    Literature review on industrial digital platforms : A business model perspective and suggestions for future research

    Rapid digitalization of industries has led to the proliferation of complex industrial digital platforms; however, few industrial platform leaders have successfully established sustainable business models around their offerings. The need for a concrete definition of industrial digital platforms and their business models further complicates our understanding of the issue. In this prospecting review, we critically analyze the existing literature on industrial digital platforms to identify key research themes and research gaps and propose a future research agenda for the industrial digital platform literature from a business model perspective. Drawing on insights from research on industrial platforms, digitalization, digital servitization, and business-to-business (B2B) relationships, our analysis focuses on three key themes in defining the boundaries of industrial digital platforms and the crucial aspects of value creation, value delivery, and value capture on such platforms: (a) co-creative value creation, (b) digitally integrated value delivery, and (c) mutual value capture. The findings of this study and a future research agenda framework provide a roadmap for advancing the understanding of business models for industrial digital platforms. This research aims to contribute to the emerging field of industrial digital platforms and guide future research endeavors in this domain, unlocking the full potential of these platforms for businesses and industries.© 2023 The Authors.     Corporate social responsibility (CSR) and hospitality sector: Charting new frontiers for restaurant businesses

    Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become a key theme of discussion and focus in all debates regarding the need for business enterprises to function in a manner that is responsive and sensitive to the needs of their communities and society. Academic research has also kept pace with the rising industry interest. The literature on CSR has grown appreciably, offering important insights that scholars must collectively evaluate if they are to inform theory and practice. Appreciating the value of such an endeavour, the present study utilised a critical systematic literature review (SLR) to analyse the literature published on the role of CSR in the restaurant sector from 2004 to 2021. The SLR was executed, first, by identifying relevant studies using a clearly defined search protocol. This process resulted in 67 studies. Subsequently, a content analysis we performed on these studies to delineate thematic areas of research. Based on the stakeholder perspective, two main themes and six sub-themes of research related to individual, organisational and societal levels were identified. In addition, the content analysis also identified crucial research gaps, providing the basis for a future research agenda and the development of a research framework for the reference of scholars and practitioners.     Environmental sustainability in restaurants. A systematic review and future research agenda on restaurant adoption of green practices

    The adverse impact that restaurants have on the environment has received widespread attention in the last decade from both practice and academia. The current study aims to find, catalog, and synthesize the research body addressing green issues in the restaurant industry. We utilize the systematic literature review method to identify and analyze 68 research articles addressing environmental unsustainability problems in the restaurant industry. The research profile identifies the time trends of publication, key journals, countries studied, methods used, and restaurant types discussed in these studies. The results indicate that green restaurant research has grown exponentially recently and is now past its infancy. Through a detailed qualitative content analysis, we uncover five key thematic foci: stakeholders and their roles, sources of environmental unsustainability, green initiatives adopted by restaurants to address environmental unsustainability, outcomes of adopting green practices, and various ways of measuring greening practices. Research limitations and gaps of each of the themes are presented, with potential future research questions proposed for each gap. Extant literature reveals that AI can act as efficiency catalyst, empowering firms to implement CBM. However, the journey to harness AI for CBM is fraught with challenges as firms grapple with the lack of sophisticated processes and routines to tap into AI's potential. The fragmented literature leaves a void in understanding the barriers and development pathways for AI capabilities in CBM contexts. Bridging this gap, adopting a capabilities perspective, this review intricately brings together four pivotal capabilities: integrated intelligence capability, process automation and augmentation capability, AI infrastructure and platform capability, and ecosystem orchestration capability as drivers of AI-enabled CBM. These capabilities are vital to navigating the multi-level barriers to utilizing AI for CBM.     Technological Innovation Adoption Among Swedish Healthcare Professionals : A Contingency Technology Adoption Framework

    Technological innovation adoption by healthcare professionals directly impacts enhanced patient care and overall community well-being. However, the perspective of healthcare professionals in evaluating and adopting these technological innovations should be addressed. Drawing on innovation adoption and resistance theories, in this article, we aim to capture their perceptions of the barriers they face and the adoption behaviors they express through a technology adoption contingency framework. The qualitative investigation on Swedish healthcare professionals shows that healthcare innovations are multistakeholder systems where the healthcare-professional's perception of multiple individual, organizational, and administrative barriers causes hesitancy in adopting technologies. However, hesitancy does not always lead to complete resistance; sometimes, it can lead to partial or complete adoption of the technology, contingent on the severity of the barriers and their interrelationship. The findings, summarized in a contingency framework for evaluating barriers to adoption and hesitancy behaviors, highlight the importance of individual perceptions in the adoption and success of complex healthcare innovations. They show why empowering adopters to choose how and when to use the innovation can be a powerful tool in reducing hesitancy.©2023 IEEE. Personal use of this material is permitted.
