InAs/InP single quantum wire formation and emission at 1.5 microns

    Get PDF
Isolated InAs/InP self-assembled quantum wires have been grown using in situ accumulated stress measurements to adjust the optimal InAs thickness. Atomic force microscopy imaging shows highly asymmetric nanostructures with average length exceeding more than ten times their width. High resolution optical investigation of as-grown samples reveals strong photoluminescence from individual quantum wires at 1.5 microns. Additional sharp features are related to monolayer fluctuations of the two dimensional InAs layer present during the early stages of the quantum wire self-assembling process.Comment: 4 pages and 3 figures submitted to Applied Physics Letter

Charge control in laterally coupled double quantum dots

We investigate the electronic and optical properties of InAs double quantum dots grown on GaAs (001) and laterally aligned along the [110] crystal direction. The emission spectrum has been investigated as a function of a lateral electric field applied along the quantum dot pair mutual axis. The number of confined electrons can be controlled with the external bias leading to sharp energy shifts which we use to identify the emission from neutral and charged exciton complexes. Quantum tunnelling of these electrons is proposed to explain the reversed ordering of the trion emission lines as compared to that of excitons in our system.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures submitted to PRB Rapid Com

Spectropolarimetric analysis of an active region filament. I. Magnetic and dynamical properties from single component inversions

The determination of the magnetic filed vector in solar filaments is possible by interpreting the Hanle and Zeeman effects in suitable chromospheric spectral lines like those of the He I multiplet at 10830 A. We study the vector magnetic field of an active region filament (NOAA 12087). Spectropolarimetric data of this active region was acquired with the GRIS instrument at the GREGOR telescope and studied simultaneously in the chromosphere with the He I 10830 A multiplet and in the photosphere with the Si I 10827 A line. As it is usual from previous studies, only a single component model is used to infer the magnetic properties of the filament. The results are put into a solar context with the help of the Solar Dynamic Observatory images. Some results clearly point out that a more complex inversion had to be done. Firstly, the Stokes VV map of He I does not show any clear signature of the presence of the filament. Secondly, the local azimuth map follows the same pattern than Stokes VV as if the polarity of Stokes VV were conditioning the inference to very different magnetic field even with similar linear polarization signals. This indication suggests that the Stokes VV could be dominated by the below magnetic field coming from the active region, and not, from the filament itself. Those and more evidences will be analyzed in depth and a more complex inversion will be attempted in the second part of this series.Comment: 18 pages, 19 figures, accepted for publication in A&

Therese of Lisieux has felt God’s merciful love inside in just the same way Christ did. She reached this love through the meditation of her Mysteries and Euchatistic celebrations. This intense experience of love, which is again God reflected on Jesuschrist, has healed and refreshed Teresa in human and spiritual ways. Thus encouraging her to live charity just like Jesus did, going through countless difficulties in life, particularly those within his religious community. Therefore, it is due to her mystical experience that we can consider her proficient all the knowledge concerning the love of God on us

    Get PDF
The comedy of ms. 17.317 from BNE has been attributed to various theater authors of the Spanish Golden Age. It has also been called in different ways throughout its publishing history. In this manuscript is named El negro del Serafín and attributed to Luis Vélez de Guevara. The most famous and repeated transmission is included in Parte Cuarta of Nuevas Escogidas. In this volume is attributed to Mira de Amescua and is titled El negro del mejor amo. This article discusses the censorship of the manuscript to establish relations between the two testimonies
