Memórias da Infância e da Educação: abordagens eliasianas sobre as mulheres
Relações sociais entre indivíduos estão pautadas pela experiência de educação e formação que cada um traz consigo ao longo da vida, pelo modo como se constituem individual e coletivamente. A partir de Elias e da metodologia da história oral, o objetivo foi buscar nas memórias de infância de sete mulheres, professoras de crianças, nascidas entre 1950 e 1970, a formação e a educação que se constituiu na infância em espaços privados e domésticos. Apreendeu-se que a escolha profissional tem vínculos com a educação feminina, normatizada por regras de controle e civilidade
Susceptibility of Echinochloa populations to cyhalofop-butyl in Southern region of Brazil and impact of the weed phenology on its efficacy of control
Understanding global changes of the liver proteome during murine schistosomiasis using a label-free shotgun approach.
Schistosomiasis is an endemic disease affecting over 207million people worldwide caused by helminth parasites
of the genus Schistosoma. In Brazil the disease is responsible for the loss of up to 800 lives annually, resulting from
the desabilitating effects of this chronic condition. In this study, we infected Balb/c mice with Schistosoma
mansoni and analysed global changes in the proteomic profile of soluble liver proteins. Our shotgun analyses revealed
predominance of up-regulation of proteins at 5weeks of infection, coincidingwith the onset of egg laying,
and a remarkable down-regulation of liver constituents at 7 weeks, when severe tissue damage is installed. Representatives
of glycolytic enzymes and stress response (in particular at the endoplasmic reticulum)were among
the most differentially expressed molecules found in the infected liver. Collectively, our data contribute over 70
molecules not previously reported to be found at altered levels in murine schistosomiasis to further exploration
of their potential as biomarkers of the disease.Moreover, understanding their intricate interaction using bioinformatics
approach can potentially bring clarity to unknownmechanisms linked to the establishment of this condition
in the vertebrate host.
Significance: To our knowledge, this study refers to the first shotgun proteomic analysis to provide an inventory of
the global changes in the liver soluble proteome caused by Schistosomamansoni in the Balb/cmodel. It also innovates
by yielding data on quantification of the identified molecules as a manner to clarify and give insights into
the underlying mechanisms for establishment of Schistosomiasis, a neglected tropical disease with historical
prevalence in Brazil
Ontogenetic changes in mouth morphology triggers conflicting hypotheses of relationships in characid fishes (Ostariophysi: Characiformes)
ABSTRACT Bryconamericus lethostigmus is the type-species of the monotypic genus Odontostoechus, diagnosed in part based on the presence of a unique tooth series in the premaxilla. Recently a new proposal of classification of the Stevardiinae placed Odontostoechus as a junior synonym of a monophyletic genus Bryconamericus sensu stricto, a genus characterized by the presence of two tooth series. Bryconamericus lethostigmus is redescribed herein and the single tooth series in the premaxilla is demonstrated to originate from merging of the external tooth row with the inner row during ontogeny refuting primary hypothesis of homology between the mouth morphology of B. lethostigmus and the genera Bryconacidnus, Ceratobranchia, Monotocheirodon, Othonocheirodus, Rhinopetitia and Rhinobrycon. A phylogeographic analysis indicated that the pattern described for the sympatric species Diapoma itaimbe is not mirrored by B. lethostigmus. The results also do not support the hypothesis of a new species in the rio Araranguá drainage
Extending product life by introducing symbolic meaning: An exploration of design strategies to support subjective well-being
Because products are often discarded while still fully functioning, it may be possible to support durability with design that stimulates a more enduring product-owner relationship. This paper is based on the proposition that one promising approach to support such prolonged relevance is by developing products with a higher predisposition for the attribution of happiness-related symbolic meaning. The study was based on a framework with six types of symbolic product meanings: positive relations with others, personal growth, purpose in life, environmental mastery, autonomy, and selfacceptance. In a pre-study, fifty existing symbolically meaningful products were selected based on these six symbolic meanings. In the main study, seven designers and design researchers analysed these fifty products with the aim to uncover underlying design directions. This resulted in sixteen design directions. The directions can act as a source of inspiration to designers when aiming to design for a long-term meaningful product-owner relationship.Industrial DesignIndustrial Design Engineerin
Susceptibility of Echinochloa populations to cyhalofop-butyl in Southern region of Brazil and impact of the weed phenology on its efficacy of control
ABSTRACT: Cyhalofop-butyl stands out among the herbicides in the control of imidazolinone-resistant Echinochloa species; but, rice farmers are not always satisfied with the control achieved with this herbicide. The objectives were to evaluate in regional scale the susceptibility of Echinochloa populations to cyhalofop-butyl, and quantify the effect of the weed phenology on its efficacy of control. For this, three trials were carried out under greenhouse conditions with a fully random design, using Echinochloa populations collected in rice fields in the southern region of Brazil. In two trials, the susceptibility level of 156 (2012/13 growth season) and 103 (2013/14 growth season) populations were evaluated with the application of cyhalofop-butyl at 360g ha-1. In other trial, in which treatments were arranged in a bi-factorial design (A = 6 x B = 5), it was evaluated six cyhalofop-butyl rates and five phenological stages of E. crus-galli populations. Echinochloa populations had showed differential susceptibility to cyhalofop-butyl, especially in the 2013/14 growth season, where 20 out of the 103 populations had control lower than 90%. The efficacy of this herbicide was inversely proportional to the phenological stage, and the application timing delay contributed directly to the decrease of susceptibility to the herbicide. Cyhalofop-butyl is an effective alternative to control imidazolinone-resistant Echinochloa populations, as long as the application timing occurs in the early phenological stages (2 to 4 leaves)
