    La ficció televisiva de TV3 i la identitat cultural catalana : estudi de cas de la sitcom Plats Bruts

    La majoria de les recerques que s'han dut a terme sobre l'àmbit televisiu s'han dedicat a fer descripcions parcel·lades del mitjà. D'aquesta manera coneixem les rutines productives, l'estructura empresarial de les cadenes, el disseny de la programació, els resultats d'anàlisis qualitatives i quantitatives dels discursos i, en menor grau, trobem estudis sobre el consum televisiu. Aquesta divisió temàtica dels estudis, possiblement deguda a la complexitat de l'entorn televisiu, fa que comptem amb poques visions de conjunt sobre aquest mitjà. És a dir, és difícil obtenir, d'un mateix estudi, resultats que tinguin en compte els diversos processos en els quals intervé la televisió. D'altra banda, la producció cientificoacadèmica s'ha encarregat de descriure l'enginyeria i registrar les tècniques i els processos de les diverses estructures dels media, però les pistes cap a un coneixement de la recepció relacionada amb el camp de la producció i amb la cultura encara són poc intel·ligibles. Tot això constitueix el punt de partida de la tesi doctoral que ha dut a terme l'autora d'aquest article, que ens presenta una part dels seus resultats.Most research on television has focused on compartmented descriptions of the medium. So we learn about production routines, the channels' business structures, programming design, the results of qualitative and quantitative discourse analyses, and even find a few studies on television consumption. This division of studies into subjects, possibly due to the complexity of the television environment, means that we have few visions of the medium as a whole. In other words, it is hard to find results in the same study that take into account the diverse processes in which television is involved. Conversely, while scientific-academic production has described the engineering and recorded the techniques and processes of the media's different structures, little intelligible light has been shed on reception related to the production field and to culture. This is the starting point of the doctoral thesis produced by the author of this article, which presents some of its results

    La contribución del humor, de la comedia de situación a la identidad cultural catalana

    En este artículo exponemos los resultados de un estudio sobre la recepción del humor de una comedia de situación de producción catalana. Con este trabajo, intentamos entender cuáles son las representaciones sociales y culturales que la audiencia reconoce en el humor como propias y cercanas a su contexto y cuáles rechaza. Dicho conocimiento nos permite identificar las filias y fobias que los sujetos expresan sobre el humor de una comedia. La metodología que nos permite realizar este análisis es la cualitativa. Este artículo revalida la idea de que el humor está determinado por categorías sociales y culturales. En este sentido, destacamos el papel fundamental del humor como un dispositivo que genera, dinamiza, refuerza, patrones de identificación y/o rechazo. El humor sirve para crear lazos tanto de cercanía como de lejanía y se convierte en una especie de gestor cultural que genera propuestas de sentido. Nuestro objetivo final es animar al diseño de investigaciones, dentro del ámbito comunicacional español, que tengan como objeto de estudio el consumo, uso y apropiación del humor en los contenidosIn this article, we intend to set out the results of a study on how humour is received in a locally produced situation comedy. Through this work, we have been trying to understand what social and cultural representations would be recognised by the audience in the show as accurate reflections of themselves and their cultural and social context, as well as which they would reject. In order to carry out this analysis we have used qualitative methodology; intending, through discussion groups, to understand the consumption of humour in a sitcom produced by a television station serving the autonomous region of Catalonia. This article ratifies the idea that humour is determined socially and culturally; knowledge which allows us to identify the philias and phobias which the subjects expressed with regards to humour in sitcoms. We outline the fundamental role that humour plays as a device that generates, invigorates, reinforces and/or discards elements associated with identity. Humour is used to create social connections as well as social divisions, becoming a kind of cultural mediator that generates suggestions for meaning. Our final aim is to encourage further research, within the communications area, which would have as its object the consumption, use and appropriation of the humour present in media content

    This article presents the results of research into the perceptions and attitudes of women with regard to gender representations in advertising discourse. This study is part of a research project begun in 2005 on the subject of the consumption of the image of women in advertising and the media carried out by the Catalan Institute of Women (ICD) of the Catalan regional government, the Generalitat. From a qualitative perspective, results are obtained about the significance that women assign to gender representations. The recipients' evaluation and conceptualization of advertising and sexism demonstrate that a number of stereotypes that continue to exist in the media are distant from social reality

    L'article presenta els resultats de la recerca de les percepcions i actituds de les dones davant representacions del gènere al discurs publicitari. Aquest estudi forma part de la investigació iniciada l'any 2005 sobre el consum de la imatge de les dones a la publicitat i als mitjans de comunicació. Des d'una perspectiva qualitativa, s'obtenen resultats del significat que les dones atorguen a les representacions de gènere. La valoració i la conceptualització de les receptores de la publicitat i el sexisme mostren diversos estereotips que es perpetuen en els mitjans i que es distancien de la realitat social mateixa.This article presents the results of a study on women's perceptions and attitudes regarding gender representation in advertising discourse. The study was part of a research project begun in 2005 on the consumption of the woman's image in publicity and the mass media. From a qualitative perspective, the results provided insight on the meaning women give to gender representations.     Estudo Bibliométrico Sobre Jornalismo de Qualidade na Base de Dados Scopus: Evolução do Tema e Características

