Matrix Theory for the DLCQ of Type IIB String Theory on the AdS/Plane-wave

We propose a recipe to construct the DLCQ Hamiltonian of type IIB string theory on the AdS (and/or plane-wave) background. We consider a system of J number of coincident unstable non-BPS D0-branes of IIB theory in the light-cone gauge and on the plane-wave background with a compact null direction, the dynamics of which is described by the world-line U(J) gauge theory. This configuration suffers from tachyonic instabilities. Having instabilities been cured through the process of open string tachyon condensation, by expanding the theory about true minima of the effective potential and furthermore taking low energy limit to decouple the heavy modes, we end up with a 0+1-dimensional supersymmetric U(J) gauge theory, a Matrix Theory. We conjecture that the Hamiltonian of this Matrix Theory is just the DLCQ Hamiltonian of type IIB string theory on the AdS or equivalently plane-wave background in a sector with J units of light-cone momentum. We present some pieces of evidence in support of the proposal.Comment: LaTeX, 35 pages, 2 eps figures; v2: minor changes, references added; v3: minor change

The objective of this study was to measure the accuracies of genomic enhanced EPDs of genotyped animals in an international multi-breed beef cattle genetic evaluations using a single-step Bayesian regression model. The average BIF accuracies of genotyped animals with no progeny information were compared to the average BIF accuracies of non-genotyped sires with different number of progenies with observed phenotypes for birth, weaning and yearling weights. The results showed that the BIF accuracy of a genotyped animal is equivalent to the BIF accuracy of a non-genotyped sire with 21, 22 and 10 progenies with observed phenotypes for BW, WW and YW, respectively. These results demonstrate the value of DNA testing of selection candidates for beef cattle breeders across the world

    A mirrorless spinwave resonator

Optical resonance is central to a wide range of optical devices and techniques. In an optical cavity, the round-trip length and mirror reflectivity can be chosen to optimize the circulating optical power, linewidth, and free-spectral range (FSR) for a given application. In this paper we show how an atomic spinwave system, with no physical mirrors, can behave in a manner that is analogous to an optical cavity. We demonstrate this similarity by characterising the build-up and decay of the resonance in the time domain, and measuring the effective optical linewidth and FSR in the frequency domain. Our spinwave is generated in a 20 cm long Rb gas cell, yet it facilitates an effective FSR of 83 kHz, which would require a round-trip path of 3.6 km in a free-space optical cavity. Furthermore, the spinwave coupling is controllable enabling dynamic tuning of the effective cavity parameters.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figure

Pemanfaatan Citra Landsat 8 Multitemporal Untuk Pemetaan Muatan Padatan Tersuspensi Pada Muara Sungai Serayu Jawa Tengah

Cellular location and activity of Escherichia coli RecG proteins shed light on the function of its structurally unresolved C-terminus

RecG is a DNA translocase encoded by most species of bacteria. The Escherichia coli protein targets branched DNA substrates and drives the unwinding and rewinding of DNA strands. Its ability to remodel replication forks and to genetically interact with PriA protein have led to the idea that it plays an important role in securing faithful genome duplication. Here we report that RecG co-localises with sites of DNA replication and identify conserved arginine and tryptophan residues near its C-terminus that are needed for this localisation. We establish that the extreme C-terminus, which is not resolved in the crystal structure, is vital for DNA unwinding but not for DNA binding. Substituting an alanine for a highly conserved tyrosine near the very end results in a substantial reduction in the ability to unwind replication fork and Holliday junction structures but has no effect on substrate affinity. Deleting or substituting the terminal alanine causes an even greater reduction in unwinding activity, which is somewhat surprising as this residue is not uniformly present in closely related RecG proteins. More significantly, the extreme C-terminal mutations have little effect on localisation. Mutations that do prevent localisation result in only a slight reduction in the capacity for DNA repair. © 2014 The Author(s)

Winner Perkasa Indonesia Unggul is a SME that sells product based on seaweed processing. The enterprise is trying to improve their business activity on seaweed processing products. The purposes of this research are to identify the existing business model at the enterprise, to evaluate the model, and to generate a new business model prototype with the Business Model Canvas method analysis. This research is a case study on a company, and conducted in March-May 2016. The data used are primary data in the form of interviews and internal company data, while qualitative analysis used to evaluate the business model, and the SWOT analysis method used to help generating new business model prototype. The results of this research were two alternative of business model prototype for the enterprise's development in the future. The first alternative is trying to classify new customer segment, and followed by creating the new value proposition. With the additional of new customer segment and the new value proposition, it caused the enterprise to extend the channels by optimalizing technologies, and eventually increase the revenue stream of the enterprise. The second alternative is trying to increase the customer relationship by creating the new value proposition. It will raise the opportunity to make an alliance or partnership for helping the business activity of the enterprise. However, the changes on some parts of the business model will affect the enterprise's cost structure

Coupling the image analysis and the artificial neural networks to predict a mixing time of a pharmaceutical powder

In recent years, different laboratories were interested in predicting the mixing time of a pharmaceutical powder. In fact, a nonhomogeneous mixture may lead to under dose and/or overdose of the active ingredient in the drug product. Our study is aimed toward using a new and revolutionary approach in the field of the processes “The Artificial Neural Networks” (ANN) by using the Neural Networks ToolboxTM derived from Matlab® software. The validation of the neural network was assumed by studying others mixing powder s and then we compared the experimental results to the data obtained by the neural network calculations. Experimental results were obtained from a non-destructive method (Image Analysis) which was used in order to characterize the homogeneity of powder mixture in a V-Blender as well as a Cubic Blender which are most used in the pharmaceutical industry. Keywords: ANN; Image analysis; Homogeneity; Back-propagation algorithm; multi-layer perceptro
