Laplacian operator

This PhD thesis is devoted to the study of the existence, uniqueness and regularity of solutions of some elliptic equations involving the 1-Laplacian operator. In Chapter 1 we focus on the study of the equation - div (Du/|Du|) + g(u) |Du| = f(x) in a bounded open set U in R^N with Lipschitz boundary with the Dirichlet condition u=0 on the boundary, where the datum f denotes a nonnegative function and g is a nonnegative continuous real function. On the one hand, we deal with unbounded solutions when datum f belongs to the Marcinkiewicz space L^{N,\infty}(U), so we have to introduce the suitable concept of this kind of solutions. On the other hand, we show different results concerning existence, uniqueness or regularity of the solutions depending on the properties of function g. Chapter 2 is devoted to study the previous equation when we take a constant function g equal to 1 and nonnegative data f in the Lebesgue space L^1(U). We prove an existence result and a comparison principle. Moreover, we seek the optimal summability of the solution when L^q-data, with 1<q<N, are considered. Finally, in Chapter 3 we deal with an evolution problem. If L is a positive parameter, we study equation L u - div(Du/|Du|) = 0 with dynamical boundary conditions. Applying nonlinear semigroup theory we obtain a mild solution to the problem and we prove that this is, in fact, a strong solution. We also prove a comparison principle and a result which shows that the distance between the solutions depends on the distance between the data

Opportunities to learn for children with autism spectrum disorders: effects of the perceived efficacy of teacher practices and drivers of inclusion

    Get PDF
One of the factors linked to the successful inclusion of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is the idea that the attitudes of teaching professionals are related to the perceived efficacy of educational practices. The aim of this study was to explore the relationships between the perceived efficacy of a set of practices specifically aimed at children with ASD and the perceived drivers and attitudes toward their full inclusion. We estimated a structural equation model that included socioprofessional variables of the 454 teachers taking part in the study. The results show that greater efficacy of the practices implemented with children with ASD results in more positive attitudes toward the education of these children in inclusive settings. Similarly, drivers of inclusion also improve teachers’ attitudes toward these children. The findings suggest the need to improve teacher training and provide teachers with the resources necessary to adapt their practices to all children

Exploring teachers’ perceptions of effective inclusive practices with students with ASD: a structural equation modelling approach

The role of teachers is considered one of the most decisive factors in the success or failure of a child with Special Educational Needs being taught and learning alongside their peers in mainstream settings. The objective of this study is to analyse the perceived efficacy of inclusive practices in achieving quality educational inclusion, and the intensity with which they are implemented in mainstream schooling contexts. The aim is also to study whether there is a positive effect of this perceived efficacy in achieving quality inclusion on pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Similarly, it is analysed whether there is a mediating effect in this relationship of the variable related to the intensity of use (understood as the degree of use that teachers make of inclusive practices). To this end, 454 teachers from the Spanish education system completed an online questionnaire. Use of structural equation modelling reveals that the efficacy teachers perceive of the inclusive practices has positive effects on achieving the inclusion of these pupils. We found a mediating effect of the intensity with which the practices are implemented on this achievement of inclusion. The implications of these results are discussed with a view to introducing improvements in prior teacher-training programme to empower and improve the confidence teachers have in their inclusive practices
