Constructing alignment in Spanish as a foreign / second language teaching
The article analyzes the general outline of a formal process of Spanish as a second/foreign language teaching, from the objectives to the table of contents needed to achieve them, the methodology and the activities used for the learning of those contents and the assessment method used. It will be shown that, in a certain moment of the process, the line initially drawn is usually broken. The result is a non-aligned teaching and, therefore, a superficial learning (BIGGS, 2005).peerReviewe
In this article, we analyze the scientific journals which include articles about Spanish (S), English (E), Portuguese (P), German (G) and French (F) as foreign languages (FL) and/or second languages (L2). We try to check if there are languages that, as object of study, are more present than others in the most important scientific journals.
In the present article the abilities and linguistic knowledge that come into play when interpreting humorous statements are analysed. We set our focus on jokes created from lexical ambiguity. Should the recipient of the text not know the different meanings that come into play in this kind of text and in the case of not being able to establish a connection between both meanings in a period of time of less than 400 milliseconds, the interpretation process will fail. Both requirements, knowledge of the different meanings, on the one hand, and the ability to establish a quick connection, on the other, are possible for individuals with a high lexical semantic competence. Thus, we consider that a valid and reliable test including such texts could turn out a useful tool to determine the lexical semantic ability of nonnative speakers of a language in general, and of Spanish in particular.

Verbal humor as a communicative resource has found a new form of expression in social networks, using strategies conditioned by these media. We will focus on the social network Twitter, in which humor is present every day so that its users take advantage, on the one hand, of its possibilities, submitting, in turn, to the formal restrictions it imposes. The use of graphic stimuli plays a fundamental role in this network at the moment of presenting the scripts that come into opposition, in which a verbal complement is very often required to resolve the incongruity that arises and thus achieve the desired comic effect. Based on the General Theory of Verbal Humor (Attardo and Raskin, 1991), tweets from 15 network users recognized for their use of humor for different purposes are analyzed, selected by the Liopardo website in its list of "The 200 best tweeters of humor from Spain". In it, accounts created from false identities (Mancera, 2014) and accounts with real identities of people who adopt humor as the main resource of expression are mixed. The final sample exclusively includes tweets in which the graphic and the verbal are combined, offering texts of a different nature regarding the logical mechanism used to resolve the incongruity that they pose. The analysis carried out reveals that the role of the graphic stimulus varies in terms of its shape: photo, GIF or video. Likewise, the preference of linguistic forms is verified, within the sixth resource of knowledge defined in the GTVH, which become exclusive of this context when it comes to the expression of humor

TOTAD interface: A review of its application for LVI and LC-GC
Large volume injection (LVI) in gas chromato graphy (GC) and online liquid chromatography-gas chro matography (LC-GC) are useful techniques for analyzing
the compounds present at very low concentrations in
complex samples since they substantially increase the
sensitivity of the analysis and simplify sample prepara tion. LVI avoids the need to concentrate the extract and
even the extraction step itself by directly injecting the
sample. In online LC-GC, the liquid chromatography
(LC) step acts as the sample preparation and/or fractio nation step. The main problem in both techniques is
the selective elimination of the large volume of solvent
without losing the analytes. The TOTAD (through oven
transfer adsorption–desorption) interface, based on a
widely modified PTV (programmed temperature vapor izer) injector, allows large volumes to be injected into
the gas chromatograph using both nonpolar and polar
solvents, including water. Consequently, online LC-GC
can be carried out whether the LC step is in the normal
phase or the reversed phase. Various methods for ana lyzing trace compounds in food and environmental sam ples have been developed for LVI and online LC-GC using
the TOTAD interface. Such analysis methods require the
optimization of several variables common to LVI and
online LC-GC and specific variables involved in online
LC-GC, which must be optimized by taking into account
the nature of the analytes and the characteristics of the
sample matrix. This article reviews how each of these
variables affects the performance of the analysi
New Analytical Method for Determination of Phthalates in Wastewater by on Line LC-GC-MS Using the TOTAD Interface and Fraction Collector
There is an increasing demand for automatic, reliable and sensitive analytical methods
for determining trace levels of phthalic acid esters (PAEs) in environmental samples. While on line
coupled liquid chromatography-gas chromatography (LC-GC) has been proof to be a powerful tool
for trace-level analyses in complex matrices, the present work presents a new totally automated on
line LC-GC method, using the Through Oven Transfer Adsorption Desorption (TOTAD) interface,
for the analysis of four of the main phthalates, dibuthyl phthalate (DBP), diethyl phthalate (DEP),
dimethyl phthalate (DMP) and diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), in a matrix as complex as leachate.
The sample is directly injected into the LC injector valve with no sample pretreatment other than
simple filtration. The LC step separates the target analytes from matrix interference. Two different LC
fractions are collected in a purposely designed fraction collector and then transferred to the TOTAD
interface, which concentrates the analytes, totally eliminates the solvent and transfers the analytes to
the GC-MS system, where the analysis is carried out. The LOD of the method varied from 0.1 µg/L
(DEHP) to 1.4 µg/L (DMP), RSD for retention time below 0.14% and for absolute peak areas below
12% and linearity from 1 µg/L to 1000 µg/L (R2 > 0.99), except in the case of DEHP (linearity from 1
to 250 µg/L, R2 = 0.94). The method was applied to the analysis of the target analytes in samples
collected from a municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill in Rosario (Argentina)
Analysis of a New Teaching Approach to teach chemical bonding to High School Spanish students
This report shows the design and implementation of a New Teaching Approach (NTA) for
chemical bonding to 1st year high school students (16-18y). To design and test the proposal
several key aspect regarding chemical bonding have been determined after taking into
consideration the student preconceptions. The NTA has been implemented in one
experimental group while the control one has been taught with traditional methodology. The
same comprehensive test has been offered to both groups after being taught chemical bonding,
and the answers have been analysed. In the findings it is observed that the proposed NTA and
the used teaching strategies let students develop a higher thinking analysis and a deeper
knowledge of chemical bonding, although still some aspects regarding the role of energy in bond
formation should be improved in NTA
Mecanismos de humor verbal en Twitter
The present article aims to characterize samples of verbal humor published on
the social network Twitter. To do so, an analysis of 81 humorous texts
published under the hashtag #otegi during 1 March 2016, on which date
Arnaldo Otegi was released from prison after six years, was carried out. A
pragmatic study of the tweets was performed, opting for the General Theory
of Verbal Humor as a basis. The examination conducted reveals that the
manner of presentation of opposing scripts, the logical mechanisms availed of
to resolve this kind of incongruity, the special narrative strategies selected and
the linguistic choices made are determined at all times by the circumstances in which the texts are presented and the upper limit constraint of 140 characters
