    Combining Heuristics in Assembly Sequence Planning

    Assembly Sequence Planning is tackled by modelling and solving a planning problem that considers the execution of the plan in a system with multiple assembly machines. The objective of the plan is the minimization of the total assembly time (makespan). To meet this objective, the model takes into account the durations and resources for the assembly tasks, the change of configuration in the machines, and the transportation of intermediate subassemblies between different workstations. In order to solve the problem, different heuristics has been defined from two relaxed model of it, one considering only the precedence constraints among tasks, and the other one considering only the use of shared resources. From these basic heuristics, other ones have been defined, combining both types of information from the problem, so that the refinement produces substantial improvements over the initial heuristics.Ministerio de Ciencia y TecnologíaDPI2003-07146-C02-0

    Phenomenological interpolation of the inclusive J/psi cross section to proton-proton collisions at 2.76 TeV and 5.5 TeV

    We present a study of the inclusive J/psi cross section at 2.76 TeV and 5.5 TeV. The energy dependence of the cross section, rapidity and transverse momentum distributions are evaluated phenomenologically. Their knowledge is crucial as a reference for the interpretation of A-A and p-A J/psi results at the LHC. Our approach is the following: first, we estimate the energy evolution of the pt-integrated J/psi cross section at mid-rapidity; then, we evaluate the rapidity dependence; finally, we study the transverse momentum distribution trend. Whenever possible, both theory driven (based on pQCD predictions) and functional form (data driven fits) calculations are discussed.     Reliability and validity of the Severe Impairment Battery, short form (SIB-s), in patients with dementia in Spain

    Las personas con demencia progresiva evolucionan hacia un estado donde los tests neuropsicológicos tradicionales dejan de ser eficaces. La batería de evaluación del deterioro grave, en su forma completa (SIB) y abreviada (SIB-s), se desarrolló para evaluar el estado cognitivo de pacientes con demencia avanzada. Objetivo. Evaluar los atributos psicométricos de la SIB-s en población española. Pacientes y métodos. Estudio transversal de 127 pacientes con demencia (86,6%, mujeres; edad media: 82,6 ± 7,5 años) evaluados con la SIB-s y las siguientes medidas: escala de deterioro global, miniexamen cognitivo (MEC), miniexamen del estado mental grave (sMMSE), índice de Barthel y escala del estado funcional. Resultados. La puntuación media total de la SIB-s fue de 19,1 ± 15,34 (rango: 0-48). Efectos suelo y techo < 20%. El análisis factorial identificó un único factor que explica el 68% de la varianza total de la escala. La consistencia interna fue alta (α de Cronbach: 0,96). La correlación ítem-total corregida osciló entre 0,27 y 0,83, y la homogeneidad de los ítems fue de 0,43. La fiabilidad test-retest e interevaluador fue satisfactoria (coeficiente de correlación intraclase: 0,96 y 0,95, respectivamente), así como la validez de constructo convergente con otras medidas cognitivas (MEC: 0,83; sMMSE: 0,9). La SIB-s mostró una correlación moderada con escalas cognitivas de dependencia funcional (índice de Barthel: 0,48; FAST: –0,74). El error estándar de la medida fue de 3,07 para el total de la escala. Conclusiones. La SIB-s es un instrumento fiable y válido, relativamente breve, para evaluar a pacientes con demencia avanzada en la población española.People with progressive dementia evolve into a state where traditional neuropsychological tests are not effective. To evaluate the psychometric attributes of the SIB-s in patients with severe dementia. Patients and methods. 127 institutionalized patients (female: 86.6%; mean age: 82.6 ± 7.5 years-old) with dementia were assessed with the SIB-s, the Global Deterioration Scale (GDS), Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Severe MiniMental State Examination (sMMSE), Barthel Index and FAST. Results. SIB-s acceptability, reliability, validity and precision were analyzed. The mean total score for scale was 19.1 ± 15.34 (range: 0-48). Floor effect was 18.1%, only marginally higher than the desirable 15%. Factor analysis identified a single factor explaining 68% of the total variance of the scale. Cronbach’s α coefficient was 0.96 and the item-total corrected correlation ranged from 0.27 to 0.83. The item homogeneity value was 0.43. Test-retest and inter-rater reliability for the total score was satisfactory (ICC: 0.96 and 0.95, respectively). The SIB-s showed moderate correlation with functional dependency scales (Barthel Index: 0.48, FAST: –0.74). Standard error of measurement was 3.07 for the total score. Conclusions. The SIB-s is a reliable and valid instrument for evaluating patients with severe dementia in the Spanish population of relatively brief instruments