    Este artigo pretende descrever a evolução da produção acadêmica sobre o binômio jornalismo e qualidade, a partir do estudo bibliométrico e análise de conteúdo da base de dados Scopus, através de busca do termo. Para tal, são apresentadas análises automatizadas do sistema Scopus e mapas das redes sobre os termos dos artigos, através da ferramenta VOSviewer. O objetivo é descrever as características da produção científica e o impacto da pesquisa no campo de estudo do jornalismo de qualidade e identificar tendências neste campo de pesquisa. A amostra do estudo é composta por 971 artigos de pesquisa publicados entre os anos de 1939 e 2022 e indexados na Scopus, levados em consideração apenas artigos de pesquisa publicados na área de ciências sociais em qualquer idioma.Os resultados indicam que o interesse sobre a qualidade do jornalismo cresce nas revistas científicas analisadas a partir do século XXI e com predominância de países ocidentais, apesar da tendência de crescimento nos países orientais. Os Estados Unidos são a origem do maior número de artigos, de citações e de primeiros autores; as três revistas que mais publicam sobre qualidade do jornalismo também são anglo-saxônicas. Há desenvolvimento de clusters de investigações sobre o objeto de estudo fora desse eixo, capitaneados pela produção científica espanhola e portuguesa. A análise bibliométrica também mostra a evolução dos temas relacionados com a qualidade do jornalismo.This article uses a term search to describe how academic work on the relationship between journalism and quality has evolved. It relies on a bibliometric study and content analysis of the Scopus database. Using the VOSviewer tool, this article presents automated analyses of the Scopus system and network maps that pertain to article terms. The goal is to outline scientific production’s features and the impact of research on quality journalism identifying emerging trends in this research area. The study sample consists of 971 research articles published between 1939 and 2022, specifically focusing on social sciences articles across various languages, indexed in Scopus.The findings suggest a rising interest in journalism quality within analysed scientific journals, especially in the 21st century, predominantly in Western countries, despite a growing trend in Eastern countries. The United States is the primary source for articles, citations, and first authors. Additionally, the three journals publishing most on journalism quality are of Anglo-Saxon origin. Research clusters are developed on the object of study outside this axis, led by Spanish and Portuguese scientific production. The bibliometric analysis also shows the evolution of topics related to journalism quality

    Organización laboral y perfiles profesionales de los nuevos medios digitales españoles creados por periodistas en tiempos de crisis

    La transformación digital de la prensa española se ha desarrollado en paralelo a una profunda crisis económica y propiciando el principio de nuevas formas de hacer periodismo y redefiniendo los perfiles profesionales. El cierre de 375 medios españoles desde el inicio de la crisis económica en 2008 ha favoreciendo la creación de medios digitales creados y/o dirigidos por los propios periodistas. En este estudio se han analizado 298 nuevos medios digitales para conocer si existen cambios estructurales respecto a los medios tradicionales y saber si incluyen nuevos roles profesionales adaptados a las posibilidades que ofrece internet. Los resultados indican que la mayoría de los nuevos medios han optado por una organización piramidal reflejando las dinámicas de los medios tradicionales y no incluyen perfiles profesionales acordes a su naturaleza digital. No obstante, nuestros resultados no indican que estas funciones no se realicen sino que quizá son realizadas por los mismos redactores.The digital transformation of the Spanish press has developed in parallel to a deep economic crisis leading to new ways of practicing journalism and redefining the professional profiles. The closure of 375 Spanish media since the beginning of the economic crisis in 2008 has favoured the creation of digital media created and/or directed by the journalists themselves. In this study, 298 new digital media have been analysed to know if there are structural changes with respect to traditional media and whether they include new professional roles adapted to the possibilities offered by digitalization. The results indicate that most of the new media have opted for a pyramid organization reflecting the dynamics of traditional media and do not include professional profiles according to their digital nature. However, our results do not indicate that these functions are not performed, but perhaps the journalists with a traditional profile carry them out

    Características de los periodistas online españoles : consolidación de una profesión en un contexto de crisis económica

