A stabilizációs centrumokra vonatkozó információ beépítése fehérje szekvencia-térszerkezet párosító (threading) eljárásba = Incorporation of stabilization centers into threading

A 2003-2006 időszakban végzett kutatómunkám a stabilizációs centrumok azonosítására szolgáló SCIDE nyilvános szerver világhálóra telepítésével kezdődött. A program közepétől tevékenységem kiterjedt a globuláris vízoldható fehérjéken túlra is. Egyrészt kidolgoztuk a TMDET nevű algoritmust, amely alkalmas a transzmembrán fehérjék automatizált megkülönböztetésére és ennek segítségével létrehoztuk a hetente folyamatosan frissülő PDB_TM adatbázist. Emellett elkezdtem foglalkozni az időben állandó térszerkezettel nem rendelkező, úgynevezett rendezetlen fehérjékkel. Ezen a területen a legfontosabb eredményem, hogy kidolgoztam egy eredeti módszert rendezetlen fehérjék illetve fehérje szegmenseknek szekvenciából történő becslésére. | I started the research period of 2003-2006 with setting up the freely accessible web server SCIDE for the identification of stabilization centers. Form the middle of the program my research interest gradually shifted beyond water soluble globular proteins. First, we developed the TMDET algorithm suitable for the automated discrimination of globular and transmembrane proteins, and this allowed establishing the PDB_TM database which is updated on a weekly basis. Furthermore, I become interested in the so-called disordered proteins which do not have a stable well defined three-dimensional structure. My main result on this area was the development of an original method for the prediction of disorder protein and protein segments from the amino acid sequence

A futás napjaink egyik legnépszerűbb szabadidősport-tevékenysége. Hazánkban is számtalan utcai futóversenyt rendeznek, melyek résztvevői létszáma folyamatosan emelkedik. "Strategizing", avagy a stratégiaalkotás szerepe a hálózatban egy magyarországi autóipari beszállító példáján keresztül = Strategizing i. e. the role of strategic development in a network through an example of a Hungarian automotive supplier

The traditional sense of strategic management approach and the conceptualisation of “strategizing” in the philosophy of IMP (Industrial Marketing and Purchasing) Group – a research group which examines business organizations from the network theory perspective – is the focus of this paper. The aim of this paper is a comparison between basic theses of corporate strategy and ‚strategizing’ (strategy formulation). After a short theoretical review, the authors illustrate the interpretation of strategizing through a case study of a Hungarian industrial company called Videoton. The authors highlight the fact that the effective strategizing is based on perfect knowledge of the company’s own capabilities, which is necessary for the company to find the favourable network position through managing relationships

Zene, színház és élmények – avagy zenés színházi leisure = Music, theater and experience – or music(al) theater leisure

A zenés színház a szellemi rekreáció szórakoztatási funkciót betöltő egyik alterülete. Már a 19. századi Magyarországon is megjelent a műfaj. Jelentős reprezentánsai voltak például a fővárosban az orfeumok (mint a Budapest Operetszínház elődje, a Somossy Orfeum 1894-től). Ezek mellet már 1840-től a Nemzet Színház (1837- 1840 közöt Pest Magyar Színház), 1875- től a Népszínház, illetve 1884-től a Magyar Állami Operaház is kínált ilyen előadásokat. Az építészetleg is remekül kialakítot épületek jelentős része a híres bécsi építészpáros, Fellner és Helmer nevéhez fűződik, ám Ybl Miklós operaház-kialakítása is kimagasló. Épületséták során is megismerhetjük ezeket. A 20-21. századra szélesebb körben megjelent a zenés műfaj a prózai színházak repertoárjában, vidéken is, valamint a szabadtéri létesítményekben. Jelen tanulmány a három, zenével gazdagon átszőt színházi műfaj sajátosságai mellet törekszik a szellemi/intellektuális/ mentális rekreációs hatásokat is bemutatni, hiszen ezen művek megtekintése is élményt, fow-közeli állapotot hozhat létre. = Musical theater is one of the subfelds of mental or intellectual recreaton that fulflls an entertainment functon. The genre appeared already in the 19th-century Hungary. Its signifcant representatives were, for example, the orpheums in the capital, Budapest (as the predecessor of the Budapest Opereta Theater, the so-called Somossy Orpheum since 1894). In additon to these, the Natonal Theater (the former Hungarian Theater of Pest between 1837-1840), the People’s Theater (since 1875), and the Hungarian State Opera (since 1884) ofered such performances. A signifcant part of the architecturally excellent buildings is atributed to the famous Viennese architects, Fellner and Helmer, but Miklós Ybl’s Opera House design is also outstanding. You can get to know them also during theatre-building walks. By the 20th and 21st century, the musical genre appeared more widely also in the repertoire of prose theaters, also in the countryside, as well as in open-air facilites. In additon to the characteristcs of the three theater genres richly interwoven with music, this study also aims to present the spiritual/intellectual/mental recreatonal efects, since atending these kinds of productons can also create experience and a state close-to-fow. Alternatív mozi élmények = Alternative movie experience

