Recurrence of alveolar capillary dysplasia with misalignment of pulmonary veins in two consecutive siblings

Alveolar capillary dysplasia with misalignment of pulmonary veins (ACD/MPV) is a rare, developmental lung disorder, which has been increasingly reported. This entity usually presents as neonatal persistent pulmonary hypertension that is unresponsive to treatment, and is known to be uniformly fatal. Recent discoveries in the genetic field, and intensive treatments, may change the natural course of this disease, permitting easier diagnosis and giving new hope for the dismal prognosis. The authors present two cases of siblings, with two years of difference, from different fathers - one of them was a first-degree and the other a second-degree cousin of the mother. Both patients were full-term babies born apparently without malformations and were sent to the nursery. Both siblings near 35 hours of age presented severe respiratory failure due to pulmonary hypertension. The outcome was fatal in both cases and at autopsy ACD/MPV was diagnosed. The authors call attention to this entity in the differential diagnosis of acute respiratory distress in early life

Estudo da ciência da educação fundamentada na interdisciplinaridade por Olga Pombo: um estudo de revisão

It is a systematic review of the literature, in order to check how the ideas of interdisciplinarity formulated by the Portuguese epistemology Olga Pombo been presented in doctoral theses published in the catalog of theses and dissertations the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Level Personnel (CAPES), during the period from 2015 to 2017, The corpus was formed 28 theses, being eleven in eight Education in information science and the other in the areas of health, development and the environment. In this study it was found that the interdisciplinarity portrayed corroborates the concept advocated by the author in relation to “manifestation of epistemological transformation underway".Es una revisión sistemática de la literatura, con el fin de comprobar cómo las ideas de la interdisciplinariedad formulan por la epistemóloga Portugués Olga Pombo presentar las tesis doctorales publicadas en el catálogo de tesis y disertaciones el Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES), durante el período 2015-2017. El corpus fue formadas 28 tesis, siendo once en ocho educación en Ciencias de la información y la otra en las áreas de salud, el desarrollo y el medio ambiente. En este estudio se encontró que la interdisciplinariedad retratada corrobora el concepto defendido por el autor en relación con “manifestación de transformación epistemológica en marcha".Trata-se de revisão sistemática da literatura, com objetivo de verificar como as ideias de interdisciplinaridade formuladas pela epistemóloga portuguesa Olga Pombo apresentam-se nas teses de doutorado publicadas no catálogo de teses e dissertações da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES), no período de 2015 a 2017. Familial aquagenic urticaria: report of two cases and literature review

Aquagenic urticaria is a rare form of physical urticaria, characterized by pruritic wheals that appear following contact with water, independently of its temperature. There are few reports of cases of aquagenic urticaria, and only five include the familial form. We present the first case of familial aquagenic urticaria in Brazil (mother and daughter). Both patients presented wheals following contact with water, especially when showering, regardless of its temperature. The mother reported onset of urticaria four years before and the daughter presented wheals since birth. For diagnostic purposes, they were submitted to a challenge test with water, and both subjects presented wheals, as well as to tests using ice cubes in plastic bag with dermographometer and challenge tests for cholinergic urticaria, with no appearance of lesions, excluding other forms of physical urticaria.Urticária aquagênica é forma rara de urticária física caracterizada por aparecimento de urticas após o contato com água, independente da temperatura. Há poucos casos descritos de urticária aquagênica e, destes, somente cinco da forma familiar. Apresentamos o primeiro relato de urticária aquagênica familiar no Brasil, acometendo mãe e filha. Ambas apresentavam urticas, principalmente após banho de chuveiro, independentemente da temperatura da água. A mãe referia ter o quadro há quatro anos, e a filha, desde o nascimento. Programa de extensão formação de educadores e educação sexual: interfaces com as tecnologias - etapa VII

Trabalho apresentado no 31º SEURS - Seminário de Extensão Universitária da Região Sul, realizado em Florianópolis, SC, no período de 04 a 07 de agosto de 2013 - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina.O presente texto contextualiza o Programa de Extensão Formação de Educadores e Educação Sexual: interfaces com as tecnologias – Etapa VII que acontece há sete anos no Centro de Educação a Distância – CEAD na Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina - UDESC. Também explicita as três ações atualmente desenvolvidas pelo Programa, com ênfase no Laboratório Educação e Sexualidade - LabEduSex, ação de extensão iniciada neste ano de 2013. A caracterização do Laboratório e as atividades desenvolvidas no primeiro semestre de 2013 serão o foco deste texto

