Selection of optimum Drilling Parameter in Drilling of commercial Acrylic sheet to achieve minimum Hole Expansion by using Taguchi Approach

    Get PDF
Abstract Drilling and Milling are the two most important machining processes. In drilling process, we make a hole in a work piece. In many engineering applications, it becomes very important to drill a precise hole. Accuracy of the hole depends upon the various factors such as cutting speed, feed, tool geometry, work material and thickness of the work piece to be drilled. During the drilling operation heat is generated at tool work interface which tends to decrease the accuracy of the hole. This phenomenon becomes extremely important in the drilling of plastics. This investigation presents the use of Taguchi method to achieve the minimum hole size expansion in drilling of acrylic sheet. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of cutting parameters, such as cutting speed and feed rate, and point angle on hole size(without considering the thermal effect).

    Get PDF
Apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) is a nutritious fruit, rich in bioactive compounds, known for their health benefits. The present study attempts to evaluate nutritional (sugars, organic acids, minerals) and nutraceutical traits (total phenolics, flavonoids, carotenoids, antioxidant activity) of six commercial apricot genotypes grown in India. Antioxidant activity was determined using three in-vitro assays, namely CUPRAC (cupric reducing antioxidant capacity), FRAP (ferric reducing antioxidant power) and DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl). Significant (p < 0.05) differences were observed in the genotypes concerning nutritional and nutraceutical traits. Sucrose accounted for more than 60% of total sugars in most genotypes, followed by glucose and fructose. Citric acid accounted for more than 50% of the total organic acids present, followed by malic and succinic acids. Apricot is a good source of potassium (1430.07 to 2202.69 mg/100 g dwb) and iron (2.69 to 6.97 mg/100 g dwb) owing to its mineral composition. Total carotenoids content ranged from 0.44 to 3.55 mg/100 g, with β-carotene accounting for 33-84% of the total content. The results strongly suggest that genotypes 'CITH-A-1' and 'CITH-A-2', which have high dry matter and carotenoids content, are well suited for drying. 'Roxana' and 'CITH-A-3' are great for fresh consumption, while 'Shakarpara' and 'Gold Cot' are excellent for juice processing

Analysis of the Concept of Adverse Possession

    Get PDF
The research proposal focuses on the concept of Adverse Possession and how its misuse by any government can lead to serious environmental and economical problems for the society as a whole, for which various examples and models are provided throughout the proposal for the reader to understand. And the impact of these different models on the owner of property and the claimant of the property. Then it sheds some light on how as the use of property over a period of land for activities such as grazing, agriculture , timber cutting, using it for firewood, exploiting it further and further for all the different kind of economic benefits can lead to the environmental degradation of the place , and the places surrounding it as the adverse possession rules in some part of the globe , more for instance in the western society ,favor the right of the claimant towards the property, so the economic exploitation of property is directly linked to the higher chances of adverse possession being undertaken. Then at the conclusion the paper focuses on several instances and methods which are necessary to be carried out by the government and the people in general so as to prevent the exploitation of land in the name of adverse possession to take place, various examples being restricting the transfer of title of property from own claimant to its successor, laying out strict guidelines for the uses of wildlife areas and its private possession by different organization’s for their own use , only if the unfiltered use of the private properties can be prevented by the government and various measures need to be put in check so as to ensure so as to ensure there is no environmental exploitation at all

    Get PDF
Anthocyanin-rich extracts from black carrots are being considered as a candidate replacer for the red colour in processed foods. The present investigation optimizes the extraction of anthocyanins with high phenolic content and low degradation parameters from black carrots using a cellulolytic multi-enzyme preparation known as Viscozyme. The optimized conditions for Viscozyme using a Box-Behnken design (BBD) of response surface methodology (RSM) were as follow: temperature (50.2 â—¦C), extraction time (58.4 min) and enzyme concentration (0.20%). The predicted value of anthocyanins content was 1380 mg/L, which was near to the optimized experimental value of 1375 mg/L. The extracted anthocyanins based on above mentioned conditions exhibited the lowest degradation parameters such as degradation index (DI) of (0.86), browning index of (BI) (1.31) and were characterized with cyanidin 3-sinapoylxylosylglucosylgalactoside as being the most abundant. The findings clearly reveal that Viscozyme-assisted extraction (VAE) is the best approach for extracting superior quality extracts from black carrots with high anthocyanin and other phenolic component concentrations