    Introducción. La crisis del sector periodístico español ha cambiado el ecosistema de los medios españoles con la aparición de nuevos medios independientes online creados en su mayoría por los propios periodistas. Metodología. A través de una metodología cuantitativa y cualitativa esta investigación analiza los perfiles profesionales del colectivo de periodistas que trabajan en los nuevos medios digitales españoles. Se realizó una encuesta a periodistas que trabajan en 301 medios distintos y 6 entrevistas semiestructuradas. Resultados. Los resultados indican que el periodista digital es polivalente y no hay diferencias significativas entre las actividades que realizan los periodistas de diferentes edades. No obstante, los hombres dan más prioridad a las actividades tecnológicas que las mujeres. Discusión y conclusiones. La precariedad del sector periodístico dificulta la explotación de características potenciales de los medios digitales y la inestabilidad laboral no permite desarrollar en condiciones su presencia online.Introduction. The crisis of the Spanish newspaper industry has transformed the media ecosystem in Spain and has led to the emergence of new independent online news media, which have been mostly launched by journalists themselves. Methods. A mixed methods approach has been used to analyse the professional profiles of journalists working in the new Spanish digital news media outlets. The research involved a survey questionnaire applied to a sample of journalists working in 301 different media outlets and six semi-structured interviews. Results. The digital journalist is versatile and multi-skilled and there are no significant differences between the activities carried out by journalists across age groups. However, male journalists give more importance to technological tasks than their female counterparts do. Conclusions. This study shows that the precariousness of the Spanish journalistic sector makes it difficult to exploit the potential that digital media afford, while job insecurity does not allow journalists to develop their online presence

    La crisi del consum radiofònic juvenil a Catalunya

    Des de fa aproximadament una dècada, la ràdio convencional catalana i espanyola ha detectat una pèrdua progressiva de penetració del mitjà entre els segments més joves de la població. Aquest fenomen afecta la majoria dels països desenvolupats i està relacionat fortament amb el desenvolupament de les TIC i les xarxes de comunicació. L'objectiu d'aquest article és aprofundir en les causes d'aquesta crisi a partir de l'estudi de la recepció radiofònica dels joves de 14 a 24 anys residents a Catalunya.For approximately a decade, traditional Catalan and Spanish radio has been noting a gradual loss of radio penetration among the population's younger segments. This phenomenon, which is affecting most developed countries, is closely related to the development of ICTs and communication networks.     El tratamiento del VIH/sida en la prensa española

    This article presents the results of a research project conducted between 2005 and 2008 by the Center for Communication and Health (InCom-UAB) and commissioned by Red2002 [2] with the aim of analyzing the treatment of the HIV/AIDS in the Spanish newspapers. The research project involves content analysis. Its results show that the media’s agenda is marked by events and that, over time, not only do they write less about HIV/AIDS, but they also explain and contextualize less. On the other hand, however, they do not establish such a strong relationship between HIV / AIDS and death and make more use of the NGOs as sources. Key words: HIV/AIDS, information, press.Este artículo pretende ofrecer los resultados de una investigación realizada entre los años 2005 y 2008 por el Observatorio de Comunicación y Salud (InCom-UAB) por encargo de Red2002 [2] con el objetivo de conocer el tratamiento que hacen los diarios españoles del VIH/sida. La investigación se inscribe en el análisis de contenidos. Los resultados nos muestran que la agenda de los medios está marcada por los acontecimientos y que, con el tiempo, no sólo se escribe menos sobre VIH/sida sino que también se explica, se contextualiza menos, aunque, por otro lado, la relación que establecen esos medios entre VIH/sida y muerte sea menor y usen con mayor profusión a las ONGs como fuentes.     Material docent interactiu elaborat amb Camtasia Studio : l'exemple dels estudis de comunicació de la UAB

    La comunicació exposa els resultats de la primera fase d'un projecte que els autors estan duent a terme a la Facultat de Ciències de la Comunicació de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. La recerca, de naturalesa exploratòria, comença amb el disseny i elaboració d'un exemple de material digital de suport a la docència amb el programa informàtic Camtasia Studio, que és sotmès a testeig per part d'una mostra de docents i discents d'aquests estudis. Aquesta primera fase és la que amb detall s'explica en aquesta comunicació. El projecte global, que seguirà desenvolupant-se a partir dels primers resultats obtinguts, vol dissenyar i elaborar un protocol d'actuació d'ús de les TIC (Tecnologies de la Informació i la Comunicació) aplicades a la docència. Es tracta d'un protocol d'ús transdisciplinar (ha de resultar útil per a qualsevol docent) i multiplataforma que ha de permetre que cada professor elabori el material docent multimèdia de suport (de reforç, autoaprenentatge, avaluació, etc.), que inclourà tant la guia tecnològica com la pedagògica fonamentals. Igualment, no es descarta la possibilitat de crear un repositori d'aquest tipus de material de suport.This paper shows the results of an early-stage project which authors are currently carrying out at the Faculty of Communication Sciences (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona). This exploratory research starts with the design and production of a digital content sample made with Camtasia Studio software for supporting learning process. The content has been tested by a group of teachers and a group of students. The global project is expected to design and produce an ICT application protocol to be applied to learning process. It would be a transdisciplinary and multiplattform application protocol which should allow any teacher to produce his/her own multimedia learning content. The application protocol should include both basic technological and pedagogical guidelines. Authors are also considering the possibility to create a virtual store of this kind of content