Az 1950-es évekre Amerikában új szabadidőeltöltési lehetőség terjedt el: az autósmozi, amely később más országokban is megjelent. Napjainkra újabb típusú mozik is biztosítanak alternatívát a klasszikus (épített) filmszínházzal szemben vagy mellett. A cikk áttekinti ezen rekreációs lehetőségeket, amelyek a hétköznapi és turisztikai szabadidős tevékenységeink színesítésére is felhasználhatók. At the 1950s a new leisure time activity, the drivein movie was spread in America that later appeared in other countries, too. Today also newer types of cinemas provide alternatives against or beside the classic (built) movie houses. The aim of this study is to get an overview of these recreational opportunities that can also be used as every day or tourism leisure activities

„KARANTÉN” KULTÚRA MAGYARORSZÁGON = ”QUARANTINE” CULTURE IN HUNGARY

ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS: Mindennapi életünk az elmúlt pár hónapban átalakult a világjárványnak köszönhetően. Több időt töltünk othon, mint előte. A szel- lemi rekreáció néhány formája, mint színház, mozi nem elérhető hagyományos formában. Kérdőíves kutatásban arra kerestünk választ, mennyivel fordítunk több időt olvasás, tanu- lás, önművelés, kreatv tevékenységek céljára. A válaszadók a várakozások szerint ezeket ré- szesítk előnyben. Several forms of mental/intellectual/ non-motor recreaton/leisure actvites such as theatre or movie is not available yet in the classical way. In a questonnaire survey answer was searching for that whether more tme is taken to reading, learning, self-improvement and creatve hobbies. As expected, responders prefer these actvites. Habár a televíziót általában a passzív szórakozás témakörébe soroljuk, a vetélkedők kapcsán érdemes megemlíteni az aktív kikapcsolódás jelentős szerepét is. Fehérjék aktiv állapotának elemzése modellezése és predikciója = Analyzing, modeling and predicting of the active state of proteins

A 2008. április 1. és 2011. december 31. között végzett munka része volt az munkatársaimmal több, mint húsz éve végzett elméleti fehérje szerkezet kutató tevékenységnek, melynek hosszú távú célja a fehérjék szerkezet szerveződésének korszerű leírása. Új molekulamechanikai és molekuladinamikai módszereket fejlesztettünk ki. Ezeket és a már korábban is ismert módszereket felhasználtuk fehérjék egymás közötti, illetve fehérje működése szempontjából releváns folyamatok vizsgálatára. Az általános fehérje szerkezeti vizsgálatokhoz kapcsolódóan létrehoztuk és a világhálóra telepítettünk egy adatbázist a EPIC-DB-t Befejeztük a transzmembrán fehérjék topológiájának vizsgálatát. Ezen a területen is létrehoztunk egy adatbázist, a TOPDOM-ot, amit szintén feltelepítettünk a világhálóra. Transzmembrán fehérjékről több összefoglalót publikáltunk és megkezdtük a munkálatokat ezen fehérjék harmadlagos szerkezetének becsléséhez. A legtöbb munkát a rendezetlen fehérjék témakörében végeztük. Létrehoztuk a jelenleg egyetlen módszert, az ANCHOR-t, rendezetlen fehérjék fehérje kötőhelyeinek a szekvenciából történő becslésére. Jelentős eredményeket értünk el, részben rendezetlen fehérjék más fehérjékkel illetve nukleinsavakkal való kölcsönhatásainak vizsgálatában is. Ezen a területen is publikáltunk összefoglalókat is. | The work we performed in the frame of this project between April 1, 2008 and December 31, 2011 is part of a long term project, started more than two decades ago, to provide a state of the art description of protein structure organization. New molecular mechanics and molecular dynamics methods were developed. These methods, those which we developed earlier and those available from the literature were applied to study protein structures and functionally relevant interactions. As part of our general protein structure research I was involved in the construction of the EPIC-DB database, which is available in the WWW. We have completed our long term study on the topology of transmembrane proteins. As a final part of this program we have constructed the TOPDOM database, put it onto the WWW and published some reviews on transmembrane proteins. We have started the next chapter of our transmembrane protein studies, focusing the relative positions and interactions of the transmembrane segments i.e. the 3D structure. Most of the work of this project involved partly or completely unstructured proteins. The currently only publicly available server to predict binding regions of unstructured protein segments, the ANCHOR were developed and placed on the WWW. We have published several important results on unstructured proteins and their interactions as well as a few reviews in this fiel