    Relationship between cold executive functions and self-regulated learning management in college students

    The aim of this research was to analyze the relationship between cold executive functions (cEFs), and self-regulated learning management (SRLM) in college students. There is a positive and a statistically significant relationship between cold executive functions (cEFs) and self-regulated learning management (SRLM). This research is a quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive, and inferential study, with a correlational approach. The sample was non-probabilistic, by convenience sampling, composed of n = 379 college students belonging to pedagogy careers, 64.1% were males, and 35.9% females, aged between 17 and 34 years old (M = 19.82, SD = 2.41). The results show that there is a strong association between cold executive functions and self-regulated learning management since high performance in cEFs would imply a high performance on learning management. On the other hand, it is also observed a predictive value of planning cEF on SRLM, meaning that, an optimal level of planning would imply adequate management of learning processes. The original contribution of this study is to provide evidence to consider supporting plans for college students to improve their skills in the cEFs, due to the negative impact that failure in higher education represents for the student, their families, and university system. Finally, we think it is necessary to continue the research in depth of these variables, and their influence in higher education academic performance.Relación entre las funciones ejecutivas frías y el aprendizaje autorregulado en estudiantes universitarios El propósito de esta investigación fue analizar la relación entre las funciones ejecutivas frías (FEf) y la gestión del aprendizaje autorregulado (GAAR) en universitarios, siguiendo la hipótesis de que existe una relación positiva y significativa entre ambas variables. El estudio fue de tipo cuantitativo de corte transversal, con enfoque correlacional, descriptivo e inferencial. La muestra fue de tipo no probabilística incidental, compuesta por n = 379 estudiantes universitarios de carreras de pedagogía, el 64,1% eran hombres y el 35,9% mujeres, de edades entre 17 y 34 años (M = 19,82, SD = 2,41). Los resultados muestran que existe una asociación fuerte entre funciones ejecutivas frías y gestión del aprendizaje autorregulado, dado que un alto rendimiento en FEf implicaría un alto rendimiento en Gestión del Aprendizaje. También se observa un valor predictor de la FEf de planificación sobre la GAAR, es decir, que un buen nivel de planificación implicaría una adecuada gestión de los procesos de aprendizaje. El aporte original de este estudio es presentar evidencias para que en los planes de apoyo a estudiantes universitarios se consideren estrategias que mejoren sus habilidades en las FEf detectadas, dado el impacto negativo que el fracaso en la educación superior tiene para el estudiante, sus familias y el sistema universitario. Finalmente, creemos que es necesario seguir profundizando en estas variables y en su influencia sobre el desempeño académico en la educación superior

    Color conductivity and ladder summation in hot QCD

    The color conductivity is computed at leading logarithmic order using a Kubo formula. We show how to sum an infinite series of planar ladder diagrams, assuming some approximations based on the dominance of soft scattering processes between hard particles in the plasma.     POS1247 CLINICAL FEATURES AND OUTCOMES OF COVID-19 IN PATIENTS WITH IGG4-RELATED DISEASE. A COLLABORATIVE EUROPEAN MULTI-CENTRE STUDY