Landscape Transformation: Temporal Evolution of the Erosion Process on a Hillside on the Island of Itamaracá / Brazil

Urban planning is important to guarantee the quality of life for society, as it proposes spatial planning and problem solving, especially those related to land use. Thus, it was proposed to perform an evaluation of actions that promote and/or accelerate the erosive processes on a hillside located in island of Itamaracá/BR. The “interaction networks” and “land use maps” techniques were used in combination, which resulted in a more accurate environmental assessment, as well as the use of models for future estimates. The results pointed to mediumrisk for the environmental indicators of “occupation types” and evidence of collapse”, and high risk for“urban density”and“vegetation”indicators. It has also been predicted that over the years, the urban sprawl in the area will continue to grow until it reaches stability due to the total occupation of useful areas as well as that the growth rate for vegetation will be negative. Thus, there is a need to mitigate environmental damage in the short term, in order to avoid the occurrence of accidents in the hillside area

Communication in Palliative Care: a Bibliometric Study / Cuidados Paliativos e Comunicação: Estudo Bibliométrico

Objetivo: Analisar os indicadores bibliométricos acerca da produção cientifica sobre cuidados paliativos e comunicação disseminados em periódicos online no campo da saúde. Método: - Estudo bibliométrico cuja amostra foi composta por 67 artigos, publicados no período de 2007-2016 nas bases de dados Lilacs, MedLine e Scielo. Resultados: A análise dos indicadores mostrou que houve crescimento expressivo das publicações sobre cuidados paliativos e comunicação, nos últimos dez anos, mesmo de forma não progressiva. O ano de 2016 se destacou como o de maior produção de estudos (22%).  Verificou-se a internacionalização dos estudos sobre a temática, tendo em vista que a maioria foi publicada em periódicos internacionais (80,6%), na língua inglesa (76,2%). Conclusão: Existe a necessidade do desenvolvimento de pesquisas com maior nível de evidência na área dos cuidados paliativos e da comunicação, para que possam ser aplicados na assistência ao paciente.

Soil evaluation for pineapple cultivation (ananás comosus) in the municipality of Teotônio Vilela, Alagoas / Avaliação do solo para cultivação de abacaxi (ananás comosus) no município de Teotônio Vilela, Alagoas

Soil fertility is one of the crucial factors for agriculture, which has as its main objective the increase of its production. This is why it is extremely important to know the nutritional requirement of the cultivar. The present study aimed to evaluate soil fertility in the municipality of Teotônio Vilela – Alagoas, in the Laudelino farm, emphasizing the quantification of the nutrients needed to guarantee the agricultural productivity for the pineapple crop (Ananás comosus). For this purpose, a random sampling of soil was initiated in the area 1.0 hectare in the layer of 0-20 cm of depth. Fifteen samples were collected (each sample with approximately 0.5 DM ³ of soil) from simple collection were mixed to compose a single composite sample and, from this, 1.0 kg of soil was withdrawn for posterior soil fertility analyses. Carried out in the soil Laboratory of the Agrarian Sciences Center (ECSC) of the Universidade Federal de Alagoas (UFAL) located in the municipality of Rio Largo, AL. We analyzed the potential hydrogenionic (pH), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K +) accessible; Calcium (Ca + 2) and magnesium (Mg + 2) exchangeable; Exchangeable aluminum saturation (m%), CTC cation exchange capacity at pH 7.0 (T); Base sum (V%) and Organic matter (OM). It was observed that the results showed the following values: Ca + 2 contents (3.42 Cmolc/DM ³), CTC (T) (10.73 Cmolc/DM ³); K + (110 mg/DM ³), Mg + 2 (2.53 Cmolc/DM ³), Al + 3 (0.03 Cmolc/DM ³), MO (14.1 g/kg), P (5.0 mg/DM ³), M% (0.0), pH (5.6) and V% (59.0). From the results found, it is concluded that it will not be necessary to apply limestone to increase the base saturation to 60%, because 59% as found in the soil already satimakes nutritional need of the culture in question. In addition to this correction, it is also recommended the dosage of 160 kg of P2O5 and 40 kg of nitrogen (N) per hectare, through the incorporation in the soil of 800 kg/ha in the formulation 05-20-0. However, organic fertilization between 30 and 50 t/ha of curable corral manure, if possible 30 days before planting can elevate redendimento of the cultivar. It is noteworthy that its application is insexpenable to the culture by promoting better development to the plant and the fruit.
