I have an entrepreneurial mentality, on that basis I discuss these ideas I believe have potential for development. In this bachelor thesis we elaborate a business plan of a new product where we introduce new technologies, until now non-existent in the trade of the manufacture and commercialization of traffic signs. The new business consists of a SME with about 8 or 10 employees, including managers and workers, depending on the results the number of employees may increase. The main activity is the manufacture of standard traffic signs but introducing an additional innovation, this traffic signs can modify their contents remotely, without having to be replaced by others or the need to go to where are transforming them.

Digital Learning is one of the most important innovations since printing. We know that true elements of education are better transmitted face to face, however the new information technologies have strengthen the development of a mixed model that uses online tools strategically and that make education more effective and attractive to students, in ways we did not know of. One of these tools are virtual tutors, which use is more and more spread since they strengthen motivation and enthusiasm, qualities needed for a better learning either in blended-learning or in e-learning, where face to face interaction with the teacher or the classmates are limited. With this idea on mind, a group of teachers of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos of Madrid, decided to introduce a new module for Moodle, called “Merlin-Know”, to use it with students from Pre-Primary and Primary Education. This idea mainly aroused from the difficulties the course ICT in Education had for these students, since they do not have a technical profile. Therefore, Merlin-Know allowed guiding and motivating students, acting like a virtual teacher and doing a tracking of their performance, both, individually and compared with their classmates. The system has been used during the course 2012-13 with courses online, face to face and bilingual in English to cover all educational modalities that existed in our University.Facultad de Informátic

Seasonal variation of biogas upgrading coupled with digestate treatment in an outdoors pilot scale algal-bacterial photobioreactor

Producción CientíficaThe yearly variations of the quality of the upgraded biogas and the efficiency of digestate treatment were evaluated in an outdoors pilot scale high rate algal pond (HRAP) interconnected to an external absorption column (AC) via a conical settler. CO2 concentrations in the upgraded biogas ranged from 0.7% in August to 11.9% in December, while a complete H2S removal was achieved regardless of the operational month. CH4 concentrations ranged from 85.2% in December to 97.9% in June, with a limited O2 and N2 stripping in the upgraded biogas mediated by the low recycling liquid/biogas ratio in the AC. Biomass productivity ranged from 0.0 g m−2 d−1 in winter to 22.5 g m−2 d−1 in summer. Finally, microalgae diversity was severely reduced throughout the year likely due to the increasing salinity in the cultivation broth of the HRAP induced by process operation in the absence of effluent.INCOVER - Innovative Eco-Technologies for Resource Recovery from Wastewater (689242

Influence of the seasonal variation of environmental conditions on biogas upgrading in an outdoors pilot scale high rate algal pond

Producción CientíficaThe influence of the daily and seasonal variations of environmental conditions on the quality of the upgraded biogas was evaluated in an outdoors pilot scale high rate algal pond (HRAP) interconnected to an external absorption column (AC) via a conical settler. The high alkalinity in the cultivation broth resulted in a constant biomethane composition during the day regardless of the monitored month, while the high algal-bacterial activity during spring and summer boosted a superior biomethane quality. CO2 concentrations in the upgraded biogas ranged from 0.1% in May to 11.6% in December, while a complete H2S removal was always achieved regardless of the month. A limited N2 and O2 stripping from the scrubbing cultivation broth was recorded in the upgraded biogas at a recycling liquid/biogas ratio in the AC of 1. Finally, CH4 concentration in the upgraded biogas ranged from 85.6% in December to 99.6% in August.2019-12-312019-12-31INCOVER - Innovative Eco-Technologies for Resource Recovery from Wastewater (689242

Alta de la UCI; Diseño de un método mixto; Intervención de enfermeríaAlta de la UCI; Disseny d'un mètode mixt; Intervenció d'infermeriaICU discharge; Mixed-method design; Nursing interventionAim (a) To understand patients’ lived experience at intensive care unit (ICU) discharge and (b) to evaluate the impact of a nursing empowerment intervention (NEI) on patients’ anxiety and depression levels at ICU discharge. Design A mixed-methods approach will be applied. Methods In the qualitative phase, the hermeneutic phenomenological method will be used. Participants will be patients from three university hospitals who will be selected by purposive sampling. Data will be gathered through in-depth interviews and analysed using content analysis. The qualitative data obtained will be employed to develop the nursing intervention. Subsequently, a multicenter, parallel-group, experimental pre-test/post-test design with a control group will be used to measure the effectiveness of the nursing empowerment intervention in the quantitative phase by means of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Simple random probabilistic sampling will include 172 patients in this phase

Two-Factor Model of Emotionof Watson and Tellengen has been investigated for the differentiation of  anxiety and depression in Europe and North America, but no studies have been reported in middle-aged Cuban population. The objective of this research was to investigate the negative (NA) and positive affectivity (PA)  in individuals without psychopathology, predominantly anxious, depressive or mixed symptoms. The sample was 219 subjects; 19.2% with symptoms of anxiety, 17.8% has depression, 23.7% mixed anxiety and depression symptoms, and the rest without symptoms. Positive and negative affect schedule (PANAS) was used to study emotion;  and Anxiety and Depression Scale Goldberg (GADS) to differentiate diagnostic subgroups. The one-way ANOVA was used with the method of Tukey Honest Significant Difference. We found that AP was lower in depressive as predicted by the model, but the prediction that the AP would differentiate anxious people without symptoms was fulfilled, which highlights the need to evaluate the models developed in other cultures.

Service-learning is a methodology designed to facilitate learning through community service, in order to fill a gap in the community to which participants belong. This paper describes the experience carried out by a group of teachers and Pre-School / Primary Education students at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos of Madrid. After several years teaching the course ICT in Education, we had noticed that students found the course difficult. The reason for it could be that the nature of this course is very different from the rest of these students’ courses. Therefore, we thought it might be interesting to apply a service-learning methodology to teach ICT in education. The core idea was that our students could teach what they have learnt in the course to teachers in several schools at the Comunidad de Madrid. This experience was focused on three aspects: (i) improving our students learning, (ii) getting together students and teachers to tackle the use of ICT for education and (iii) transferring knowledge from the university to the schools, promoting new ways of collaboration among them.Facultad de Informátic