    Background:Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a pandemic-spread systemic infectious disease with prominent respiratory manifestations and significant associated morbidity and mortality. Elderly people are most significantly affected with mortality ranging from 2.4% (age 60-69) to 19.6% (age>80) in European Countries. The prevalence of COVID-19 and of its complications in patients with immune-mediated disorders, remains unclear. The frequency and impact of COVID-19 on patients with IgG4-related diease (IgG4-RD), many of whom are on concurrent immunosuppression has not been addressed.Objectives:To assess the epidemiological and clinical relevance of COVID-19 in patients with IgG4-RD.Methods:This is a multi-centre retrospective observational study of IgG4-RD patients from France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. Demographics, comorbidities, IgG4-RD features, current and past treatment along with COVID-19-suggestive symptoms and COVID-19 diagnoses from February 2020 to January 2021 were recorded by means of direct or phone interviews. Patients with reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction-confirmed (cCOVID) or presumed COVID-19 based on clinical, serological or imaging features (pCOVID) were pooled for analysis (totCOVID) and compared to patients who were not diagnosed with COVID-19. Inter-group comparison of categorical and quantitative variables were performed by using the chi-square test with Fisher's correction and the Mann-Whitney's test respectively. Data are expressed as median (interquartile range) unless otherwise specified.Results:A total of 305 patients [71% males, median age 64 (54-74) years] were studied. Pancreato-biliary disease was the most frequently observed IgG4-RD phenotype (39%). Fifty-one percent of patients were taking corticosteroids at time of interview and 30% were on biological or conventional immunosuppressants. Thirty-two totCOVID cases (23 cCOVID, nine pCOVID) were identified: 11/32 were hospitalised, two needed intensive care and four (13%; 3/4 aged >80 years) died. Having one or more infected family members was a risk factor for COVID-19 in patients with IgG4-RD (OR=19.9; p20mg) or rituximab administration.Conclusion:The prevalence and course of COVID-19 in IgG4-RD patients are similar to those of the general population of the same age, with no evident impact of disease- or treatment-related factors to the basal infectious risk.     Transport coefficients from the 2PI effective action

    We show that the lowest nontrivial truncation of the two-particle irreducible (2PI) effective action correctly determines transport coefficients in a weak coupling or 1/N expansion at leading (logarithmic) order in several relativistic field theories. In particular, we consider a single real scalar field with cubic and quartic interactions in the loop expansion, the O(N) model in the 2PI-1/N expansion, and QED with a single and many fermion fields. Therefore, these truncations will provide a correct description, to leading (logarithmic) order, of the long time behavior of these systems, i.e. the approach to equilibrium. This supports the promising results obtained for the dynamics of quantum fields out of equilibrium using 2PI effective action techniques.Comment: 5 pages, explanation in introduction expanded, summary added; to appear in PR

    Development of an activity disease score in patients with uveitis (UVEDAI)

    To develop a disease activity index for patients with uveitis (UVEDAI) encompassing the relevant domains of disease activity considered important among experts in this field. The steps for designing UVEDAI were: (a) Defining the construct and establishing the domains through a formal judgment of experts, (b) A two-round Delphi study with a panel of 15 experts to determine the relevant items, (c) Selection of items: A logistic regression model was developed that set ocular inflammatory activity as the dependent variable. The construct "uveitis inflammatory activity" was defined as any intraocular inflammation that included external structures (cornea) in addition to uvea. Seven domains and 15 items were identified: best-corrected visual acuity, inflammation of the anterior chamber (anterior chamber cells, hypopyon, the presence of fibrin, active posterior keratic precipitates and iris nodules), intraocular pressure, inflammation of the vitreous cavity (vitreous haze, snowballs and snowbanks), central macular edema, inflammation of the posterior pole (the presence and number of choroidal/retinal lesions, vascular inflammation and papillitis), and global assessment from both (patient and physician). From all the variables studied in the multivariate model, anterior chamber cell grade, vitreous haze, central macular edema, inflammatory vessel sheathing, papillitis, choroidal/retinal lesions and patient evaluation were included in UVEDAI. UVEDAI is an index designed to assess the global ocular inflammatory activity in patients with uveitis. It might prove worthwhile to motorize the activity of this extraarticular manifestation of some rheumatic diseases
